Although his brother was an ignorant good-for-nothing and a wastrel, how dare Chen Hao hit him? What is this supposed to mean? Does he think my, Ma Tianfang’s, brother is an easy target? Or that our Ma Family is easy to bully? This is simply outrageous!

”It’s like this, I took a liking to a small-time actress,” Ma Tiansheng began to explain.

”A small-time actress? You’re telling me he hit you just because of a small-time actress? What’s her relationship with him? Did you make that clear? Or are you hiding something else you haven’t told me?” Ma Tianfang obviously didn’t believe him.

”Well, uh... there was also a young man with the surname Chen. Brother, this is what happened today...” Ma Tiansheng hadn’t expected his brother to guess so accurately that he was hiding something. He immediately clenched his teeth and told him the whole story, knowing very well that if he didn’t clarify things now, his brother would definitely not let him off easily if he found out later.

A young man with the surname Chen…

On the other end of the line, Ma Tianfang’s brow furrowed, and he began to listen intently.

”You mean to say that just because you threatened that young man, Chen Hao suddenly flew into a rage and beat you? And he didn’t show any mercy, using potentially lethal force?” After listening to his brother’s account, Ma Tianfang was stunned. The hairs on the back of his neck stood up.

He hadn’t risen to his position as a leading figure among the third-generation disciples of the Macau Ma Family by being a fool. He knew his counterpart was none other than the great Young Master of the Hong Kong Chen Family—Chen Hao, a man of his same status. Yet now, Chen Hao was acting like a mere underling, inconspicuously trailing an unfamiliar young man. And apparently, just because my brother spoke out of turn and offended that man, Chen Hao panicked and jumped out to beat someone up... and that someone was my own brother...

Just as Ma Tianfang’s skin was crawling, Ma Tiansheng spoke up again. ”Brother, you have to help me this time! That Chen Hao has gone too far...”

Before he could finish, Ma Tianfang angrily cut him off. ”Are you out of your mind? Can’t you see how serious this is?”

”Brother, why... why are you scolding me?” Ma Tiansheng was on the verge of tears. I’m the one who got beaten up! Why am I being yelled at?

”Who else would I scold? Don’t you realize you may have caused a huge problem?” Seeing that his brother still didn’t get it, Ma Tianfang said impatiently, his expression darkening.

”A huge problem? Brother, what kind of problem?” Ma Tiansheng asked, dumbfounded.

”Let me ask you, who’s the idiot here, you or Chen Hao? If that young man surnamed Chen were just some nobody with an ordinary background, do you think Chen Hao would disregard his own status and act so recklessly as to hit you? Hitting you is a direct provocation against the dignity of our Ma Family!” Ma Tianfang explained, forcing himself to be patient.

”And yet, even with the Ma Family name backing you up, Chen Hao still beat you without holding back one bit. What does that tell you? It means that in Chen Hao’s eyes, that young man’s background is even more powerful and terrifying than our Ma Family’s! Do you get it now?!” By the end, Ma Tianfang couldn’t help but raise his voice in sheer frustration.

If this is true, then this matter is anything but trivial. Even our Ma Family must treat this with the utmost seriousness, or there could be disastrous consequences.

”Ah, Brother, what should we do now?” Ma Tiansheng panicked. He had considered this possibility, but he never imagined the situation could be this severe.

”What to do? Call Grandfather immediately and tell him everything, exactly as it happened. I’m going to call Chen Hao right now and ask him what’s going on,” Ma Tianfang ordered in a tone that brooked no argument.

”Ah! Call Grandfather!?” Calling Grandfather was the last thing he wanted to do. If this matter was truly that serious, wouldn’t he, Ma Tiansheng, be in for it?

”Yes, call him right now. Otherwise, if Grandfather and the others learn about this through other channels, you know what the consequences will be.” Ma Tianfang was so angry he wanted to slap his foolish brother. Does he still think this is some simple matter?

”Okay, okay, I’ll call! I’ll call right now! Don’t be angry, Brother.” Chastened by his brother’s yelling, Ma Tiansheng sobered up and carefully dialed his grandfather’s number with a trembling hand.

Meanwhile, after hanging up, Ma Tianfang wore a grave expression as he made a call he would have much rather avoided.

”Hello, Chen Hao, it’s Ma Tianfang,” he said slowly after the line connected.

On the other end of the line, Chen Hao was slightly stunned to receive a call from Ma Tianfang. He turned to Chen Fei. ”Brother Fei, please excuse me for a moment.” He then walked to a corner of the banquet hall. The Chen and Ma families had never been on good terms, so he had no reason to be polite. He sneered into the phone, ”What is it, Ma Tianfang? I beat up your brother, and now you’re calling to get even?”

”Enough, Chen Hao. Don’t play coy. I didn’t call you to argue,” Ma Tianfang said, suppressing his anger.

”I have no interest in arguing with the likes of you either. Spit it out or I’m hanging up,” Chen Hao scoffed.

”That person, what is his identity?” Ma Tianfang asked, taking a deep breath.

”That person? Who might that be?” Chen Hao’s eyes narrowed slightly, the corner of his mouth hooking into a smirk.

”Stop playing games. That young man surnamed Chen—who is he? Why does someone like you, Young Master Chen, hold him in such high regard?” Ma Tianfang finally asked the question that plagued him. He had to find out the man’s identity, or there would be big trouble.

”Oh, you mean Brother Fei?” Chen Hao mused. As expected of Ma Tianfang, he caught on quick. Still, he decided to play coy.

”Brother Fei? You call him ’brother’?” On the other end of the phone, Ma Tianfang’s eyes narrowed as his expression turned extremely grave.

He knew just how proud Young Master Chen was. Chen Hao wouldn’t even call the young master of the number one family among Hong Kong’s Five Great Tycoon Families ’brother’. Yet now, he was calling a complete stranger ’brother’ with a tone of sincere respect that didn’t seem fake at all. This...

”Are you surprised? It’s my honor to be able to call him Brother Fei.”

Chen Hao’s next words were like a bomb going off in Ma Tianfang’s head, making his heart race with shock.

What? Chen Hao actually said it was his *honor* to call that man ’brother’?

The next moment, he couldn’t help but swallow, his voice growing solemn as he pressed, ”Chen Hao, stop beating around the bush. Who is he? That... person... what is his status?”

”Sorry, no comment. But, as we’ve been ’friends’ for so many years, I’ll give you a private warning. Your idiot brother dared to make a move on Brother Fei’s woman. Your Ma Family is in deep trouble this time... hahaha!” Chen Hao laughed heartily and hung up the phone.

BEEP. BEEP.

On the other end of the line, Ma Tianfang’s heart turned to ice.

Brother Fei? Is the Ma Family really in deep trouble this time? He was sure he’d never heard that name before. Yet Chen Hao had dared to state so bluntly that the Ma Family was in trouble. A chill ran down Ma Tianfang’s spine. Could it be? Does that young man surnamed Chen truly have some heaven-defying background?

After standing in stunned silence for a long time, a chill of anxiety creeping through him, Ma Tianfang finally made a decision. ”This won’t do. I have to call Grandfather myself.”

This is no joke. The situation is far more serious than I ever imagined.

Meanwhile, as Ma Tianfang hastily called his grandfather, Chen Hao dialed his own father to relay everything that had transpired. Sure enough, upon hearing that the fool Ma Tiansheng had dared to make a move on Brother Fei’s ’woman’, his father, Chen Yaoyang, immediately flew into a rage, like an infuriated lion.

What a joke! That was Chen Fei, Mr. Chen! A terrifying existence who could annihilate our Chen Family with a wave of his hand! And now someone dared to covet his woman? Isn’t that just courting death? Utterly idiotic!

At the same time, he couldn’t help but feel a little schadenfreude. After all, the Chen and Ma families were rivals. Now, the Ma Family had been foolish enough to run afoul of Mr. Chen. This is going to be a good show, hahaha!

Hearing his father’s reaction, Chen Hao breathed a deep sigh of relief, a great weight lifted from his shoulders. Originally, I was a bit worried I’d gone too far, but now... it seems my concerns were completely unnecessary. It seemed that in his father’s eyes, the Ma Family, one of Hong Kong’s Five Great Tycoon Families, truly couldn’t compare to Brother Fei alone!

Meanwhile, Ma Kun, the Clan Leader of the Ma Family—one of Hong Kong’s Five Great Tycoon Families—hung up the phone after speaking with both his second and eldest grandsons. His aged brow furrowed deeply, his heart clearly unsettled.

”A young man surnamed Chen... who dares to completely disregard our Ma Family?” he murmured to himself. ”Does he truly possess such power?” He then took out his phone and dialed the number of Chen Yaoyang, the current acting head of the Hong Kong Chen Family.

”Hello, is this my esteemed nephew Chen? It’s me, Ma Kun. Do you have a moment...”
