This Life, I'm Raising the Right Man

”It seems that the Young Master’s leg is difficult to treat.”

”It’s not just difficult, it’s extremely difficult to treat. Other doctors have already considered the worst possible outcome. Among them are either those who truly lack medical expertise or those who dare not take risks. I’m different; I have a prescription in mind that would work for this situation. It just requires time to prepare the herbs. I’ll have someone gather the herbs soon, and once I make that discontinuous ointment, the Young Master might have a chance to stand again.”

During dinner, Jiang Jing spoke of today’s happenings at Duke Zhen, and then mentioned she would do her utmost to save the Young Master, so that the Duke Zhen Country Mansion would owe them a favor.

Upon hearing Jiang Jing was going to treat the Duke of the Country’s Heir, Zhou Wangshu calmly said, ”Don’t treat him.”

Jiang Jing was puzzled, ”Why, brother-in-law?”

”The Duke of the Country’s Heir is not a good person,” Zhou Wangshu said calmly, ”He’s the leader of all the aristocratic wastrels. If such a person can never leave his bed, it’s good for others.”

”I’m a doctor, and if there’s a way to treat a patient, ignoring them due to a bad reputation would make me unpopular. I still decide to save him; if he’s truly evil, then heaven will deal with him, not me as a doctor. What’s more important is that Duke Zhen Country Mansion has summoned many doctors; I saw at least a dozen and many more I didn’t see. If the Duke of the Country’s Heir’s leg isn’t treated successfully, these ordinary doctors might not be spared.”

”With that being said, Jing’er really must treat him. Those nobles are detestable, but the ordinary people are innocent. Those doctors are all folk doctors; Duke Zhen can ruin them with just a wave of his finger, so she must give her all to save them.”

Jiang Jing nodded, ”There’s another reason: I want to test the medicine. The recipe is in my mind, but just remembered, never tested before. Now a living case presents itself, of course, I should utilize this case to study the effectiveness of the formula, so with other patients in the future, I can adjust the prescription promptly.”

Zhou Wangshu said nothing more.

Duke Zhen Country Mansion is detestable, and the Young Master is too, but as they said, ordinary people are innocent.

Moreover, curing the Duke of the Country’s Heir isn’t bad; when he’s better, he can make Xia Zhen suffer more than death.

Xia Zhen has been living arrogantly, now arranged with someone even more arrogant to play with him; I wonder if he’s crying now.

”There was another good show in town just now.” Zhang Yingdi returned from outside, shaking the water off her umbrella, and said, ”That Marquis Cheng’an brought his good son to Duke Zhen Country Mansion to apologize, saying that the Duke of the Country’s Heir broke his leg while trying to steal the Heir of the Marquis’s Ferghana Horse. Logically, Duke of the Country’s Heir personally went to steal someone’s horse and was bitten back, that’s his problem, but now it’s the Duke of the Country’s Heir who is injured, and Cheng’an Mansion has become the one apologizing cautiously.”

”It’s been raining outside; Marquis Cheng’an took his son to apologize, but Duke Zhen wouldn’t forgive him, so Marquis Cheng’an picked up a stone from the ground and smashed it against the Heir of Marquis Cheng’an’s leg. Amid such a scene, even Duke Zhen was taken aback and finally had to separate the father and son, help Marquis Cheng’an up, and only said to discuss further when their Heir wakes up.”

”What I’m more concerned about is the Ferghana Horse.” Chunni asked next to her, ”The storytellers say Ferghana Horses are very precious. The whole matter is because of this horse, does that mean both the Marquis Mansion and Duke Mansion will vent on this horse? But this horse was forcibly snatched and is the most innocent of all.”

”No need to worry.” Zhang Yingdi said, ”According to today’s visitors, the Ferghana Horse was very alert, kicked the Duke of the Country’s Heir and broke loose from its reins and ran away, and hasn’t been seen since. Anyway, both the Marquis Mansion and Duke Mansion are indeed searching for that horse, but so far no one has found it.”

”That’s good.”

Su Yaoguang recalled Zhou Wangshu once mentioning the Ferghana Horse.

It’s too much of a coincidence.

”Wang Shu, this horse...” Su Yaoguang looked at Zhou Wangshu beside her.

Zhou Wangshu did not hide from her and admitted, ”It’s the one I sent out.”

”Then...” Su Yaoguang said, ”The people from Cheng’an Hou Mansion won’t trouble you, will they? Given that bully’s behavior, it’s something he would do.”
