Urban All-Round Master

Chapter 87: Chapter 87: Offending the Petty Man

”Damn! What the hell are you all doing? Has everyone stopped working? Just dawdling away the days, huh?”

At that moment, a highly dissonant voice sounded from behind. As soon as Jia Zhenjing heard it, his neck shrank in a flash, recognizing immediately whose voice it was.

He then put on a full-faced ingratiating smile and scurried over, fishing out a pack of exceedingly cheap cigarettes from his pants pocket. He offered them obsequiously, ”Brother Huang, have a smoke to calm your ’spirit’.”

”Get lost, damn calf! Who the hell needs to calm down?” Comrade Daming glared fiercely and barked angrily.

”Alright, alright, these cigarettes are too low-grade, way too low-grade. I’ll buy a better pack for Brother Huang later.” Out of awe for Comrade Daming’s lewd/power, Jia Zhenjing prudently backed to the side.

”Kid, looks like you’re quite at ease.” At this time, Huang Daming walked up to Lin Zifeng with his hands clasped behind his back, sneering and looking down at him from his lofty position.

His face was full of malintent, and even without trying, it was clear this guy had long harbored a grudge against Lin Zifeng.

Not for any other reason, but simply because he took an unprovoked dislike to him.

”Not at all, I’ve just arrived, so I thought I should try to get along well with my brothers. It’s good to have each other’s support when we work together in the future,” Lin Zifeng said with a hee-hee chuckle.

”Piss off, damn calf! Who told you to make connections? Who the hell do you think you are? Trying to network here, what are you aiming for? To form an organization?”

Huang Daming suddenly berated him, his tone dripping with sarcasm. His mood was that of a man who had swallowed a dead child and couldn’t find an outlet for his frustration. So he took it all out on Lin Zifeng, ignoring the fact that he should take a good look at his own shortcomings. Really, what was he playing at?

”Brother Huang, Brother Huang, don’t be like this. Little Zifeng didn’t set up any organization, and it’s not that serious. Calm down. Little Zifeng, hurry up. Hurry and apologize to Brother Huang, admit you were wrong.” With a swift glance, Jia Zhenjing quickly stepped forward to smooth things over.

”Oh? You speak of me this way, Team Leader Huang; seems like you’re quite dissatisfied with me.” Lin Zifeng brazenly said, having mustered up some anger earlier and wanting to punch this jerk, but ultimately, he held back. There was no need to fight this mad dog.

”What the hell are you?” Huang Daming became more and more addicted to cursing.

”Right, exactly! I’m certainly nothing special, but I’d like to ask Brother Huang, what do you consider yourself to be?” Lin Zifeng smiled sunnily and radiantly. ”Of course, if Brother Huang sees himself as something special, then I have nothing to say.”

”You...! What did you say!”

Huang Daming was already dissatisfied with Lin Zifeng, and upon hearing his words, which neither hurt nor tickled, he became so furious his eyes popped, and he itched to tear Lin Zifeng limb from limb.

”I’m just speaking the truth. If you, Brother Huang, can’t take it, that’s not my problem.”

”So it’s my problem now?” Huang Daming pointed angrily at his own face.

Lin Zifeng said nothing, just nodded silently, thinking to himself, Right, exactly. It’s not my problem, definitely not my problem. I’m so good-looking, there’s definitely no problem.

”Kid! You’ve just been here two days and you’re already acting tough. Just you wait!”

Huang Daming had made up his mind; he was dead set on getting Lin Zifeng out of Tianyu. If he didn’t, it would keep nagging at him, especially every time he saw that ever-smiling face. Huang Daming couldn’t stand it.

”Brother Huang, Brother Huang, please calm down,” Jia Zhenjing pleaded. ”This kid is new and doesn’t know any better. Don’t stoop to his level. I’ll definitely educate him properly in the future. You can rest assured about that. With me, old Jia, around, what problem can’t be solved?” Jia Zhenjing had already seen that this Lin surname newcomer didn’t take Huang Daming seriously at all and even dared to oppose him. If he didn’t intervene now, he really feared that Huang Daming might just fire him.

Everyone in the company knew that Huang Daming had quite a reputation. It was rumored that in his younger years, he was a retired Special Soldier, very formidable. Not only were his skills impressive, but many high-level executives had also tried to recruit him as a personal bodyguard, offering him high salaries. Yet, he turned down so many people outright. No one knew why, but he actually joined Tianyu as the head of security, which was quite surprising to everyone.

”Doesn’t know any better? Hmph! I think he doesn’t know how to behave,” Huang Daming scoffed repeatedly, in his mind.

This kid was just too arrogant, relying on his youth. Someday, I, Huang Daming, will definitely put you in your place!

”Uh—” Jia Zhenjing paused for half a second, his smile stiffening, then it spread across his face as he said, ”Yes, yes, yes, he doesn’t understand how to behave. You, sir, should rise above and let this one slide. Another day. Yes, some other day I, old Jia, will treat you. Brother Huang, whatever you want to eat, I’ll make for you. If you don’t like what I cook, we can go out to eat. I’ll make sure you eat your fill and to your satisfaction. How about that? Can you give me, old Jia, this face just once?”

”What are you?”

To Jia’s surprise, far from being appeased, Huang Daming brushed him aside with a sweep of his arm, with such force that an ordinary person would have been knocked to the ground. However, Jia stumbled a few steps, crying out continuously, but managed not to fall. Instead, he remained standing.

This surprised Lin Zifeng slightly; given Jia Zhenjing’s build, one would think a light sweep could have easily knocked him to the ground, but no. Not only had he not fallen, but he also remained upright.

”Kid, I think you’re asking for it!” Huang Daming was just about to grab Lin Zifeng by the collar when Lin’s foot suddenly slipped, and he lurched forward.

”Ouch!”

”Bang!”

The two embraced tightly as Lin Zifeng’s elbow slammed into Huang Daming’s chest, causing a surge of pain that nearly made him scream out loud.

”I’m so sorry, Brother Huang, my foot went limp, are you okay? I didn’t hurt you, did I?” Lin Zifeng patted his chest forcefully, but inadvertently he hit the spot where Huang Daming had an old injury, causing such pain that it almost brought tears to his eyes.

”...”

Huang Daming was on the verge of tears. If his younger brother, Xiao Ming, had seen him, who knows what kind of reaction he would have had to run away crying—

”You...!”

Huang Daming was fuming with rage, but since there were many people around, he restrained himself from lashing out to avoid the others saying he bullied the newcomer, which would be a disgrace to his old face.

”Brother Huang, are you alright?” Jia Zhenjing’s eyes shone as he quickly approached.

”All of you, get lost!”

After saying this, Huang Daming pushed Jia Zhenjing away again and left angrily.

Lin Zifeng touched his face thoughtfully, thinking to himself, He tells us to get lost, but he’s the one who stormed off first.
