The Darling of Heaven Owns a Rip-off Shop

Chapter 184: Chapter 8: Treasure on the Palm, Pig

Yan Zhengya said we might start running out of food soon. Although it sounded a bit exaggerated, it was becoming an alarming reality. The little piglet was just too good at eating, and if they kept lazing around, this winter was going to be tough.

So, Yan Zhengya took the little piglet and went down the mountain to get some jobs.

The weather was getting colder, and as Yan Zhengya tucked the little piglet into his arms, he suddenly thought of a question.

”Little piglet, are you a girl pig?” Yan Zhengya looked down at the piglet in his arms.

”Grunt?” The piglet made a questioning sound.

”I haven’t seen you grow any eggs, so you should be a girl pig, right?” Yan Zhengya pondered seriously, ”If you’re a girl pig, then you definitely can’t run to watch me use the toilet anymore, you hear?”

”Grunt?” The piglet continued to make a questioning sound.

”I know you can understand. Stop pretending to be clueless. You’re not allowed to watch me use the toilet anymore.” Yan Zhengya tugged the piglet’s little ears.

”Snort!” The piglet snorted unhappily. Fine, I won’t watch! What’s the big deal?

Yan Zhengya received a new job, Miss Li from the Li estate was obsessed with a spirit and couldn’t extricate herself, staying indoors all day, waiting at night for the spirit to come and be affectionate with her.

Mr. Li was chubby, but the expression on his face was very haggard.

”Daoist, you must catch the spirit. Look at my poor daughter, what has she become? She just stays in the house eating and drinking, doesn’t even see us, says she’s waiting for her lover.” Mr. Li got more and more agitated as he spoke, almost wiped tears away.

”She doesn’t see you? Just cooped up inside?” Yan Zhengya asked.

”Yes, let me show you, Daoist.” Mr. Li led Yan Zhengya to the backyard, ”She doesn’t eat our food, says her lover brings her feasts. It’s true, sometimes we can smell it from outside, and it’s tantalizing. Sometimes it’s hot pot, sometimes it’s barbecue, and sometimes...” As he spoke, Mr. Li gulped.

Then Mr. Li met Yan Zhengya’s strange gaze and quickly cleared his throat: ”I’m just worried the spirit is feeding my daughter something poisonous, trying to harm her. Daoist, I’m telling you, my daughter is kind and beautiful. In the past, she would stop the carriage upon seeing an injured wild rabbit and bandage it herself. How could a spirit bear to hurt such a kind daughter of mine...” Mr. Li spoke with eyes full of tears again.

”Alright, I’ll have a look first. Anyway, it’s fifty taels, no bargaining,” Yan Zhengya said.

”Good, good, as long as the Daoist can catch the spirit, that money is nothing,” Mr. Li nodded vigorously.

Yan Zhengya and Mr. Li headed towards Miss Li’s courtyard. As soon as they entered, Yan Zhengya could feel the presence of spirit energy.

There was indeed a spirit.

But, what’s with this fragrance?

Even more intense than the spirit energy was the delicious aroma of food wafting through the air. But it wasn’t mealtime yet, was it?

Yan Zhengya turned his head and looked at Mr. Li in confusion, who scratched his head awkwardly: ”The spirit and my daughter have four or five meals a day, and there’s even a midnight snack.”

Yan Zhengya’s mouth twitched; this spirit and Miss Li sure knew how to enjoy life.

The little piglet in Yan Zhengya’s arms also wriggled its tiny nose, snorting snorting, oh, it smelled so good, what’s the delicious food inside?

”I’ll go take a look,” Yan Zhengya stepped forward.

Mr. Li stayed put, whispering, ”Daoist, be careful, I’ll wait for good news back there.” Saying this, Mr. Li turned and dashed away swiftly; his nimble movements completely mismatched his round physique. Such cowardice, what could he do, it was a spirit inside, a spirit!
