I Can Devour Monsters' SSS Talents

”Lian, do you have any idea what we should do—” Kain suddenly stopped in the middle of his sentence and frowned.

His eyes first fell on the place where his best friend had been standing a few moments ago, but now the only thing there was the gray stones of the path.

”Wait a second...where is Lian?”

Rindo, whose full attention had been on Rodrick’s three separated groups, turned his head.

Seraphina, Selina and Marcus also looked around at almost the same time.

No one had an answer.

”I thought he was behind us.” Cassian said with a slight frown and checked the path they had come from.

”I was also paying attention to what Rindo was saying and Rodrick’s people.” Seraphina frowned slightly.

Knowing Lian, his disappearance for no reason did not seem like good news.

Kain searched around for a few more seconds, then rubbed his palm over his face and let out a heavy sigh.

”God knows where that bastard disappeared to this time.” He said with an expression between tiredness and helplessness.

The Student Council President thought for a moment, but unlike him, there was no real worry on his face.

”I don’t think we need to worry about him, among all the people currently inside this test, Lian is probably the last person who needs our help.”

Liana also nodded.

”That’s right...I mean, even death couldn’t kill him.” Liana said with a small smile, but behind that joke was a memory that could still send a cold shiver through her body.

”So why exactly should we worry about what a school test can do to him?”

For a moment, a heavy silence appeared among the survivors of the Special Area ... because her sentence was ridiculously true.

Kain slowly moved his eyes between their faces, what exactly had they seen that was so crazy that they were this calm now?

”For now, let’s go for the Resistance Seal, if Lian decided to do something else, he probably has his own reason.” Rindo nodded and pointed toward the white pillar.

Seraphina gave a short look toward the path where she thought Lian had gone.

She said nothing, but a guess formed in her mind.

Lian rarely did something without a reason, and if he had disappeared exactly when Rodrick’s forces had divided into three groups...

One of those three groups was probably going to have a very bad day.

A few minutes earlier.

Lian had made his decision the moment Rodrick’s large group divided into three sections.

In terms of numbers, they had no chance of copying the same plan.

At best, their group could quickly defeat one Guardian and take one Seal, while Rodrick had more than seventy people and could challenge three Seals at the same time.

If even two of his groups succeeded, the Second Stage would almost go exactly the way he wanted.

He was not going to allow that.

”If we don’t have enough people for three groups...” He said while walking down another stone path, keeping his eyes on one of the distant pillars, the corner of his lips slightly rose.

”Then we simply don’t need to have a group for each Seal.”

One person could also be a group.

Blue lightning wrapped around his legs.

Thunder Step.

Boom!

The stone under his foot cracked and his body shot forward at high speed, his target was simple, one of Rodrick’s three Seals.

And among them, the group moving toward the blue pillar was the best choice.

The Speed Seal.

Less than five minutes later, Young Vorhelm reached the destination island.

The blue pillar was shooting straight into the sky from the center of a huge field in the distance, but what caught his attention more was the more than twenty students who had gathered outside the Guardian’s area.

Rodrick’s group and the person standing in front of them were also completely familiar to Lian.

Darren.

Darren was explaining something to several of his people when the sound of heavy armor made him turn his head.

When he saw Young Vorhelm, he paused for a moment, then that same annoying old smile appeared on his face.

”Oh? You haven’t been eliminated yet? Honestly, I thought with Level 23, the First Stage itself would make things easy for us and eliminate you, but it seems you’re like a cockroach that just refuses to die easily.”

Several people behind him laughed, some others thought his words were stupid but still laughed to fit in with the group.

Lian showed no reaction to the insult, his eyes passed over Darren and settled on the blue pillar and the battle area.

”You came for this Seal?”

Darren looked like he could not believe the question was serious for a moment.

”No, we came here for a walk....obviously we came for the Seal.”

”Good, then I have a proposal.” It was time to use his negotiation skills, although he himself did not know if he even had such skills.

The laughter did not become quieter, it became even louder.

”Excuse me? A proposal? What kind of proposal could someone like you have for us, get lost and stop bothering us...if it wasn’t because it would look bad for us to bully a weakling, you would have been finished by now.”

”I’ll go first.” But Lian ignored those words and said what he wanted anyway, pointing toward the battle area with his finger.

This time there was silence for a few seconds, and then loud laughter came from the group.

”You want to go alone? Are you joking?” One of the students asked in disbelief.

”Without any other student.” Lian corrected him and his tone did not even change.

Darren lowered his head and laughed ... he really laughed.

”Are you serious? If you really think a Level 23 Awakened can defeat a Royal Seal Guardian alone, then that Special Area damaged your head much more than I thought.”

They did not know the Guardian’s Level, but when the test made them form teams for this Stage, it was clear that they were not going to face a simple enemy.

”Then that should be good news for you.” Young Vorhelm shrugged.

”Why?”

”Because you can make a bet, you remember our first bet, right? You lost like a dog, don’t you think you can get your revenge now?”

”What bet?” Darren’s smile slightly disappeared and this time his gaze became more focused, coldness appeared in his eyes.

”You tell me.” Lian answered calmly.

He was silent for a few seconds, then gave a short look at the people behind him, almost all the forces Rodrick had given to him were there.

If this madman was giving him such a chance to humiliate him himself, he saw no reason to refuse it.

”Ten minutes, if you can’t defeat the Guardian in less than ten minutes and return with the Seal, you will kneel in front of all of us and admit that compared to me, you’re nothing but a dog.” He paused for a moment and his smile returned.

”And after that, you will stop acting in front of Rodrick.” He set the ten-minute condition just to be sure.

Because he was worried that maybe this boy had something that gave him confidence, but whatever he had, there was no way he could win in ten minutes.

The people around them looked at Lian with interest, this bet was almost social suicide for someone who intended to enter the battle area alone.

But his expression did not change even a little.

”Deal.”

”That’s it?” Darren did not expect such a quick answer.

”No, now my condition, if I return with the Seal before ten minutes, you will get on all fours, walk three full rounds in front of these same people and bark like a dog ... loudly and clearly, I don’t want to have to teach you how a dog makes a sound later.”

A short laugh came from the back of the group, the student who had laughed immediately closed his mouth.

Darren’s face became red for a moment, if he backed down now, he would be humiliated in front of all the people who had been given to him to command.

”Deal, ten minutes, if it takes even one second longer, you lose.” In the end he clenched his teeth and accepted.

”Good, then watch the clock carefully.” Lian also turned to go toward the Guardian.

The moment his foot crossed the boundary, a wall of silver mist appeared behind him.

Within a few seconds, the entire field was hidden from the sight of the people outside, no one outside the area could see the battle.

The only thing that remained was the timer, and inside the field, he looked at the panel in front of him.

[Royal Trial has begun.]

[Speed Seal.]

[Related Stat: Speed.]

[Speed will be completely sealed.]

Before the rule became active, Lian opened his status panel, there was a decision he had delayed for some time.

But here, there was no reason to keep his points anymore.

[Stats Points: 550]

His eyes moved over the Stats.

[Physical Strength: 1000]

[Spirit: 500]

[Speed: 700]

[Mana: 1075]

[Resistance: 725]

It was time to use them.
