Chapter 178: Chapter 2: Pearl in the Palm, Pig in the Hand

Thus, Yan Zhengya tracked the Weasel Demon to Xiao Zhou Mountain at dusk. At this time, Xiao Zhou Mountain was gradually shrouded in darkness, and Yan Zhengya crouched on the mountain path, studying something.

There’s no mistake; this demonic aura even has a hint of alcohol.

Just how much alcohol did the Weasel Demon steal from that person? It’s one thing to steal someone’s drink, but what’s with the lack of manners, farting in their presence? No wonder they’re holding a grudge! Yan Zhengya grumbled inwardly, carefully discerning the direction of the demonic aura, and continued deeper into Xiao Zhou Mountain.

As Zhengya ventured deeper, another strange aura in the depths of the mountain caught his attention. This aura was unlike demonic aura, yet more intense. Demonic aura appeared faint red, while this aura was pitch black.

Intuition told him there was danger in the air, so Yan Zhengya immediately went on high alert, spat out the blade of grass from his mouth, and took two talismans from his chest.

The tall grass before him rustled, and something yellow and white darted out, disappearing quickly.

It was precisely that Weasel Demon! Zhengya’s heart leaped with joy, and he quickly followed suit.

In his hand, a Fire Talisman flew forward, igniting the tall grass with a bang. Yan Zhengya leaped ahead, and from his back, the Peach Wood Sword was driven from its sheath, under Yan Zhengya’s control, darting straight at the Weasel Demon.

Seeing the Weasel Demon stuck between the wooden sword and the Fire Talisman, with no retreat, the demon lowered its front paws to the ground, let out a strange cry, and its belly quickly expanded. With a great noise, yellow smoke filled the air, and it stank terribly.

”Damn!” Yan Zhengya quickly held his breath; farting without a word, how uncouth of you!

Yan Zhengya formed a sword sign with his hand and controlled the Peach Wood Sword, chasing the fleeing Weasel Demon once more. With years of experience vanquishing demons, he had seen many such illusions. The Peach Wood Sword pursued the demonic aura, flying deep into the mountain.

After about the time it takes for an incense stick to burn, the Weasel Demon seemed exhausted, glancing back at the distance of the Peach Wood Sword while sprinting madly. Suddenly, it lost balance and slammed into the pointed stones ahead with a loud cry, losing consciousness—not people-conscious, but demon-conscious.

Yan Zhengya arrived shortly after, opened the Demon Suppressing Qiankun Bag at his waist, and placed the Weasel Demon inside. He nodded with satisfaction. Hmm, ten taels of silver in hand. No, he still had to make the Weasel Demon give up its tricks in front of the client. Hmm, that’s a bit tricky. But it’s not impossible. Oh well, he would figure that out later.

As it grew later, he took out his Compass, determined the direction of the mountain entrance, and leisurely proceeded out.

When he had walked about more than a mile from the mountain entrance, the Peach Wood Sword behind him trembled twice, and a faint demonic aura immediately caught Yan Zhengya’s attention.

A demon? Yan Zhengya raised his eyebrow slightly, following the aura, turned a corner, and scratched his way down the valley.

As the demonic aura thickened, Yan Zhengya felt a shiver in his heart, took the Peach Wood Sword in hand, and approached a grassy area up ahead, where something was rustling inside.

Using the sword tip, he parted the tall grass, revealing a small, indistinguishable black lump nestled within.

Yan Zhengya cautiously prodded it with the sword; with a rustle, the black lump quivered suddenly, revealing a pink nose.

Both parties were startled; Zhengya backed away, while the pink nose jumped straight up in fright.

With that jump, Yan Zhengya saw clearly—it was a... pig?

Indeed, a little black pig, with a pink nose and small black eyes staring at him in fear. Its round body, small pig hooves, and curly tail.

So, it was just an ordinary little black pig. Yan Zhengya relaxed, exhaling deeply, and patted his chest.

The little black pig was even more motionless, crouching close by, watching Zhengya.
