The Beautiful CEO's Personal Mad Doctor

Chapter 92: Chapter 92: Cheng Yuan Was Right After All

Gu Chen was overjoyed and quickly waved his hands. ”First Uncle and Third Uncle, you flatter me. It’s my honor to be able to help Old Master Hu.”

”Ah Chen, don’t be so polite. If you have any requests, just ask.”

Gu Chen didn’t stand on ceremony any longer, smiling as he said, ”I appreciate First Uncle’s and Third Uncle’s kind intentions. If I ever need to trouble you two in the future, I will definitely speak up.”

As he spoke, Gu Chen intentionally yet casually glanced at Cheng Yuan, the threatening implication unspoken but clear.

Shen Manwen grew nervous. If Gu Chen asked the Hu family’s First Uncle to deal with Cheng Yuan, she wouldn’t be able to protect him!

’What should I do?’

Shen Manwen subconsciously looked toward Cheng Yuan, only to find his expression placid, without a hint of nervousness.

Having ’cured’ Old Master Hu, Xue Mowen was in a rather good mood. He instructed, ”Master Dao, your esteemed father is quite weak. He shouldn’t eat too much right now. I recommend small, frequent meals, mostly liquids.”

”Understood.”

With that, Hu Yidao supported Old Master Hu and said respectfully, ”Father, shall I help you back to your room to rest?”

Old Master Hu nodded slightly. ”Alright.”

Gu Chen was quick-witted, moving before Hu Sanqiang to support Old Master Hu’s other arm.

Old Master Hu gave Gu Chen a kind nod. It was all thanks to Gu Chen for bringing Divine Doctor Xue; otherwise, he would have remained lying in his sickbed, unsure when he might just kick the bucket.

Just when the atmosphere was at its best, Cheng Yuan suddenly stepped forward. ”Old Master Hu absolutely cannot go back to his room! If he must return to a room, it has to be a different one! Otherwise, Old Master Hu’s body will collapse!”

Hu Yidao’s expression darkened. ’Will this kid ever stop?’

’Does he really think I’m good-tempered?’

However, with the old master’s health having improved so much, Hu Yidao was in a decent mood and merely shot Cheng Yuan a cold glance.

But Gu Chen didn’t want to miss this chance to badmouth Cheng Yuan. He said coldly, ”Cheng Yuan, what are your intentions? Are you cursing Old Master Hu? Can’t you bear to see the old master get well? Get lost! Stop being an eyesore in front of Old Master Hu and the Hu family’s First Uncle!”

Hu Sanqiang’s expression sank. He felt Cheng Yuan was going too far and shot Hu Duoduo an annoyed glare.

Hu Duoduo was kicking herself. She shouldn’t have brought such an unreliable character into the Hu family just because of Shen Manwen’s recommendation, getting herself criticized by her First Uncle.

”Manwen, why don’t you and Cheng Yuan go to the reception hall first?”

Among everyone present, only Shen Manwen knew how capable Cheng Yuan was. She had absolute faith in him.

”Duoduo, when have I ever led you astray? Please, just trust me this once, okay?”

”Well...”

Shen Manwen was her best friend, after all. Hu Duoduo could only sigh and look at Cheng Yuan with extreme seriousness. ”Mr. Cheng, you can follow us if you want, but from now on, do not speak out of turn! Do you hear me?”

Cheng Yuan shrugged. ’In a moment, you’ll all be begging me to speak!’

’It’s just a shame the old man has to suffer an undeserved disaster.’

Soon, the group returned to Old Master Hu’s bedroom. Supported by Hu Yidao and Gu Chen, Old Master Hu sat down on the bed.

Seeing that Old Master Hu seemed to be in high spirits, Gu Chen turned and looked coldly at Cheng Yuan. ”You, Cheng! Didn’t you say Old Master Hu’s body would collapse? Why is he perfectly fine? How do you still have the face to follow us here?”

Cheng Yuan couldn’t be bothered to deal with Gu Chen and slowly began to count, ”3... 2... 1...”

The crowd rolled their eyes, speechless. ’Is this kid a clown? Why did he start counting?’

Just as Cheng Yuan was counting, Old Master Hu suddenly frowned. The weather was clearly fine today, with the room temperature over twenty degrees Celsius.

But Old Master Hu felt waves of frigid air wash over him!

This frigid air instantly flooded into his forehead, entered his Sea of Consciousness, and wrapped itself around his Divine Soul.

Originally, the Residual Soul had been almost completely devoured by the Main Soul.

But, bolstered by this frigid air, the Residual Soul, as if injected with chicken blood, began to fight back, viciously biting the Main Soul!

”Nghh...”

Old Master Hu let out a muffled groan, his face contorting in agony. He raised a hand to clutch his head and pitched forward, falling toward the floor in front of the bed!

Everyone’s attention had been on Cheng Yuan. The scene was so sudden that for a moment, no one reacted!

By the time they realized what was happening, Old Master Hu’s head was less than ten centimeters from the floor!

Everyone’s face turned pale with shock!

”Father!!”

”Grandpa!!”

”Old Master Hu!!”

Hu Yidao reacted the fastest, desperately trying to save him, but he was still too slow. He could only watch in despair as his father’s head got closer and closer to the floor.

Hu Yidao was in despair. His father was so weak; if he took a fall like this, his body would definitely collapse!

In the nick of time, Cheng Yuan moved like a hunting cheetah. In a flash, he rushed in front of Old Master Hu, caught him in his arms, and gently laid him on the bed.

It wasn’t that Cheng Yuan was stronger than Hu Yidao, but that he had long been prepared for Old Master Hu to have a problem, which was why he was able to react instantly.

Otherwise, that fall would have likely been devastating for Old Master Hu.

Hu Yidao and Hu Sanqiang wiped the sweat from their brows, their hearts still pounding. They were both extremely grateful that they hadn’t thrown Cheng Yuan out just now.

Otherwise, the old master would have been finished!

Quickly, Hu Yidao and Hu Sanqiang noticed that their father’s condition wasn’t right. They rushed forward anxiously.

”Father, don’t scare us! What’s wrong?”

”Divine Doctor Xue, quickly, take a look at my father! What’s happening to him?”

Xue Mowen and Gu Chen’s hearts suddenly dropped!

’What’s going on with Old Master Hu?’

’Why does he look like he’s in so much pain?’

’Could that Cheng guy have actually been right?’

’Impossible!’

Xue Mowen stepped forward and placed a hand on Old Master Hu. His expression then turned very ugly. ”Evil Qi invasion? The Residual Soul is fighting back? How could this be?”

Hearing this, Gu Chen shuddered slightly. He subconsciously grabbed the edge of the bed to keep from falling to the floor!

’What the hell!’

’That Cheng guy actually guessed right!’

Cheng Yuan sighed. ”I gave multiple warnings just now, but no one believed me, causing the old master to suffer for no reason.”

Cheng Yuan’s tone was calm, but it was a slap in the face to everyone present.

Shen Manwen was both nervous and excited, clenching her fists tightly. ’I knew Cheng Yuan was the best!’

Hu Yidao and Hu Sanqiang lowered their heads in shame. Cheng Yuan had indeed warned them multiple times, but they hadn’t believed someone so young, choosing instead to trust Divine Doctor Xue.

’Look at us now. This is karma, isn’t it?’

In truth, the best course of action now was to ask Cheng Yuan for help. But Hu Yidao had been so cold to Cheng Yuan just moments ago that he couldn’t bring himself to speak. He could only look pleadingly toward Xue Mowen.

”Divine Doctor Xue, please save my father!”

Xue Mowen was so frustrated he wanted to kill himself. If he were at his peak, dispelling a little Evil Qi and suppressing a Residual Soul would be the easiest thing in the world.

But now, his Sea of Consciousness had suffered an incredibly powerful blow. The soul-summoning just now had already been a huge strain, and he was currently powerless to treat Old Master Hu.

Xue Mowen could only give a bitter smile. ”Master Dao, please forgive me, but I am powerless to help. You might as well ask Dr. Cheng. He should have a solution.”
