This Life, I'm Raising the Right Man

”Are you calling a dog?” Zhang Zhaodi couldn’t stand it anymore.

Zhang Pandi laughed, ”It’s just a small couple’s pastime, why are you meddling?”

”I haven’t even talked about you, and here you are talking about me. I’m matchmaking for you, but you seem interested in my nephew, wanting to do the same for Chunni. Chunni is still young, there’s no rush to arrange a marriage, but you should solve your own issues first.”

”I just feel it’s not quite right,” said Zhang Pandi. ”At this age, they don’t have children yet. Am I delaying them?”

”Aunt, don’t worry, you’re still young. I’ve helped you manage your health over the years, so if you want to have children, you can.”

”Am I still young? Don’t try to fool me.”

”Whether or not to have children, they never cared about this issue. Why do you care so much? They fancy you.”

Zhou Wangshu removed the facial clay from Su Yaoguang, and used the nearby water to cleanse the excess mask off her face.

”Do you have any fun stories to tell me today?” Su Yaoguang looked up at him.

”I do, I’ll tell you when we get back.”

He didn’t tell Zhang Pandi and the others about being the legitimate eldest son of the Cheng’an Hou Mansion. After all, the fewer people know about his plans, the better.

After dinner, the Zhang Family sisters continued to stroll in the courtyard, while Jiang Jing and Jia Chunni rarely visited the General Mansion, they wandered around.

Su Yaoguang returned to her room and listened as Zhou Wangshu talked about Marquis Cheng’an seeking him out.

Su Yaoguang soaked in the bathtub, leaning over the edge.

As Zhou Wangshu wiped her back, he recounted what Marquis Cheng’an said to him.

”He thinks that just by beckoning to me, I would pounce on him like a dog, acknowledge him as my father, and run back to inherit the Cheng’an Hou Mansion.”

”What do you plan to do next?”

”Continue keeping him on a leash. It’s him who’s eager to recognize me, not me. Cheng’an Hou Mansion is a mess needing someone to take over, and I am the most suitable choice. Even if I’m not his son, as long as there’s a hint of resemblance, he would beg me. An accomplished legitimate eldest son versus a rotten legitimate younger son, he should know which is preferable with his cunningness.”

”What if you keep him hanging for too long and he loses patience and discards you as a pawn?”

”I’ll give him a month to prove I’m his son. If I suddenly returned to Cheng’an Hou Mansion claiming I’m the legitimate eldest son, they would kick me out.”

”I won’t prove it, he’ll prove it himself.”

The difference between returning eagerly to Cheng’an Hou Mansion and being solicited to return is crucial.

”Moreover, claiming you have amnesia is to lull them and make them lower their guard,” Su Yaoguang said. ”Marquis Cheng’an didn’t personally do anything to you. His faults are negligence towards you and oppression of your maternal family. But he doesn’t know you’re aware of this, so he’s not guarded against you and even has hopes, wishing you’d bring prosperity to Cheng’an Hou Mansion.”

”Your biggest problem now is Marchioness Cheng’an. First, she was responsible for what happened back then, and she’s definitely guilty and afraid you’ll return seeking revenge. Second, she is a mother. No matter how vile Xia Zhen is, in her eyes, it’s someone else’s fault, her son is innocent. If you return, her son loses the right to inherit the title. She absolutely won’t let you return to Cheng’an Hou Mansion alive.”

”Yes, but I’m not defenseless,” Zhou Wangshu said. ”Yaoguang, give me half a year, and then I’ll return to the General Mansion.”

”Wait a minute...” Su Yaoguang turned to look at him, ”You’re planning to storm Cheng’an Hou Mansion alone and not taking me with you?”

”Knowing it’s a dragon’s lair and tiger’s den, how could I let you be trapped? You should happily be the General Mansion’s daughter, with father’s care and protection, no one dares to bully you. If you follow me to Cheng’an Hou Mansion, the fiends there will target you.”

”I tell you, Zhou Wangshu, you and I are a couple. No matter the difficulties ahead, we face them together. There’s no reason for you to fight alone upfront while I enjoy luxury in the back,” Su Yaoguang bit his lips. ”Do you hear me?”
