The Darling of Heaven Owns a Rip-off Shop

”Let’s give it a try!” Xu Yuxi and Zhou Shiqiu said in unison once again.

”Is there anything else we need to watch out for?” Xu Yuxi turned and asked Little Green.

Little Green thought for a moment: ”Lord Dong Xiao reminded me that if after getting rained on, you feel hot and cold alternately, with blurred consciousness, you must hold on. If you stay awake, you will definitely awaken new spells, which is the superpower you mentioned. If you pass out and then wake up, it’s also possible. But if you don’t wake up, there’s no next step.”

”What will it become?” Zhou Shiqiu asked a bit fearfully.

”Another kind of thing,” Little Green replied.

”I’ll try first.” Xu Yuxi stood up, opened the door, walked outside, stretched out her hands, and caught a handful of rainwater. Under the light from the eaves, the rainwater in her hands looked very murky, somewhat eerie.

”Do you feel anything?” Zhou Shiqiu asked nervously.

”Not for now.” Xu Yuxi shook her head, but then nodded, ”Yes, yes, I feel it now.”

”How many months?” Zhou Shiqiu blurted out.

Upon saying that, Xu Yuxi had a line of black across her forehead.

”Ahaha, I just randomly replied without thinking.” Zhou Shiqiu scratched her head.

”I feel a bit cold; I’ll head back inside,” Xu Yuxi said.

”I’ll watch over you first, and when you’re completely stable, I’ll go next,” Zhou Shiqiu said.

”Alright,” Xu Yuxi agreed.

For the next hour, Xu Yuxi kept complaining about being so cold, turning on the electric heater for warmth, and even after covering herself with two quilts, she still felt cold. Then she’d feel hot and strip down to her underwear. When Xu Yuxi started to feel dazed, Zhou Shiqiu stayed by her side, calling her name to keep her from falling asleep.

When Xu Yuxi’s body temperature finally stabilized, Zhou Shiqiu asked worriedly, ”How are you feeling now? Is there anywhere you’re still uncomfortable?”

”No, I feel like there’s a strange heat inside, like a magical force moving within me,” Xu Yuxi said excitedly as she stood up, ran to the kitchen, found a sweet potato, placed it on the kitchen countertop, and waved her hand at it.

”Master, wait...” Little Green’s voice sounded.

With a boom, a burst of fire exploded out. The countertop nearly melted—not to mention the sweet potato, which turned to ashes. The massive flames even backfired, scorching Xu Yuxi’s forehead hair.

Xu Yuxi turned her head, ”Wait for what?”

Little Green, ”Nothing...”

Zhou Shiqiu burst into laughter.

”Is this the Fire Ability?” Xu Yuxi excitedly hopped, asking Little Green.

”Yes, Master, you primarily had a Fire Attribute Spirit Root,” Little Green nodded.

”Let me try too!” Zhou Shiqiu excitedly said.

”Barring any surprises, Senior Sister Zhou might comprehend new Earth Attribute spells?” Little Green jumped onto Xu Yuxi’s shoulder and gently smoothed her burnt hair near the ear.

”Then hurry on; this time I’ll watch over you,” Xu Yuxi said.

”Alright, alright. I hope I can become someone extraordinary too; I also want to protect Yuxi,” Zhou Shiqiu eagerly ran outside to get rained on.

Xu Yuxi felt a warmth in her heart, as Senior Sister Zhou was always such a wonderful person. While Zhou Shiqiu got rained on, Xu Yuxi took out her laptop and began to detail and publish the method and process for awakening superpowers online. Who knows how much longer the internet will last; when the apocalypse comes, all of this will collapse, but hopefully, it will help more people.
