The Darling of Heaven Owns a Rip-off Shop

Chapter 129: Chapter 2: Prestigious Family

This world has a total of three states, comprising over twenty countries. The V state is the most prosperous independent country in terms of economy and trade. Being the only country in a state, it is also one of the largest countries in this world.

After saying goodbye to her parents, Tang Wanwan was escorted by the housekeeper to the private airport at the back of the ancestral home. With the Tang family’s wealth, there are over thirty private planes available for dispatch. This time, Tang Wanwan was flying on a private plane specially designed for her by her best friend Li Shuang, which had just arrived two days ago. The Li Family’s private planes are globally renowned for being expensive, very expensive, and extremely expensive. Each plane needs to be booked three years in advance, and it seldom accepts custom orders, yet this plane for Tang Wanwan was voluntarily gifted by Li Shuang.

Tang Wanwan was dressed in professional attire, yet it accentuated her graceful figure. However, her expression did not match with such formal attire at all. Without any care for her image, she yawned and said lazily, ”Why do I have to go? Where’s my dad?”

”He’s on vacation with the madam on an island,” the housekeeper replied.

”Ah, they really are true love; I’m just an accident.” Tang Wanwan sighed, pretending to be self-pitying, which amused the housekeeper.

”Miss, a spot has already been reserved for you at your favorite restaurant, at the highest position.” Though the housekeeper knew Tang Wanwan’s self-pitying act was fake, he couldn’t help but comfort her.

”Haha, I knew Uncle Zhang treats me the best.” Tang Wanwan became spirited. The thought of being able to eat at her favorite restaurant after the meeting lifted her spirits.

”Would Miss like to drink a cup of coffee to perk up?” the housekeeper asked.

”I do, I do,” Tang Wanwan nodded, and yawned again.

As the plane took off, Tang Wanwan shivered while sipping hot coffee, suddenly feeling a twinge of unease that quickly dissipated. She paused, her hand holding the coffee cup suspended in mid-air.

”Miss, what’s wrong?” the housekeeper asked concernedly.

”Ah, it’s nothing.” Tang Wanwan shook her head, instinctively touching the amulet in her pocket. This amulet was given to her by her grandfather, claimed to be a treasured item passed down through generations of the Tang Family. Her grandfather seriously instructed her to never take it off. She had heard the story behind this amulet but never took it seriously.

She listened to her grandfather’s tales as if they were myths. It is said that this world once had the presence of the Demon Clan, and under the lead of a saint, the ancestors completely eradicated the Demon Clan, resulting in today’s prosperous world. This amulet was crafted by ancestors following the saint in the battle against the Demon Clan with the saint’s help. It’s purported to protect against the Demon Clan and ensure safety.

Tang Wanwan never believed these, but she couldn’t bear to disappoint her grandfather’s care, so the amulet never left her side.

As the private plane ascended, the clouds completely veiled the view, and the captain announced the landing would be in two hours.

After about half an hour of calm, the plane encountered minor turbulence, causing Tang Wanwan’s cup to shake and spill onto the floor. Such intense turbulence indicated extreme weather conditions, yet she noticed the sky outside was bright blue with strong sunlight.

The plane seemed to turn a large corner, the surroundings eerily quiet, and Tang Wanwan turned to discover the housekeeper had lost consciousness and collapsed on the floor. Even emergency calls to the captain received no response.

At such high altitude, a malfunction or accident would be almost certain death. Tang Wanwan understood this well. The Li Family’s planes could not possibly have quality issues; otherwise, their reputation would have long vanished, with faults checked by professional teams thrice before each flight. Any tiny scratch in a part would lead to replacement and maintenance.

With the cabin lights flickering, the sound of the plane’s engines shutting down was extra jarring. If hydraulic power failed completely and cabin pressure was lost, her death might be more agonizing than a crash.

The plane jostled violently again; this time, the clouds outside transformed into a thick black mist.

And the amulet tightly held in Tang Wanwan’s hand began to heat up.

In the distant clouds, Tianmiao observed the violently shaking private plane and finally took action.
