I Can Devour Monsters' SSS Talents

Silas started explaining at the same time, the Land of First Dawn had been discovered about seven months ago.

It was quickly discovered that it was different from most known areas of the Ruined Realm.

The mana in the environment was much purer and denser, and unknown plant species had been found there, some of which had medicinal or enhancement properties.

Some could temporarily increase physical strength by up to ten percent after each use.

The water of some springs had the ability to increase stats up to a certain limit.

Rare crafting materials naturally existed in some areas, materials that could be used to create Rank A and Rank B artifacts.

And even stranger, the number of attacking monsters was unusually low, some species were even completely peaceful.

The temperature in the mapped areas almost always remained moderate, and even simply resting in that area increased the natural speed of mana recovery.

Kain leaned toward Lian.

”You have probably heard news about it almost every week during these past few months, several new plants have come from there that have crazy prices and can almost bring a dead person back to life, of course, if you are actually dead, then no, as long as you are alive, no matter how badly you are injured, after consuming that plant, you will become completely healthy.”

”I even heard that if you have already reached your stat limit, the springs there can help you increase your stats and go beyond the limits.”

Along with his interest, a strong desire appeared in Lian’s eyes, he had never heard that something like this was possible and all these descriptions sounded exactly like a description of heaven.

How could such a place exist inside the Ruined Realm?

But whatever the reason was, it was truly tempting, especially the plants, resources, and treasures that could be found there ... with the help of the Celestial book of treasure, it was possible that he could find even more unusual things.

This was exactly something he could need.

But then his eyes fell on that sun, that Hollow sun ... for some reason, he had a bad feeling about it.

”If this place is so good, why is entry limited?” one of the students asked loudly.

Silas answered directly this time.

”Are you stupid? The resources there are too valuable and important, of course it will not be open to everyone.” In fact, if it were up to the government, they did not even want these students to enter.

Unfortunately, the interference of some forces had made things difficult for them and they had found a way to get out from under this pressure.

And this was the first part of their plan.

Anyway, now the reason for the hall’s excitement was completely clear, this was not a simple ticket for a trip.

For a young student, a few weeks in such a place could make a huge difference in their growth speed.

The rewards appeared on the screen.

[Third Place]

[Seven-Day Entry Permit to the Land of First Dawn.]

[Second Place]

[Fourteen-Day Entry Permit to the Land of First Dawn.]

And then—

[First Place]

[Thirty-Day Entry Permit to the Land of First Dawn.]

[Access to the Inner Ring.]

[Registered Personal Companion Permit: 0]

[Right to personally collect resources according to exploration limits.]

[One choice from the special section of the academy store.]

[One private guidance session with one of the Enlightened Ones.]

[The first-place winner will obtain one skill with Holy Rank potential.]

[Each of the top three has the right to choose between any guild, the government, and the Federation and join them.]

But apart from that land, there was now another attractive reward, a skill with Holy Rank potential could be obtained, and a reward like this was extremely rare.

Lian was no longer just a little interested, now he truly wanted to take first place.

The images of the area changed one after another.

A plain, a river, a forest with golden trees, a blue lake, a small ruin with white roots growing around it.

Then, for less than two seconds, an image of a stone pillar appeared, the pillar was almost half broken.

Golden moss covered its lower part and a symbol was carved into its upper surface.

A circle that looked like a sun, but its center was completely empty, a ring with an empty heart, exactly like the sun in the sky.

Lian’s eyes stopped on it for a moment, there was something strange about the symbol and its similarity to the sun also showed that the sun itself was not shaped like that in this area for no reason.

In an unclear way, it caught his attention and once again gave him a bad feeling, but before he could look more carefully, the images disappeared and the islands of the Broken Crown appeared on the screen again.

”Now that I finally have your real attention, one last point.” Silas said calmly.

”In the Broken Crown, having a higher Level is an advantage, but it is not a guarantee, having a larger group is also an advantage, better equipment is the same, having a stronger class is the same.”

”But none of them are guarantees, the only thing that increases your chance of reaching the end is learning about the monsters and enemies faster than the test itself.”

And once again, his words were said in a way that no one could understand.

The professor raised his hand and the huge array under the main platform lit up.

White and blue lines spread across the floor and passed through the stone like glowing veins.

A few seconds later, the space above the platform twisted, a huge ring of light formed and a weak wind blew through the hall, then the ring opened.

Behind it, the gray sky of the test could be seen, a sea of black clouds and islands floating in the distance.

The excitement in the hall immediately turned into tension, what they were seeing was real, not a picture on a screen, they were really going to enter that realm.

Of course, this was more of a simulator than reality and they were not actually going to enter some kind of realm or Area.

”Participants will enter according to their registration numbers, from the moment you pass through the gate, your test will begin.”

The students stood up from their seats one after another, the rows began to move.

Rodrick also stood up, before moving toward the entrance, he gave Lian a short look, this time there was no smile.

The competition had begun.

Lian calmly looked away.

A few minutes later, it was Kain’s turn, before moving, he raised his fist toward him.

”We’ll find each other inside.” He said with a confident smile.

”If you don’t get eliminated before that.” The young Vorhelm gently bumped his fist against his.

”I’m Level 34 and I won’t be eliminated that easily.” Kain looked at him.

”And the test reacts to your performance, not your Level, be careful and try to use your brain.”

”Damn, I’ll try.”

”Good luck.”

”You too.”

Kain entered the light and disappeared.

A few more minutes passed.

”Lian Vorhelm.”

He stood up from his seat, more eyes turned toward him.

Some of those who had heard his Level were still whispering.

But he paid no attention to them, he calmly walked through the rows and reached the platform, Silas looked at him for a moment, only for a moment, but Lian felt that unlike most people, the man’s gaze did not stop at his Level or appearance.

It was as if he was checking something.

”Good luck, Vorhelm.” The professor said calmly.

”Thank you, Professor.” And then he entered the gate.

The world became dark and the sounds disappeared, for a moment, that same feeling of weightlessness from the transfer came over him again.

But this time it only lasted for a fraction of a second, and then the wind was the first thing he felt, a strong wind hit his body.

Lian opened his eyes, the huge gray sky was above his head and several black birds were moving very far away among the clouds.

He stood still for a few seconds and then lowered his gaze, only a few meters ahead, the ground ended, he had appeared right near the edge of a floating island.

There was nothing under his feet except an endless sea of black clouds.

Lightning flashed deep inside the clouds and the sound of their distant thunder reached his ears with a delay.

The young Vorhelm took one step away from the edge and then raised his head, more islands could be seen in the sky.

Dozens of islands, some very far away, some higher and some lower, and in the center of all of them was the upside-down mountain.

The golden crown shone like a small star on its highest point.

A panel appeared in front of him.

[The Broken Crown test has begun.]

[Participant: Lian Vorhelm.]

[Initial Crown Points: 100.]

[Protective Seal: Active.]

[Adaptive Evaluation: Active.]

[First Stage: Survival and Advancement.]

Lian read the text for a few seconds, then closed the panel, the island he was standing on was mostly covered by a dense forest.

Trees with gray trunks grew between the rocks and a thin mist moved close to the ground, no other student could be seen.

Good.

He took a few steps toward the forest and at that moment, he heard a sound....

Grrrrrrrrr....

A heavy sound came from between the trees, the branches moved and several birds flew out from among the leaves.

Then something large moved among the shadows.

He stopped and saw two yellow eyes open in the darkness, a few seconds later, a four-legged monster came out from between the trees.

Its body was almost three meters tall and thick gray skin covered its muscles, two curved horns came out from both sides of its head and its black claws dug into the ground beneath its feet.

The test panel appeared.

[The first test has been created.]

[Simulated Monster.]

[Level: 24.]

Lian looked at the creature for a few seconds, the monster showed its teeth and another growl came from its throat.

He only let out a short sigh.

”Only twenty-four?” Then he muttered with a little disappointment.

The monster roared and charged toward him.

And somewhere far away in the academy’s monitoring hall, the first evaluation data of Lian Vorhelm began to be recorded.
