This Life, I'm Raising the Right Man

He dressed the boy in his clothes, put his jade pendant on him, and let him soak in the water for a few days until his face was unrecognizable before letting him float to the surface.

With the silver note he secretly took from the mansion, he wanted to leave that hell, but at a young age, he was like a lamb ready for slaughter. Having just escaped one dangerous place, he soon found himself in another. He was targeted by a human trafficker, and thus began a disastrous life.

Before leaving the Capital City, he discovered a secret: his maternal grandfather’s family was annihilated because his ”good” father provided some evidence. He was too young at the time to do anything, but he never forgot this mounting hatred and debt of blood.

”Wang Shu... Wang Shu...” Su Yaoguang waved her hand in front of Zhou Wangshu. ”What are you looking at?”

Zhou Wangshu snapped back to reality, smiled, and said: ”I drank a bit too much, feeling a little dizzy.”

”Then get in the carriage, we’ll go home.” Su Yaoguang supported Zhou Wangshu as they got into the carriage behind.

The front carriage was reserved for Su Rende and Zhang Zhaodi.

It wasn’t that she wasn’t economical with resources, but Su Rende and Zhang Zhaodi were acting more affectionately than the young people, and she wouldn’t let that young couple disturb the older couple.

Once on the carriage, Zhou Wangshu leaned over, holding her tightly.

”Are you feeling uncomfortable?” Su Yaoguang asked, ”Is it a headache? Or do you feel like vomiting?”

”I feel a little weak, just want to hold you. Yaoguang, let’s always be like this, never separated, alright?”

”Why so sentimental after a drink? It seems we haven’t been apart all these years!” Su Yaoguang touched the back of his hand.

Zhou Wangshu rested his head on her shoulder, nuzzling against her neck.

Su Yaoguang stroked his hair, like petting a small dog.

”Yaoguang, if one day I become scary, would you hate me?”

”How scary? Will you bully me?”

”No.”

”Will you bully my parents?”

”No.”

”Then will you bully...”

”I won’t bully those we both care about,” Zhou Wangshu said.

”Then what is there to fear? No matter what you do, I believe you have your reasons. If you bully someone, it must be the other’s fault. Otherwise, why would you only bully that person? It means there’s a problem with that person.” Su Yaoguang said, ”As long as you do not go against your conscience, I will support you all the same.”

Zhou Wangshu kissed her forehead: ”My Yaoguang is truly wonderful.”

”If you’re not feeling well, just close your eyes and rest a bit, I’ll wake you when we get to the General Mansion.”

”Yaoguang...” Zhou Wangshu said coyly, ”Let’s have a child!”

Su Yaoguang: ”...”

Zhou Wangshu took her hand, kissed it by his lips: ”With a child, I will have a blood relative.”

”Master Zhou Wangshu...” Su Yaoguang held his face, ”Isn’t that up to me? No matter how hard I try, I can’t have a child alone; it takes effort from you too. If you like children, I have no objections. We can have as many as you want.”

Zhou Wangshu chuckled.

”Don’t laugh.” Su Yaoguang nudged him, ”You’re really strange today, what on earth happened?”

”Actually, I’ve been hiding something from you.” Zhou Wangshu said holding her, ”That incident today with Xia Zhen... was my doing.”

Su Yaoguang paused for a moment, but thought of what Xia Zhen had done to him before, thinking of how that person had acted so tyrannically.

”People like that deserve it. Consider it a service to the people, why would that be something to be unhappy about?”

”Besides past grievances, there’s another reason,” Zhou Wangshu said, ”That Xia Zhen is my half-brother.”

”What are you saying?” Su Yaoguang was stunned, ”Then you’re the heir to the Cheng’an Hou Mansion...”

”Yes, I am the legitimate eldest son of the Cheng’an Hou Mansion. My mother was originally the first wife of the Marquis Cheng’an. After her family was ruined, she couldn’t handle the blow, fell ill, and quickly passed away. After my mother’s death, Marquis Cheng’an soon married a new wife. That woman pretended to be loving and kind to me, but behind the scenes, she tortured me in every way she could. Discovering that the Marquis Cheng’an didn’t care about my life, she became more and more ruthless. Those years, on the surface, I was the legitimate eldest son of the Cheng’an Hou Mansion, but I lived worse than a dog. Later, she tried to kill me, but I discovered it in advance and managed to fake my death and escape. In that family’s eyes, I’m already dead. However, all these years, I have never stopped thinking about revenge.”
