The Darling of Heaven Owns a Rip-off Shop

Chapter 463: Chapter 26: That Sunflower Facing the Apocalypse

”Watching our former peers turn into this, it’s really hard to bear. I truly don’t want to harm them, even knowing they’ve long lost consciousness.” Xu Yuxi sighed, ”But if we don’t clean them up, if anyone comes later, and they don’t have superpowers like us, encountering this group of zombies unprepared would be too dangerous.”

”If we don’t want to do this to strangers, one can only imagine the pain those face seeing their loved ones turned into zombies.” Zhou Shiqiu sighed, ”There are some scattered ones over there, I’ll get them together and burn them. I’ll bury them afterward.”

”I’ll go with you.” Zhang Qiang followed Zhou Shiqiu with a steel pipe in hand.

”Be careful, you two.” Xu Yuxi advised.

The three of them cleared the zombies inside and outside the rest stop thoroughly and only then felt relieved.

”So tired.” Zhou Shiqiu kneaded his shoulder, ”Let’s refuel and leave here.”

”Yeah. I checked around, there’s nothing edible, most have already gone bad. Some are contaminated with zombie corpse fluids, can’t be eaten.” Zhang Qiang said.

”We don’t lack these things, let’s not look. If anyone comes later and finds them, let them use it.” Xu Yuxi frowned slightly at the pit Zhou Shiqiu had buried, although they’re buried, the air was still filled with the burnt, rotten stench.

”Alright, let’s hurry.” Zhang Qiang nodded. After getting in the car, Zhang Qiang said, ”Sister Xu, Sister Zhou, you two rest for a while, I’ll drive. I’ll call you when we reach the next rest stop.”

Xu Yuxi replied in a muffled voice and stopped speaking. Her mood was still very heavy. Among the hundred or so zombies, ninety-five percent were elderly. These elderly should have happily planned a trip together, but ended up infected with the virus, and being weak and old, they couldn’t cope or resist, which led to the complete wipeout.

Zhou Shiqiu asked, ”Can you manage alone? Do you need me to help you with the map?”

”No need, the map’s right here.” Zhang Qiang pointed at his head.

”Alright, then I’ll nap too.” Zhou Shiqiu remembered Zhang Qiang’s great memory, felt relieved, and closed his eyes to sleep.

When they arrived at the next rest stop, Zhang Qiang woke Xu Yuxi and Zhou Shiqiu.

”You two go find a place quickly, I can’t hold it any longer.” Zhang Qiang jumped out of the car, ”I’ll make it simple, just turn around and don’t look, also better to cover your ears and not listen.”

Xu Yuxi and Zhou Shiqiu exchanged a glance and couldn’t help but chuckle.

After relieving himself behind an abandoned vehicle, Zhang Qiang breathed comfortably and ran back, grabbing the steel pipe from the car, ”Let’s go, I’ll stand guard for you. I checked earlier, there are a few zombie remnants over there, someone seems to have been here and cleaned up, but not sure inside.”

The three of them cautiously entered the rest stop’s lobby, seeing zombie remnants scattered on the floor, confirming it had been cleaned. However, the floor was dotted with black brain matter, which looked quite disturbing.

”The cleanup was done by skilled people, I suspect they’re superpower users.” Zhang Qiang observed and said, ”Probably more than one person, maybe two or three. Look here, there are burn marks like Xu’s, they have Fire Ability Users.”
