I Am Your Natural Enemy

Chapter 75: Chapter 62: Everyone is Satisfied, Something is Wrong with the Domain (Seeking First Subscription, 6k)_4

According to the Scorching Sun Department’s procedures, for evil ghosts that dare to attack people like this, they must be killed on the spot.

Last time I came here, I didn’t see any ghost objects—only demons among the monsters; but this time, there’s even an evil ghost.

For it to have grown a single horn, it must have already harmed at least ten people.

Wen Yan recalled his experiences practicing fist techniques over the past few days, thought about how to deal with this kind of Single-Horned Evil Ghost and its characteristics, and after reconsidering the power he had sensed from it just now, he confirmed there shouldn’t be any problem. His courage swelled immediately, and instead of retreating, he charged in head-on.

The Single-Horned Evil Ghost’s face twisted with ferocity, its eyes darting about. Sensing the Yang Energy radiating from Wen Yan, it was practically drooling.

When Wen Yan charged over again, it didn’t dodge or flinch. Its jaws stretched wide—three feet across—and it snapped at Wen Yan’s arm.

Full of courage, Wen Yan’s Yang Energy surged even higher. Silently chanting Scorching Sun, he activated the power of a Warm Jade and directly blessed his own fist with it.

Just as the evil ghost swallowed Wen Yan’s fist and bit down, it was like a scorching fireball the size of a basketball suddenly erupted, swelling up and stretching the ghost’s whole face absurdly wide.

The next moment, with a muffled bang, surging Yang Energy burst out, blowing the evil ghost’s head apart.

Intense Yang Energy turned into glowing sparks, drifting in mid-air.

The evil ghost’s body, ignited by the exploding Yang Energy, was gradually consumed by the flames.

When it fell, all that was left on the ground was the imprint of a headless corpse, and a charred spine dropped onto the earth.

These are some of the things that evil ghosts leave behind after death, called Ghost Bones, which the Scorching Sun Department collects as material. According to its introduction, after thorough grinding, it can be added into certain equipment parts.

The phone that the Scorching Sun Department handed out—they use Ghost Bone in some components, which is why they can photograph ghosts that regular people can’t see.

Wen Yan picked up the Ghost Bone, mulling over how that punch had felt just now.

He still lacked real combat experience. Though he was familiar with the Scorching Sun Fist training method, solo practice and an actual fight are two different things—he still wasn’t good enough.

He couldn’t help worrying that his power wasn’t enough; now that he’d calmed down and looked back on it, he figured that with the same energy output, an experienced person could probably kill that evil ghost over ten times.

He’d relied on a burst of Yang Energy to brute-force the evil ghost to death.

Still, it wasn’t a big problem. He could always spend money to buy more Warm Jade. As long as the goal was achieved, higher consumption was acceptable.

Wen Yan looked into the dense forest—Uncle, brimming with murderous aura, was already making his way back.

At that moment, the sleeping Little Zombie suddenly opened her eyes. Her arms around Wen Yan’s neck, and her two short legs, all tensed up just a bit.

Wen Yan’s body shifted subtly from the impact, twisting slightly. In the next second, he heard the metallic clang of several things striking behind him—ding, ding, ding.

”Uncle.”

Wen Yan called out. He instantly saw Uncle’s figure vanish from where he stood.

Wen Yan turned around and looked down, spotting a few pieces of something like black fingernails, each over an inch long, lying on the ground.

Even the Little Zombie had stopped smiling, her little face tense as she stared in the direction Uncle had gone, mumbling something in a whimpering voice.

”She says you should follow along,” Sparrow Cat whispered on the side.

With the Little Zombie on his back, Wen Yan hurried after Uncle. When he caught up, he saw a hulking Green-Haired Zombie reeking of stench—Uncle had already twisted off its head, and with his other hand, like a blade, stabbed right into the Green-Haired Zombie’s chest.

The Green-Haired Zombie’s Yin and corpse energy, all its power, were forcibly devoured. In a dozen seconds, it disintegrated into a pile of flying ash.

The black hair on Uncle’s body turned a deep green. All the escaping energy got sucked back and devoured. In another dozen seconds, the steel hair on Uncle reverted to its original black.

Wen Yan turned away, took a plastic bag out of his pocket, picked up the hard black fingernail shards on the ground, and searched around the dense woods for a bit. There was a piece of finger bone left on the earth.

He looked at Sparrow Cat and asked:

”I remember you saying, out in the wild, it’s rare for things to pick a fight, since they’re usually afraid of getting hurt, right?”

”What I meant were demons, not these brainless things. These are all creatures that have hurt people. The Yang Energy on you is practically spilling over—out here in the boondocks, it’s like you’re a flashlight. Who else would they go after, if not you?”

Wen Yan frowned slightly, looking at the items he’d just collected.

”Something’s not right. There’s no way that Green-Haired Zombie and that evil ghost were both up in the middle of the night scrolling on their phones, right?”
