This Life, I'm Raising the Right Man

”General Su, you really have a lot of nerve...” The first minister who spoke froze as he saw the scene before him.

The sounds of moaning were not coming from Su Rende and Lady Rong, but from two old and ugly eunuchs.

The two eunuchs were playing obscenely, the scene was unbearable to watch, making one feel disgusted.

”Ah...” The women behind accidentally saw it and almost threw up.

”In response to the Crown Prince, inside are two old eunuchs engaging in filthy acts, there is no General Su or Lady Rong.”

”What are you doing here?” An old matron returned from outside, saw so many people in the hall, and asked questioningly, ”Lady Rong is currently accompanying the Emperor, do you have business with her?”

”Commander Wang, explain what is going on here? Did you not say that something happened to General Su? Now tell me, what happened to him?” The Crown Prince sharply stared at Commander Wang opposite him.

Commander Wang wiped his cold sweat and said, ”In response to the Crown Prince, I also heard reports from my subordinates. This matter is very serious, I dared not act on my own, hence I asked the Crown Prince to decide. I never thought it would be two old eunuchs here being reckless.”

”Guards, take those two old creatures away, give them each twenty lashes, then throw them to the Imprisonment Department, let Lord Li properly manage his people.”

”Your Highness, we have not seen General Su until now, could something have really happened to him? We should still find General Su.”

”You are looking for me?” Su Rende walked in from outside, ”I just passed by here, heard many people talking, and someone mentioned me, so I came to see what was happening. Crown Prince, esteemed ministers, how come you are in the inner palace? Can outsiders enter the inner palace so easily?”

”How come General Su is in the inner palace?” An official asked.

”The reason I am in the inner palace is because the Emperor summoned me, I just came back from him and was about to leave the palace.”

”It seems someone used the pretense of General Su being in trouble to expose the old eunuchs’ disgraceful act. Alright, this farce should come to an end.”

The Crown Prince dispersed everyone.

The Crown Prince’s final gaze lingered on Su Rende.

”General Su, come with me.”

The palace banquet ended, everyone had to leave the Imperial Palace.

The Crown Prince summoned Su Rende to the Eastern Palace.

Upon entering the Eastern Palace, the Crown Prince’s attendants brought the Imperial Physician over to treat Su Rende’s wounds.

Su Rende generously revealed his arm, displaying several sword cuts.

”The Crown Prince’s sense is sharp, having such a caring master, I truly feel lucky.”

”General Su, what exactly happened earlier?”

Mentioning the earlier incident, Su Rende’s expression grew solemn.

Earlier he was awakened after being splashed with water, and upon waking, saw Zhang Zhaodi’s worried face. Zhang Zhaodi pointed at his side and said, ”I saw two eunuchs bringing you in and putting you on the bed, now there’s a very beautiful woman lying next to you, you might want to see what’s going on.”

Before Su Rende could analyze the situation before him, she pointed to the two eunuchs lying on the ground and said, ”They are the ones who carried you over. I thought we know each other, couldn’t just watch you be plotted against by eunuchs, so knocked them out from behind.”

Seeing these people and the surroundings, Su Rende could easily guess what trouble he was in.

He found seductive fragrance in the room, and had Zhang Zhaodi extinguish it first. Once Zhang Zhaodi extinguished the fragrance, he climbed off the bed and woke Princess Consort Rong with cold tea water, then informed her that someone in the palace wanted to use them to eliminate each other, urging her to immediately seek the Emperor. Only with her at the Emperor’s side can gossip be effectively dispelled.

After Princess Consort Rong left, Su Rende told Zhang Zhaodi to leave first, and once she did, lit the seductive fragrance and took her away from Princess Consort Rong’s palace.

He was affected by the seductive fragrance, and lost some self-control. To keep himself lucid, he cut into his arm with a dagger to hold on.

As for Zhang Zhaodi, she was a simple villager; involving her in this bloody turmoil was unnecessary.

Worried about disrespecting Zhang Zhaodi, he cut one slash after another into his arm to maintain his sanity.

Zhang Zhaodi originally did not need to meddle, but to save him, she risked following the two eunuchs and rescued him from their hands.
