The Beautiful CEO's Personal Mad Doctor

Chapter 99: Chapter 99: There Is Still One Person Who Can Destroy Cheng Yuan

Hu Shishi fell silent. Shen Manwen was Hu Duoduo’s best friend and a frequent guest at the Hu residence. They had a good relationship, and she was one of Hu Shishi’s few close friends.

She didn’t want to lose this friend if she could help it in any way.

”I only said that because of my pride. If Cheng Yuan becomes a Martial King, or even the legendary Martial God, and he decides to take concubines, could I stop him? If it were you, Manwen, I think I could accept it.”

Shen Manwen let out a small sigh of relief. ”Then what about Ruoxi? I get the feeling her ’pretend’ relationship is starting to become real for her, too.”

”Lin Ruoxi did get there first, so she can be included. But I have my limits. I have to be the primary wife.”

Shen Manwen let out a huge sigh of relief. ”With your talent and family background, Sister Shishi, it’s only right that you’d be the primary wife. I’m willing to be sisters with you for life.”

Hu Shishi shook her head with a wry smile. ’I never thought it would come to this for me.’

”Manwen, there’s actually no point in us discussing this. What really matters is Cheng Yuan’s attitude.”

Shen Manwen gave a bitter smile. ”Sister Shishi is right. It’s pointless for us to be discussing this. Out of the three of us, my chances are the slimmest. When I first met Cheng Yuan, I completely looked down on him and nitpicked everything he did. I even went and tattled to Ruoxi’s parents.”

Hu Shishi was very understanding. ”I investigated Cheng Yuan’s background. On the surface, he’s just an ex-convict. It’s not just you; I misunderstood him at first, too. It’s just that I was able to dig up more information than you. You were only trying to do what was best for Lin Ruoxi when you told her parents.”

”Ugh.”

Seeing Shen Manwen’s conflicted feelings, Hu Shishi said gently, ”Since you and Cheng Yuan have had some unpleasantness in the past, why don’t you show him around the Provincial City for a bit? I have a task I need to attend to.”

Shen Manwen knew Hu Shishi was creating an opportunity for her and looked at her with immense gratitude. ”Sister Shishi, don’t worry. No matter what happens in the future, you’ll always be the big sister I respect the most!”

The two women quickly returned to where Cheng Yuan was waiting.

Hu Shishi pulled out her phone and pretended to take a call. Then, with a serious expression, she said to Cheng Yuan, ”Cheng Yuan, a task just came up. Manwen can show you around.”

”Alright. Go take care of it, Sister Shishi.”

After they left the old Hu Family estate, Hu Shishi said her goodbyes, hopped in her jeep, and drove off.

Shen Manwen smiled and asked, ”Cheng Yuan, where would you like to go? The Provincial City has plenty of sights, and I know them all.”

Cheng Yuan rubbed his temples, looking tired. ”Let’s save the sightseeing for next time. Today took a lot out of me. Let’s just find a place to rest.”

Shen Manwen grew a little anxious. ’If we just get a hotel to rest, I won’t have a chance to connect with him and build our relationship!’

’That’s it!’

’We can go to Da Han Zhiya!’

’The baths are separated by gender, but we can be together for the sauna or a massage!’

’It’s the perfect chance to show off my great body to Cheng Yuan!’

”Come on, I know the perfect place.”

Ten minutes later, Shen Manwen led Cheng Yuan to Da Han Zhiya.

Cheng Yuan had assumed it was a hotel, but he was completely bewildered once they stepped inside.

As soon as they entered the lobby, two employees approached them.

”Sir, madam, please take off your shoes.”

As they spoke, they handed over wristbands.

Shen Manwen calmly slipped on her wristband, but Cheng Yuan had never been to a high-end spa before and had no idea what was happening. He shot a questioning look at Shen Manwen.

”Manwen, is this wristband a room key?”

PFFT! Shen Manwen couldn’t help but burst out laughing.

”No, silly. This wristband is for opening your locker and for making purchases.”

As they were talking, an employee belted out, ”One guest for the men’s baths! One guest for the women’s baths!”

Cheng Yuan could put two and two together. Hearing that shout, it instantly clicked: this wasn’t a hotel, it was a spa!

Cheng Yuan was suddenly a little embarrassed. ”Manwen, why did you bring me to a spa?”

Shen Manwen blinked her big, innocent eyes, putting on a look so pitiful it could stir anyone’s heart.

”Brother Cheng, you said you wanted to find a place to rest, didn’t you? A good soak, a session in the steam room, and a massage... it’s the best way to unwind.”

Cheng Yuan gave a wry smile. ”Well, since we’re already here, I guess this is fine.”

...

We’ll leave Cheng Yuan and Shen Manwen as they went to change for the baths.

「Second floor. Massage room.」

Gu Chen and a few of his cronies were playing cards in a small, private sauna room.

”Brother Chen, what’s up? Why did you call us all here so suddenly?”

”I’m flying out of the country first thing tomorrow morning. I might not see you guys for a long time, so let’s just call this my farewell party.”

”What? Why are you suddenly leaving the country, Brother Chen? Didn’t you just get engaged to Lin Ruoxi?”

”Don’t even talk about it. It’s all because of that bitch, Lin Ruoxi! She ran off to Luocheng to escape the marriage and found herself some meat shield.”

”FUCK! What suicidal bastard dares to steal Brother Chen’s woman? We have to crush him!”

Gu Chen gave a bitter smile. ”I already tried to deal with him, and that’s what caused this whole mess! The guy is too strong. He one-shotted both my Grandmaster bodyguards, and he knows some kind of Evil Technique. He nearly killed me!”

”What? He knows Evil Techniques, too? Then what do we do? What did Uncle Gu say?”

”My dad is cautious by nature. He won’t make a move until he’s sure of the guy’s background. My third uncle offered to help me get even, but then that kid went and cured Old Master Hu, earning him a favor from Hu Yidao! Now even my third uncle won’t touch him.”

The moment they heard Hu Yidao’s name, all the young men in the room fell silent.

Hu Yidao was an Innate Grandmaster, the chairman of the Dongshan Province Martial Dao Association. In all of Dongshan Province, aside from the two other Grandmasters, absolutely no one dared to cross him!

Gu Chen’s most loyal lackey, Wang Shun, was getting anxious. Once Gu Chen was gone, there’d be no one to protect him. He’d probably be pushed out of their elite circle of rich playboys.

After all, the only reason he was even in this circle was by brown-nosing Gu Chen!

Wang Shun’s mind raced, and he quickly came up with a brilliant idea.

”Brother Chen, you don’t actually have to leave! There’s someone else here in Dongshan Province who can crush that kid for you!”

Gu Chen’s spirits soared. ”Who?”

”Fifth Master Zhu!”

Gu Chen shot Wang Shun an irritated glare. ”Fifth Master Zhu isn’t afraid of Hu Yidao, that’s true. But he’s a martial arts fanatic who’s always in seclusion, completely cut off from the world. Even my dad can’t get him to lift a finger. What makes you think you can get him to help?”

Wang Shun gave a sinister smile. ”We don’t have to ask Fifth Master Zhu for help. What if... that kid cripples Zhu Yuncang?”

Zhu Yuncang?

Gu Chen’s eyes lit up, and he slapped his thigh.

”Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant! What a fantastic idea! Fifth Master Zhu has only one son, Zhu Yuncang. If something happens to him, the Fifth Master will fly into a thunderous rage! Even with Hu Yidao protecting him, Cheng Yuan would be a dead man!”

Gu Chen pulled out his phone and dialed Zhu Yuncang’s number, but there was no answer.

Then Gu Chen sent Zhu Yuncang a text: ”Yuncang, call me when you get this.”

After another round of cards, Gu Chen felt the call of nature. He got up to leave the sauna room, but a glance over his shoulder made his heart nearly leap out of his throat.

’Why are Cheng Yuan and Shen Manwen at Da Han Zhiya?’

’Are they here to hunt me down?’
