I Am Your Natural Enemy

Chapter 83: Chapter 65: Core Zone, Chase and Play (5k)_2

Hearing Wen Yan’s words, the Little Zombie immediately looked unhappy and fell silent.

The White-haired Zombie, however, was relieved and quickly turned to lead the way.

Escorting Wen Yan and the others, they arrived at the area of the pools they had come from. When they reached one of the pools, the White-haired Zombie mumbled a few sentences.

The Little Zombie knew Wen Yan couldn’t understand what the White-haired Zombie was saying, so it stretched out a small hand and took off the white safety helmet from its head.

The moment the Little Zombie removed the safety helmet, Wen Yan suddenly felt a hint of malice.

Earlier, when he tested the waters about going to the walled area, the White-haired Zombie, who hadn’t dared to refuse anything, had found the courage to refuse.

Now, upon removing the white safety helmet, that malice had intensified.

Wen Yan knew they might be starting to be suspected.

He looked at the pool in front of him and understood that this was not at all the pool that would lead them out of here.

What a pity. He had correctly guessed about the safety helmet earlier, but he had guessed wrong about some untouchable matters.

He had planned to give a warning to this White-haired Zombie, who had a strong will to survive and clearly had its own agenda, right before they left after the visit.

”As long as you say nothing about today’s events, we won’t mention what happened here either.”

Including the Walking Dead and Wraiths escaping from the chemical factory Domain and appearing in the Water Ghost Domain—this was definitely an accident and a mistake that should not have happened.

But now, looking at the White-haired Zombie who was waiting to take the white safety helmet, Wen Yan stepped forward a few paces to stand beside Uncle and then took off his own white safety helmet.

The next moment, he felt the White-haired Zombie’s malice become even more apparent.

Great, where did it go wrong this time?

Wen Yan’s face was as still as water, without a hint of hesitation.

”Uncle.”

Uncle, who had kept his eyes closed the whole time, suddenly opened them. He crossed the distance—less than two meters—in an instant. His two sharp claws pierced through the White-haired Zombie’s defenses and stabbed into its chest.

The White-haired Zombie’s eyes suddenly widened, filled with lethal intent and malice that could no longer be suppressed. The white fur all over its body bristled, and it seemed ready to strike back, but its raised claw never fell.

Seven to eight seconds later, the White-haired Zombie still stood with its claws raised, having never retaliated. Its eyes, full of resentment and malice, gradually crumbled like a sand sculpture, turning into flying ash.

Only a red safety helmet fell to the ground.

Even in its dying moment, it still tilted its head slightly, eyeing the white safety helmet on Uncle’s head.

Wen Yan stared at the white safety helmet in his hand, lost in thought.

Such powerful hierarchical suppression. This must come from the rules of this place.

Those wearing white safety helmets could kill those with red ones, and the latter couldn’t even fight back.

If it weren’t for the white safety helmet earlier, they would have probably been attacked immediately for merely suggesting a visit to that core area.

Initially, the main reason they were given white safety helmets was probably not because of the Little Zombie, but because of him.

Other living people entering here must wear white safety helmets.

That way, according to the rules here, they could avoid attacks from all Zombies and Wraiths in this place.

And at the start, he had told the White-haired Zombie that he had lost his safety helmet in the current after being attacked by a Zombie.

This indicated a serious problem here: a Zombie had been able to violate the rules and attack someone with a white safety helmet.

And the root of the problem was with the management here, allowing many Zombies and Evil Ghosts to stray from this chemical factory Domain.

Such a thing would certainly be unforgivable here, a grave mistake punishable by certain death.

Putting all these events together had undoubtedly scared the White-haired Zombie badly, prompting it to immediately bring them new safety helmets.

But later on, this White-haired Zombie, which obviously possessed some Spiritual Intelligence, sensed that something was amiss.

Wen Yan replayed the events. He had no major regrets. His only goal had been to gather information, not to confront them directly.

Trial and error were part of the process of information gathering.

”Uncle, get rid of all the Walking Dead wandering here, and then let’s see if we can get out.”

Uncle was extremely fast, as if constantly maintaining a sprinter’s speed, and possessed high agility.

He continued his skewering spree. Within three minutes, the more than twenty Walking Dead still roaming around had turned into drifting ashes.

After absorbing so many at once, Uncle’s change was quite noticeable.

The dense black fur on his body grew ever thicker, resembling black armor that wrapped around his entire frame. Even the fur above his eyes drooped and intertwined, obscuring his hollow gaze.

Wen Yan looked back towards the factory thoughtfully. He decided against letting Uncle continue his spree; the situation inside the factory would definitely be different from the outside.

Even for a tour, that White-haired Zombie had only dared to take them through a designated visiting corridor, avoiding the seemingly closer and more convenient main entrance. There had to be a reason.

They had gathered enough information for the day. It was better to find a way out first.

Wen Yan approached the pool he had emerged from and tried calling out.

”Wang Xueqi.”

There was no response from beneath the water.

He thought for a moment, extended a hand, applied a Blessing to his fingertip using a touch of Yang Energy, dipped it into the water, and called out again.

”Wang Xueqi.”

Only then did his voice penetrate the water.

In the dark waters, Wang Xueqi was almost frantic.

Today, she had received Wen Yan’s Blessing, which awakened her consciousness. But when she was unconscious, her memories were fragmented, and she couldn’t sort them out for the moment.
