The Darling of Heaven Owns a Rip-off Shop

Chapter 200: Chapter 24: Treasure on the Palm, Pig

”Oh? What if I tell you that it’s actually Luo Fu, the one you love, who asked Wang Congshan to hire me to kill you?” Yan Zhengya crossed his arms, a mocking smile curling at the corner of his mouth, as he looked down at the little Wolf Demon.

The Wolf Demon’s face turned pale, and it couldn’t hold back anymore, blurting out, ”Impossible! I’ve known and loved A’Fu for three years, she loves me! How could she do such a thing?! You, Daoist, dare to slander A’Fu, utterly shameless!”

Yan Zhengya shook his head and sealed the Wolf Demon’s mouth with a Silence Talisman, saying, ”Later, don’t cry, okay? My shoulder won’t be available for you to lean on.”

The Wolf Demon glared at Yan Zhengya, looking as if it could eat him alive. Yan Zhengya was unbothered, humming an unknown tune as he tied the Wolf Demon even tighter.

He placed the thoroughly bound Wolf Demon at the base of the wall in Luo Fu’s backyard, and stuck an Invisibility Talisman on its back, ensuring it could neither make a sound nor fully see what was happening inside the house. Meanwhile, he headed back to the inn, wondering how his little pig was doing, whether it missed him terribly, and if it was whining for his return.

Upon arriving at the inn, as soon as he walked in, the assistant looked at Yan Zhengya as if he were a lifesaver, almost in tears, ”Daoist, you’re finally back! Your pig, it...”

Yan Zhengya asked nervously, ”What happened? Did it cry because it missed me too much, or what?”

”Neither, neither. Daoist... Our inn is really being eaten bare by it, once there’s nothing left, it drank the wine, and now it’s causing drunken havoc, thank goodness you’re back, please save us.”

Yan Zhengya dashed upstairs, utterly stunned at the sight — behind a mountain of stacked dishes and bowls was the round little piggy, bouncing around like a meatball, reeking of alcohol, bouncing around the second floor.

How much has it eaten?! Yan Zhengya thought in fright. Luckily, Wang Congshan agreed to let it be on his tab. Otherwise, even if he fought fifty demons, he might not have made it out of the inn. One demon and one pig washing dishes to pay the debt — that would be too embarrassing.

He hurriedly ran up, grabbed the little pig, channeled his energy into the pig’s back, forcing all the alcohol out of its system. Holding the pig — yep, definitively heavier.

The little pig finally sobered up, seeing Yan Zhengya holding it, happily grunting, snuggling against his chest.

”You actually ate so much? Are you full?” Yan Zhengya tentatively asked.

The little pig grunted, hiccupped, indicating it was about there.

Yan Zhengya felt faint, realizing the pig had an even bigger appetite than he had imagined. What should he do in the future, the little pig was so well-behaved, usually eating as much as given, at most eyeing his bowl. Who could’ve guessed...

Once everything finally calmed down, Yan Zhengya gave the agreed-upon silver reward to the assistant, who thanked him profusely, seeing Yan Zhengya and his little pig off before immediately blowing out the lamps and closing shop early. By tomorrow, the story of the little pig was likely to spread through the city streets.

Yan Zhengya put the little pig down and leisurely strolled it to the back of Luo Fu’s courtyard. Just as the little pig was about to hiccup, he pinched its mouth shut and stuck an Invisibility Talisman on it.

”Shh!” Yan Zhengya gestured, and the little pig immediately nodded, obediently following behind him.
