Chapter 96: Chapter 96 Temporary Boyfriend

Hua Buqi saw right through Lin Zifeng’s intention in an instant and immediately responded with shy indignation, ”You beast! What do you mean by that?”

”Err... hehe, Huahua, you know what I’m talking about, right? No need for me to say more, I suppose? Besides, if you really were looking for me, then let’s keep it our little secret. If need be, I can ensure confidentiality and even find you a decent hospital, rest assured! I absolutely won’t leak anything; you can still be your star self.”

Lin Zifeng had come to terms with it, guessing the little miss had gotten herself mixed up with someone else and was now carrying someone else’s child; he wanted no part in the role of the fallback guy who gets saddled with the responsibility. So, at the very most, he could find her a decent hospital to take care of the unwanted pregnancy, right? Afterwards, they could go their separate ways; you don’t mess with me, I won’t mess with you. That would be perfect.

”You beast! You really are a beast! How could you think of me like that? I’ve never been in love before, how could it be possible... You jerk, what on earth are you thinking?”

After hearing Lin Zifeng’s insubstantial words, the young girl’s face nearly turned blue with rage. He actually suspected her of being pregnant? And he had the audacity to suggest she get an abortion? What kind of nonsense was this? Did this guy only have dirty thoughts in his brain? Oh, God! It was too horrifying. How could she be living with someone like this every day?

The more Hua Buqi thought about it, the angrier she got. She had only looked for him to act as her temporary boyfriend to fend off the sponsor’s harassment, yet his mind was filled with such dirty thoughts?

Could my reputation really be that bad? That even this beast doubts me?

”What! Good grief! Huahua, aren’t you being a bit too much? Not being in love but going to that extent with someone? And even... That’s way too much! If your older cousin finds out, she’s definitely going to kill you,” Lin Zifeng said, putting on a pitying expression, sucking on a cigarette with furrowed brows, seemingly very concerned about her.

The more he misunderstood her, the more the flames of anger rose within Hua Buqi! What had she done to deserve this? She had simply wanted him to be her temporary boyfriend to escape the unwanted advances of the sponsoring company’s boss, and look at what he was inferring.

”Sigh! Huahua, even though your trouble has already arisen, out of humanitarianism, rest assured, I, Lin Zifeng, am definitely not the type to kick someone when they’re down. Even though I can’t be your boyfriend, I will surely take care of what comes next for you, properly. But don’t worry, with medical science so advanced these days, a small surgery should be doable.” Lin Zifeng sighed with feigned benevolence, ”Ah! The situation you’ve got yourself into is rather over the top, make sure to be more careful in the future!”

Looking at his future cousin-in-law, Lin Zifeng truly felt worried for her. Being pregnant at such a young age and asking him to be her boyfriend? Wasn’t this a mess? After all, he was going to be her older cousin’s husband.

At this moment, Hua Buqi was consumed with a mix of sadness and rage, almost grinding her teeth in hatred. Seeing him act as if he were showing concern, if she had a pistol in her hand, Hua Buqi would have certainly shot this supreme jerk without hesitation. Wasn’t she just asking him to be her temporary boyfriend? So how did his mouth spit out all these weird ideas? Could it be that she, Hua Buqi, was so unchaste?

”You beast! I can tell you plainly, I’ve never been in a relationship my whole life and certainly don’t have the filthiness you’re imagining. Stop making wild guesses!”

Seeing the young girl’s watering eyes almost crying from anger, Lin Zifeng quickly picked up a magazine from the table and ran over to her, fanning her with it in a sycophantic manner, ”Hehe, don’t be angry, Huahua, don’t be mad! It’s all my fault. Actually... If you really are looking for a boyfriend, you see, I’m a guy who neither has looks nor charm, just a modern-day, poor loser on the internet. If you like anything about me, I’ll change it! Won’t that be okay?”

”Don’t call me Huahua; are we close? You should call me ’Youthful and Invincible Beautiful Girl’! And it’s not what you’re imagining at all; I’m not pregnant.”

Hua Buqi pouted adorably, her expression one of dissatisfaction.

”Uh... hehe, youthful invincible beauty.” Lin Zifeng also felt a wave of embarrassment. Damn, even saying her name had to be that long, such a hassle.

”I’m telling you, I’m asking you to be my boyfriend, but it’s only temporary, so don’t get too excited! It’s because my agent, Sister Meng, got another sponsorship from a company that wants me to have dinner with them tonight. You know, with my pretty, innocent, and cute looks, he’s definitely taken a liking to me and must be scheming to take advantage of me. So tonight, you’ll be my shield, acting as my temporary boyfriend, but...”

”But what?”

”You have to act like a rich playboy. The more profligate, the better!” The girl swept away the expression of being misunderstood by Lin Zifeng just a moment ago, as if nothing had happened.

It seemed Hua Buqi still had a pretty good heart, at least she didn’t hold a grudge.

”Hua... Oh! Youthful invincible beauty, you want me to pretend to be a rich young master and also be your temporary boyfriend?”

”Yeah! Happy, right? I know you must be very happy, but don’t get too excited because it’s only temporary.” Hua Buqi pursed her lips, tilting her head and pouting, as if she had something on her mind that she hadn’t figured out yet.

Happy? I’m happy my ass! Being used as a human shield, what is there to be happy about. Lin Zifeng was utterly disheartened.

”You follow me tonight, but you absolutely must not give us away! You have to pretend to be calm and display that extravagant air you usually have. I’m telling you, I’m not going to settle the score with you for what happened just now. If you slip up and say something wrong tonight, I’ll tell my cousin that you bullied me just now! And that you even wanted to take me to get an abortion! See how my cousin will deal with you!”

Having said that, without waiting for Lin Zifeng’s agreement, she left cheerfully, sashaying her hips.

Lin Zifeng was left in confusion, still not quite understanding what the heck was going on with the girl.

”I absolutely refuse!”

Lin Zifeng furrowed his brows.

”No negotiation. Humph!” The girl carried her hands on her back, stuck out her chest, and hummed lightly with her cherry lips pursed. You think I’m such a pushover, huh? I’m not going to settle with you just yet about that misunderstanding of me being pregnant. Did you really think I, Hua Buqi, am so harmless?

I just wanted to make you feel like you owe me, that you wronged me, which is why I didn’t fuss over it. But I will definitely make you suffer at my hands! You want to see me dance the horse-riding dance? You always eat my snacks, don’t you? You’re always arguing with me, aren’t you?

Fine! I’ll let you taste what it’s like to deal with Hua Buqi little by little. Humph!
