Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 2877: Chapter 2813: Such a Grand Affair

”So extravagant?” Jiang Xiao was taken aback for a moment. The Capital City Grand Hotel is indeed a landmark hotel in the Capital City. It’s big, grand, and has history. It’s said that the chefs there used to work as imperial chefs in the court.

For some years, these people didn’t dare make a peep, but in the past two years, they’ve found the courage, and some dared to hire them at high salaries to work again.

Imperial chefs, nothing else needs to be said; their culinary skills must be outstanding.

Therefore, the food at the Capital City Grand Hotel has always been more expensive than many other restaurants, and it’s in a different class. Most ordinary people simply can’t afford it.

Not to mention others, even Jiang Xiao hasn’t been there yet.

She used to think she was quite down-to-earth, and even felt that food from small eateries tasted better.

So now, upon hearing that Kuang Yunxian and Du Jinruo’s wedding banquet would be held at the Capital City Grand Hotel, Jiang Xiao felt a bit surprised.

”Indeed.” Wang Yi said with a bit of gossip: ”Let me tell you, I’ve heard that this was one of the conditions the Du Family agreed to for the marriage.”

”To hold the banquet at the Capital City Grand Hotel? That condition?” Jiang Xiao was puzzled.

Wang Yi nodded: ”Yes, the Du Family feels it gives better reputation and makes others think Du Jinruo isn’t marrying as poorly as they might think, and that Kuang Yunxian is also quite wealthy.”

With Du Jinruo’s looks, she was the pride and joy of her parents since childhood.

They always took pride in having such a beautiful daughter, and Du Jinruo has always heard people say that with her looks, how could she not find someone good to marry?

Everyone believed she would marry very well, indeed.

But in the end, Du Jinruo married Kuang Yunxian.

For an average family, of course, Kuang Yunxian’s conditions are quite good.

The Kong Family is a Family of Scholars, and his personal conditions are also excellent—he is a university professor, secretary of the association, a calligrapher, and personally, he is quite handsome, of imposing appearance.

In the university, he’s the kind of man surrounded by many female colleagues and students.

But now, the Kong Family has fallen, especially after the issues with Kuang Kanzhi, and a university professor seems to still fall short compared to the Du Family, providing no significant support.

In the eyes of many, Du Jinruo has unexpectedly married beneath her.

Hence, the Du Family required the banquet to be held at the best-known Capital City Grand Hotel so that others would still think Kuang Yunxian’s conditions were good.

Many people would envy Du Jinruo for marrying a husband who could afford to hold a banquet at the Capital City Grand Hotel.

”Then, to show off, they must have invited a lot of people, right?” Jiang Xiao asked again.

Wang Yi said: ”Of course, didn’t you notice? Even though our family doesn’t have much connection with theirs, they sent us an invitation. I heard they set up twenty tables.”

In these times, being able to have twenty tables is definitely a sensational wedding banquet.

After all, it’s not like the new century where with developed transportation, you can quickly take high-speed trains, planes, or get there for a wedding at any time.

Now, if relatives and friends live far away, it’s not that easy to come just for a glass of wedding wine.

And the current trend isn’t much about showing off; people are quite modest. Generally, weddings are about being lively rather than about grandiosity.

Jiang Xiao asked with some curiosity: ”But doesn’t Kuang Yunxian have no relatives or friends left at home now?”
