The Darling of Heaven Owns a Rip-off Shop

Chapter 151: Chapter 24: Prestigious Families

The pavilion indeed already had a hot pot prepared, because transparent curtains hung down from several corners of the pavilion, preventing the cold wind from entering, and with the heat from the hot pot, the entire pavilion was warmly cozy.

Once everyone sat down, it started snowing outside.

”Wow, such heavy snow.” Kong Hou turned her head to look at the swirling snow outside, saying excitedly, ”Tang Wanwan, after the hot pot, let’s go build a snowman.”

”Sure, sure.” Tang Wanwan agreed immediately.

”You’ve seen snow this heavy before, what’s the excitement about?” Dong Xiao said coolly.

”It’s different, there weren’t so many people with me before, and no one to play with. Tang Wanwan is the best, always playing with me.” Kong Hou glared at Dong Xiao.

Dong Xiao fell silent. Although Kong Hou’s human form can transform into an adult woman, she’s still an immature dragon child, which Dong Xiao often forgets. In fact, at such an age, she does indeed have the right to be playful in front of her elders from the same species. Honestly, Kong Hou’s transformation into a child in this world seems to have dropped her intelligence to the level of human children. So silly, it’s hard to watch.

While eating the hot pot, a scene unfolded.

Tang Wanwan picked up food for Kong Hou, Dong Xiao picked up food for Tianmiao, and Yan Bin picked up food for Dong Xiao. Several pairs of communal chopsticks were never idle.

Tianmiao glanced at the busy Yan Bin, then at Dong Xiao who was attentively picking up food for her, but said nothing.

After lunch, Kong Hou, ignoring the continued snowfall, rushed into the snow to build snowmen. Tang Wanwan wrapped herself into a round ball and helped out on the side. The big and small busily worked together, having a lot of fun.

Tianmiao stood at the edge of the pavilion, smiling at Kong Hou’s delighted snowman building. She recalled the scene when she first found Kong Hou. A chubby little dragon girl, one chubby hand gripping a shell, the other holding a struggling octopus, stared wide-eyed at her, asking in a childish voice, ”Who are you? Do you want to play with me? As long as you play with me, I’ll give these to you.” After speaking, she offered the shell and octopus to her.

Tang Wanwan and Kong Hou built several snowmen in the heavy snow before stopping, resulting in Tang Wanwan catching a cold as a human.

”Achoo!” Tang Wanwan sneezed, wrapped in a fluffy little blanket, her nose red.

Yan Bin said helplessly, ”Take the medicine quickly, don’t delay. The earlier you take it, the faster you’ll recover.”

”I won’t, I can brave through it.” Tang Wanwan refused to take medicine, ”By the way, did you show your manuscript to Sister Tian? What did she say?”

”Miss Tian really liked it, I’ve already asked my team to rush it overnight,” Yan Bin said, proudly shaking his head, ”Don’t you know who I am? I’m the talented Master Yan.”

”What’s with your narcissism? You saw during the snowball fight; they’re not ordinary people. You should give up sooner.” Tang Wanwan advised again.

”I know you mean well,” Yan Bin’s face lost its playful look and became more solemn, he looked at Tang Wanwan, ”It’s too late, I’m already sunk in. You saw during the snowball fight.”

Tang Wanwan recalled the scene where Yan Bin was knocked flying and then saved by Dong Xiao, her face darkened: ”Have some dignity! You’re offering yourself just because of that?”

”Isn’t it always so with heroics?” Yan Bin said confidently, ”Didn’t you used to tell me that when a hero saves the beauty, if the hero is handsome, offer yourself, if the hero is ugly, repay him in the next life as a cow or horse. Can you dare to say Dong Xiao isn’t handsome?”

Tang Wanwan: ”...” How on earth can I not want to flip the table and hit someone?

(Take some time to write about the backgrounds of Kong Hou and Dong Xiao, even dragons and phoenixes have their stories.)
