The Darling of Heaven Owns a Rip-off Shop

Chapter 468: Chapter 31: That Sunflower Facing the Apocalypse

After a while, Zhang Qiang and Zhou Shiqiu came over to visit.

”How do you feel?” Zhou Shiqiu asked.

”Not bad. Let’s go together tomorrow, Xiao Zhang. From now on, you join us. Your spiritual ability will definitely play a significant role.” Xu Yuxi said.

Zhang Qiang chuckled: ”I was worried about how to ask Sister Xu to include me, the tag-along, but Sister Xu just said it outright.”

”You’re not a tag-along. Once you grow, maybe we’ll be the ones slowing you down.” Xu Yuxi joked.

”Thanks for the encouragement, Sister Xu. I will try my best.” Zhang Qiang said with a laugh, obviously not taking Xu Yuxi’s words seriously, thinking she was just comforting him.

...

The next morning, the three of them rode a special vehicle to pick up superpower users and went to the main hall, where they also saw Senior Chen. He was visibly surprised to see the three of them, he hadn’t expected all three to be superpower users. He wanted to come over and say hello, but Xu Yuxi and Zhou Shiqiu turned their heads, pretending to be asleep.

At Xu Yuxi’s request, the three were grouped into a small team. Along with one other superpower user, they joined a team of fifteen military personnel. The team leader was a stern and robust man, who had only one requirement for Xu Yuxi and the others: follow orders. He did not judge them by their appearance, nor did he show weakness or disdain just because Xu Yuxi and the others were superpower users; he treated everyone in the team equally.

With a leader like this, Xu Yuxi felt that things would be much easier.

Their mission on the first day was to go to the neighboring county to clear zombies, search for survivors, and aid those still living. Everyone was given a backpack with three days’ worth of water, compressed biscuits, and basic medical supplies.

A jeep led the way at the front, while a modified truck followed closely behind, heading towards the neighboring county 30 kilometers away.

...

A month later.

In the morning, Xu Yuxi and the three of them routinely arrived at the main building to report and wait for their task assignment.

The team leader came over to them and said: ”Xu Yuxi, Zhou Shiqiu, Zhang Qiang, although I’ve worked with you for only a month, I am very happy.” During this month, these young people had helped rescue many individuals and found a lot of resources, growing at an impressive speed. It was quite surprising to him.

Xu Yuxi looked at the leader’s emotionless face and couldn’t help but mentally comment, I really didn’t see how you are very happy.

”You must be thinking that my expressionless face doesn’t look happy at all.” The leader suddenly said.

”Pfft!” Xu Yuxi and the other two all burst out laughing instantly, and then they exchanged glances, realizing that they had all been thinking the same thing just now.

”Alright, enough teasing.” The leader’s tone turned serious, ”In just a month, your performance has truly surprised and delighted me, your growth rate is incredibly fast. Especially the way you handle zombies, your cooperation amazes us. Honestly, we don’t want to see you leave.”

Leave?

Xu Yuxi and the others exchanged glances, then looked at the leader, knowing that he must have something significant to discuss since he said so much.

”R Country has asked us for international assistance; their situation is much worse. Normally, we should deal with our domestic issues first, but they have made groundbreaking research on the virus. They said if we are willing to provide effective international aid, they would share this research with us. They sent us the first part, our experts have reviewed it, and there’s a high possibility that their research is indeed groundbreaking.”
