I Can Devour Monsters' SSS Talents

After leaving Seris’s room, Lian still had a few small things to do in Base #9.

None of them were supposed to take long.

Most of them were simply visiting people who, a few days ago, had stood together in a place where almost no one expected them to come out alive.

First, he went to see Seraphina.

The girl was still in the medical center, although her condition had changed a lot compared to the day they returned.

The severe shaking in her sword hand had almost disappeared, and the color had completely returned to her face.

When Lian entered the room, Seraphina looked at him from head to toe for a few seconds without saying anything.

A man who should have been dead had suddenly appeared in front of her without any wound or bandage, and there was not even a sign that his heart had been pierced by a sword.

”I don’t even know how I’m supposed to react to this, I’m just glad you’re alive.” Seraphina said with a tired look that showed her relief.

”Everything happened so fast that I couldn’t tell you I had a backup plan.” Lian calmly replied.

”That answer was not reassuring at all, I just hope you know that there are people like me who can’t easily watch you die.” The girl said dryly.

After her, the visits with the others were even shorter.

Liana could now walk without help, although the deep wounds on her body had not completely closed yet and she had lost both of her summons.

Now she was a summoner without any summons and had to find a way to solve this problem as soon as possible, otherwise her career as an Awakened would completely fail.

Selina also looked more tired than injured and a large part of her problems had already been solved.

Cassian was also in fairly good condition and as usual, the first thing he did when he saw Lian was stare at his completely healthy chest for a few seconds and let out a sigh of relief.

Among all the members of the group, it could be said that this boy had the strongest sense of responsibility and he still could not forgive himself for losing one of their teammates in the Fallen Border City.

And the fact that he thought Lian had died and that once again he had failed to stop the death of his teammates had made him seriously think that maybe he should quit being an Awakened.

But now that he saw that Lian was fine, it seemed his opinion had changed again.

The visits were short.

But it was strange, none of them were exactly the same people who had entered the Special Area.

Something in their eyes had changed, after all, a large number of their companions had not returned.

The experiences they had gained during this time could have been the experience of an entire lifetime, they had been accused and sentenced, imprisoned, and then fought and taken over a city.

They had been surrounded by a civilization and then fought against an entire civilization that had dozens of times more forces than them, and had gone to the edge of complete extinction.

In the end, they had been forced to face an existence that could shake the foundations of worlds.

Even when they laughed, the weight of those nine months was still somewhere behind their eyes.

Rindo and the others decided to stay at the base for one more day until their conditions became completely stable and they handed in their reports, then they would return to the academy.

Aren was still under the Federation’s supervision.

And Darian? Lian still did not know exactly what his older brother was planning, but for now, it did not matter.

Before leaving the Ruined Realm, there was one more person left.

One.

When he entered the mount maintenance area, the first thing he felt was the familiar connection of Hive Dominion.

A moment later, a calm wave of happiness reached his mind through the connection.

”Did you miss me this soon?” Lian raised the corner of his lips slightly.

He opened the private area and One almost immediately raised his huge head.

His condition was very different from the morning.

His injured leg had still not completely healed, but it was no longer in that terrible position.

The broken bones had been stabilized with the help of the potions and the natural healing ability of his body.

The large crack on his chest armor was also slowly closing.

Parts of his natural armor were still cracked and his damaged antenna had not regenerated yet, but One no longer looked like a creature that could die at any moment.

He should be able to completely return to his peak within the next one or two days.

His master walked over to him and placed his hand on his head.

”You’re much better now.”

The giant ant slightly pressed his head against his hand, and satisfaction, calmness, and a little pride could be seen in his eyes.

”Do you still think what you did that day was right? You could have died.” Lian gave a smirk.

An answer came through the connection.

Firm and without the slightest hesitation, yes, and he would do the same thing again.

Young Vorhelm stayed silent for a few seconds, he did not know whether this was the ability of his innate talent or whether this ant was simply this loyal by nature.

If it was the second one, then fine, but if it was the first one, the ability of his innate talent was more frightening than it seemed at first glance.

He probably needed to find another member for his colony to get the answer.

Then he opened his evolved innate talent panel.

After the first evolution of his innate talent, not only had the capacity of the colony changed, several secondary abilities had also been unlocked with it.

One of them had not been used until now.

Colony House

Lian kept his eyes on the name and the information appeared.

[Colony House]

[A special living space connected to the owner of the colony.]

[Registered colony members can enter.]

[Members inside the colony space will enter a resting state.]

[The need for food and water is greatly reduced.]

[Natural recovery speed is increased.]

[Special members can be transferred almost immediately.]

He read the text several times.

The space was not actually inside his real body, in fact, it was similar to a separate space that was connected to his existence through the colony talent, but from the outside, it seemed like the creature entered his body.

It looked somewhat similar to the ability of some summoners.

Then he looked away from the panel and looked at One.

”How about seeing your new home?” he asked him with a smile.

[Colony House]

[Special Member detected: One.]

[Current Condition: Injured.]

[Transfer available.]

[Transfer One to Colony House?]

[Yes / No]

He clicked the confirmation option.

[Yes.]

Lian expected a spatial crack to open or something like a gate, but suddenly a weak light appeared under One’s body.

The light moved up from the giant ant’s legs and the black shell of his body began to shine, then glowing particles separated from his legs.

”Hmm?” Young Vorhelm unconsciously took one step back.

The light moved faster.

Legs.

Abdomen.

Chest armor.

Head.

One’s entire huge body turned into thousands of tiny particles of light in less than a few seconds, he did not even have time to react.

The particles moved toward Lian, directly toward his chest, and disappeared.

The area that had contained a several-meter-long ant only moments ago was now completely empty.

He stood there for a few seconds and then slowly lowered his head and looked at his own body.

”...What?” he said with a truly confused expression.

After Black Silence, the Ruined Heart, and almost having his soul devoured by a Calamity, he thought his threshold for things that could surprise him had become very high.

But seeing a several-ton ant turn into light and disappear directly inside his body was still a little strange.

The panel immediately appeared.

[Colony House]

[Residents: 1]

[One — Special Member]

[Status: Resting.]

[Recovery Efficiency: +20%]

Lian narrowed his eyes slightly, he could still feel One through Hive Dominion.

But the feeling was different, One’s presence was no longer coming from a specific direction.

It was as if he was somewhere exactly beside his own existence, but at the same time, he was at a distance that could not be measured by the normal concept of space.

He focused on One’s name.

[Release Special Member?]

”Yes.”

Glowing particles appeared in front of him and joined together in less than two seconds, One’s huge body formed again.

The ant moved his head in confusion for a moment, as if he could not understand what had happened, he had suddenly entered a place that truly felt like a home to him and then suddenly came back outside?

Lian looked at him and then again said...

”Inside.”

The giant ant turned into light again and entered his master’s chest.

”Outside.” Young Vorhelm waited for a few seconds.

The light gathered again and turned into a giant ant.

One appeared and this time, a clear wave of displeasure reached Lian’s mind through the connection.

Lian looked at him for a moment and the ant was also looking at him and if the face of a giant ant had the ability to show annoyance, it was probably this.

”Okay, okay, the test is over.” he raised his hand and said in a surrendering tone.
