The Darling of Heaven Owns a Rip-off Shop

”What do you think the government will do?” Zhou Shiqiu asked worriedly.

”I don’t know.” Xu Yuxi shook her head slightly, feeling very heavy-hearted, ”This disaster really caught everyone completely off guard and beyond imagination.”

Zhou Shiqiu fell silent, and Xu Yuxi also stopped talking, both of them watching TV and scrolling on their phones in silence.

The government quickly took measures to isolate all infected individuals, and those who had turned into zombies were all captured. As for how they were dealt with, no follow-up was announced.

In the following days, the television began broadcasting warnings advising citizens to avoid going out as much as possible. A terrifying unknown virus was spreading rapidly. If anyone around displayed fever followed by loss of rationality, people were instructed to call the police immediately. Eventually, television broadcasts sternly advised that citizens must not go out at all. Work and school were canceled, urging everyone to return home.

Many sensed something ominous and began buying essential goods and food to stock up at home. As soon as many supermarkets and stores opened, they were stripped bare.

The situation deteriorated day by day, and although the news tried to reassure the public daily, the atmosphere became increasingly tense. A month after the virus spread, the news finally stopped broadcasting. Turning on the TV, only static snow appeared. The phone signal had disappeared half a month earlier, and the internet had long been cut off.

But the last broadcast on the news was the news anchor advising citizens to prepare a radio. They assured that the government would not abandon them and urged people to trust in the government.

Xu Yuxi fished out a small radio and sighed, ”Things outside must be chaotic.”

Turning on the radio, both of them smiled as they listened to the broadcast.

The government indeed did not abandon the masses. The radio repeatedly played several pieces of information.

First was about preventing and dealing with the virus, second was for people to head to safe bases where soldiers would receive them, and if possible, they could drive there themselves. Many provinces and cities had established safe bases, and some neighboring provinces shared one base. Third was the broadcast of survival guides and superpower activation precautions.

After broadcasting the survival guides and superpower precautions, it concluded with a note of thanks to an online user named Feather.

”Feather? Is that referring to you?” Zhou Shiqiu looked at Xu Yuxi with wide eyes.

”Yes, it’s me, but I really don’t deserve the thanks. It wasn’t my idea. It was all from the mysterious Tianmiao.” Xu Yuxi shook her head lightly.

”That mysterious figure certainly deserves gratitude, but so do you. You shared it immediately after obtaining it, and your kindness saved many people. Now everyone in the country knows you. Yuxi, you’re really amazing.” Zhou Shiqiu said earnestly.

”Stop complimenting me, I’m getting embarrassed.” Xu Yuxi chuckled shyly, ”We’ve almost run out of supplies here, and the water was cut off last night. I think the power outage will come soon. We should prepare to head to the safe base. The broadcast mentioned that superpower users receive special treatment there. But I think there will also be special assignments for us.”

”That’s right, master, Tianmiao once said that with great power comes great responsibility among you humans!” Little Green spoke with some concern, ”Would those tasks be dangerous for you, master?”

”What I fear most is exposing you, you would be in danger. Once we are outside, you must not speak to me in front of others, nor should you reveal your little hands and feet.” Xu Yuxi’s greatest concern was indeed this matter.
