Reborn and Counterattack: The CEO's Powerful Sweetheart

Chapter 1359: Chapter 1358: That Kid Has Set His Sights on Me

Basketball is a sport for many players, and passing and dribbling both have a lot of particulars to them. Of course they can also be anticipated—an unexpected pass counts as a kind of tactic too.

Precisely because of that, there are fouls on the court as well, but normally they’re called in sync with the few seconds after a pass.

However, just now, right before Hu Bichao was about to pass, Teacher Gu Tong spoke up first, and when Hu Bichao had already let the ball go, Sheng Yiweng simultaneously snatched it down.

This already goes beyond the scope of prediction; it’s got a touch of clairvoyance to it.

Hu Bichao’s eyes went wide. The mental prep he’d done wavered a bit. They’d agreed that no matter what tricks the other side pulled, he would stay calm and unhurried.

But faced with this kind of situation, he really couldn’t manage to stay firm to the end.

Hu Bichao asked, a bit puzzled, ”Bro, what are you doing...?”

He’d taken the ball, but instead of shooting, he handed the ball back to him. Hu Bichao couldn’t help feeling like he was being toyed with.

Giving up the ball? No way! They’d just scored. Then what was the point—why had he tossed the ball back to him again?

Could it really just be for the sake of catching him off guard.

Sheng Yiweng was an easygoing guy, good at talking to people. If this were before, he’d definitely be smiling as he explained away Hu Bichao’s confusion.

But right now the situation was special. Teacher Gu Tong had given instructions, and he was an actor now, a hawk fixating on its prey without blinking.

Sheng Yiweng’s eyes were filled with coldness, as if he’d locked onto his opponent. He aimed his gaze straight at Hu Bichao and refused to look away, with an indescribable, hard-to-read smile lingering at the corner of his mouth.

That smile looked a bit terrifying, icy cold! Like the grin of some cold-blooded creature that can’t help itself—whether he was going to eat someone or attack, nobody could tell.

Gu Tong was leaning under the hoop and happened to catch Sheng Yiweng’s profile. She curled her red lips slightly. This kid’s improvising pretty well.

She had no idea that what she was seeing was actually Sheng Yiweng forcing himself not to crack up, his teeth biting hard into the inside of his cheek. After all, the expressions on the faces of those eight people in Internal Medicine Class 2 were just too hilarious. Holding back his laughter was genuinely painful for him.

Not getting the answer he wanted, Hu Bichao furrowed his brows tightly.

...

”Internal Medicine Class 2, holding the ball overtime!” The PE teacher, Lin Wenjue, blew the whistle and naturally took on the role of referee for this game. He said, ”Elective Class ball.”

...

Holding the ball overtime...

There really is a rule on the basketball court that limits how many seconds you can hold the ball. Holding it too long counts as a delay-of-game foul.

Just now, while Hu Bichao was zoning out, he was simply hugging the ball without making any move.

Holding the ball overtime!

Could the Elective Class have done it on purpose?

No, that doesn’t add up.

It was the Elective Class that had the ball first. If they were doing this deliberately, there’d be no need to pass it to Internal Medicine Class 2 and let them get called for holding, only to have the clock reset and possession go back to the Elective Class.

What exactly were they trying to do!

Hu Bichao’s hands were trembling a bit.

Huang Chengyi stepped forward and said, ”Chaozi, what’s wrong with you?”

Hu Bichao shook his head and said, ”That kid’s got his eyes locked on me. Let Xu Chuanchuan be the main ball handler in a bit.”

Xu Chuanchuan wasn’t some outsider—he was the second main player for Internal Medicine Class 2, the one in jersey number five.

Xu Chuanchuan wasn’t far away and heard their conversation. He nodded and said, ”Alright. Then once you guys get the ball, just pass it to me. Let’s all be careful and stay focused, yeah.”
