”Hey, have you guys made up your minds? One or two? I’m telling you, this Young Master is running out of patience!” As Chen Fei was already on his way, the arrogant young man abruptly stepped out of the room, his expression darkening as he spoke coldly.

Zhang Long didn’t expect the other party to go back on their word so quickly and couldn’t help but retort, ”Didn’t you say you’d give us half an hour to think? How long has it been?”

”Do you take me for an idiot? Sit here and wait for you to find people to cause trouble for me? I’m not Young Master Yang; I don’t have that kind of backing. So now, you have one last minute. If we can’t reach an agreement, then I’m sorry. Next time, you can talk to Young Master Yang yourselves. This Young Master won’t be serving you!” the arrogant young man said coldly.

”You...”

”No need to wait a minute. I can tell you right now that we have no deal, and there’s nothing to discuss. Got it?”

Just then, a cold voice rang out as Chen Fei stepped out of the elevator.

”Shut up! Who the hell are you? What gives you the right to spout such nonsense in front of this Young Master? I’m telling you, if we can’t reach a deal today, don’t even think about it in the future. By tomorrow, I’ll have Young Master Yang shut down that pathetic Herbal Cuisine Workshop of yours!”

The arrogant young man’s expression changed when he heard this, but seeing that the newcomer was a stranger, he figured the man had no powerful background. He strode up to Chen Fei, prodding his chest with a finger and blowing out a puff of smoke as he spoke with contempt.

”How audacious! Gou Qiang, are you looking for death!?” A furious and severe roar suddenly came from behind Chen Fei. It was Young Master Feng, Huang Feng, his expression agitated.

It was ridiculous. Of course he recognized Gou Qiang, the ”mere” son of the Sea River District Health Bureau’s director. In Huang Feng’s eyes, he was less than nothing. Yet now, this nobody dared to be so impudent and arrogant, poking a finger at Brother Fei’s chest while putting on such a pretentious display. He was simply courting death!

”Y-Young… Young Master Feng!?”

Hearing this, the arrogant young man, Gou Qiang, trembled violently. He stared incredulously past Chen Fei.

A moment later, he seemed to freeze solid. He sucked in a sharp breath, his face a mask of terror. As he trembled, the cigarette fell from his lips. My God, Young Master Feng… and Sister Cailing too?

”Such big talk,” the cold voice sounded again, making him shudder violently.

I… I… What the hell did I just do? That’s Young Master Feng, the son of Northern Mountain City’s new mayor, along with Yang Cailing, the eldest daughter of Director Yang of the Municipal Organization Department and Young Master Yang’s own sister! But… but for those two to be standing behind this guy… Could his background be even more terrifying than theirs?

I’m so screwed… The rapid shift in his thoughts instantly made his legs go soft. His face turned deathly pale, his lips lost their color, and he began to quiver uncontrollably. I actually dared to poke a guy with such a terrifyingly powerful background… Isn’t that just asking to die?

In the next moment, Chen Fei suddenly bent down, picked up the cigarette butt from the ground, then grabbed the other man’s cheek, forcing his mouth open. He ruthlessly stuffed the still-burning cigarette butt inside.

”Ah—!”

A pained scream tore out. Zhao Le and Zhang Long were completely dumbfounded. They never expected Chen Fei to be so audacious, shoving a lit cigarette butt right into the man’s mouth. After all, this was the son of the director of the Sea River District Health Bureau. To ordinary folks like them, that was an intimidating figure!

”Don’t worry, it’s nothing.” Seeing the stunned and worried looks on their faces, Chen Fei just chuckled nonchalantly. He turned his gaze back to the man, his eyes narrowing with a cold, mocking smile. ”So, how does it taste? Want another one?”

”It’s good, it’s good… No more, please! Ouch, it hurts!” Terrified, the arrogant young man’s legs gave out as he pleaded in fear.

”How boring. I thought you had more backbone. Alright, let’s get down to business. Him, do you know him?” Chen Fei pursed his lips, bored, and suddenly pointed at Huang Feng.

”I know him, I know him…” the arrogant young man answered, his voice trembling as sweat poured down his face.

”You do, huh? How about her? You know her too, right?” Chen Fei nodded in satisfaction and then pointed his finger at Yang Cailing.

”I know her, I know her…” The young man’s face was a mask of misery. What a joke. Young Master Yang’s sister and the mayor’s son… I run in the circle of officials’ children in Northern Mountain City; how could I not know them?

SLAP!

Chen Fei slapped him across the face without hesitation. ”You know them and you still act so high and mighty?” he said, irritated. ”You dared to mess with my friend’s shop, even trying to force a sale? What, is your old man too comfortable in his position? Are you trying to get him kicked out of it for him?”

At these words, both Huang Feng and Yang Cailing trembled slightly, their eyes flashing. They knew very well that Chen Fei didn’t make empty threats; he could do exactly as he said.

When the arrogant young man heard this, he was completely stunned. A chill shot up his spine, and his face contorted with terror. He wasn’t an idiot; quite the opposite. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have suddenly gone back on his word and tried to pressure Zhang Long and Zhao Le into a decision before the half-hour was up. Now, hearing this man so brazenly say such a ”shocking” and sensitive thing in front of Young Master Feng and Yang Cailing—two titans in the circle of officials’ children in Northern Mountain City—he knew, without even thinking, that this man had to have terrifying backing. He had the power to make good on his words.

The realization almost struck him dumb. The next instant, he fell to his knees with a thud, his face full of misery. ”Brother, my good sir, I, Gou Qiang, was a fool who failed to recognize greatness. I shouldn’t have been so presumptuous in front of you and your friends. Please, be the bigger man and forgive me this once. I truly know I was wrong!”

Smart people were smart people. Even though his kneeling completely shocked Zhao Le and Zhang Long, Chen Fei found it hard to strike a man who was already down, especially since he had admitted his mistake.

”Alright, quit the act, you’re creeping me out. Come on, tell me who sent you. Was this your own idea?” Chen Fei casually pulled him up and questioned him with narrowed eyes.

The arrogant young man, Gou Qiang, was taken aback. He stole a nervous glance at Yang Cailing, then steeled himself for the worst. With his head hung in resignation, he confessed, ”It was Young Master Yang who sent me. Yang Yuancheng, Young Master Yang…” His voice grew softer and softer, but it was loud enough for everyone present to hear.

”So it really was him. Hey, how about a little task for you? Lure that punk over here for me,” Chen Fei said, stroking his chin.

”Ah!”

Gou Qiang was truly dumbfounded. Judging by his words, he isn’t planning on letting this go? I mean, come on… isn’t that taking it too far? That’s the son of the Director of the Municipal Organization Department! And his sister, Yang Cailing, is standing right here. Is he serious, saying something like that in front of her?

This wasn’t something to be taken lightly. With Young Master Yang’s status, shouldn’t this all be chalked up to a misunderstanding? After all, no real harm was done yet, and no one had gotten what they wanted. There were no serious consequences.

But now, this man clearly wasn’t ready to drop the matter and intended to pursue it further. Are you really planning to fight to the bitter end? We’re talking about Young Master Yang!

With this thought, he couldn’t help but cast a pleading look toward Yang Cailing and Young Master Feng. She was Young Master Yang’s sister, and he was her boyfriend. Surely, they would step in and try to mediate. It wasn’t a huge deal. They could just smooth things over.

”What are you standing there for? Didn’t you hear what Brother Fei said?” The next moment, Huang Feng smacked him on the head.

SLAP!

Gou Qiang was completely bewildered. What… what did he say? Brother Fei? Young Master Feng just called someone else ’Brother’?

In that instant, he was so frightened that sweat beaded on his forehead. A look of sheer panic filled his trembling eyes.

For someone to be addressed as ’Brother’ by Young Master Feng himself… doesn’t that mean… No wonder. No wonder he wasn’t planning on letting this go. He really does have the status and power to back it up!

”Ah, Brother Fei, I think I’ll step aside for a moment,” Yang Cailing said with a faint sigh.

Hearing this, the arrogant young man couldn’t help but shudder, the fear in his eyes intensifying.

”Cailing, I’m sorry. Your brother has gone too far. His despicable actions show a complete disregard for the law. If someone doesn’t discipline him soon, he might truly be ruined for life,” Chen Fei said slowly.

”I understand.” Yang Cailing nodded slightly, then added in a low voice, ”But Brother Fei, because of my stepmother, my father dotes on my brother immensely, so…”

”Don’t worry about it. We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it,” Chen Fei replied with a noncommittal smile, then patted the arrogant young man’s shoulder.

”I’ll call, I’ll call! I’ll make the call right now, right now…” The arrogant young man jolted, snapping back to his senses. He immediately whipped out his phone and dialed a number.

Seeing this, Zhao Le and Zhang Long both trembled slightly. The latter couldn’t help but speak up. ”Afei, maybe we should just let it go? It’s not like we’ve suffered any real loss…” Clearly, he didn’t want Chen Fei to get into trouble over them.

”Relax, it’s fine,” Chen Fei said, smiling reassuringly. He’s just a scumbag. Think of this as a contribution to society. After all, I’m technically a public servant now—a bureau-level official, no less!

”Hey… Young Master Yang, it’s me, A-Qiang. Everything’s settled here. They’ve agreed to sell the Green Bamboo Medicinal Cuisine House to us for 500,000. You… you can come over now?” At that moment, the arrogant young man’s call connected. He spoke with a trembling voice, his heart pounding with fear.

”Really? That’s fantastic! Gou Qiang, you’ve handled this well. I’m very pleased, hahaha! I told you, how tough can a couple of nobodies be? In front of me, Yang Yuancheng, they have no choice but to bow their heads and hand over the Herbal Cuisine Workshop and its recipes! Hahaha! Alright, you wait there for me. I’m on my way…”

After he confirmed the location, the arrogant laughter on the other end of the line stopped abruptly as the call was hung up.
