Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 2854: Chapter 2790: Gotta Buy a House

”The house isn’t yours?”

Jin Mang looked a bit surprised, ”We originally didn’t want to focus on problems related to the house. Nowadays, anyone with a good job has a company-provided house, right? But you’re different; you don’t even have a proper job. That’s why we’re asking about this house; we can’t have our Little Yi suffer with you without a place to live.”

Aunt Chen quickly said, ”No, of course not. After they get married, they will still live at our house, and in the future, the house will naturally be theirs...”

Before she could finish, Lee Li interjected, ”Who knows what will happen in the future.”

”I’m planning to buy another house in the future, and then we can put the new house in Little Yi’s name,” Chen Yin said.

Wang Yi looked at him.

He had already told her that whatever conditions the Wang Family asked for, he would agree to, and now it seems he really meant it.

Wang Yi felt touched.

And she knew that when Chen Yin talked about buying a house, he wasn’t just paying lip service. He was already preparing to enter this business, constantly working hard. In the future, he planned to build houses himself to sell, so buying another house for themselves was very likely, and it was just a matter of time.

However, after hearing Chen Yin’s words, Lee Li and Jin Mang exchanged glances and seemed disbelieving.

”Again with ’in the future,’ who knows what the future holds? You say buy, and then you can purchase it?”

”Exactly, you don’t even have a proper job, who knows if you’ll earn enough money in the future. We don’t even know if Little Yi will suffer following you, how can we expect you to save for a house? How about you buy one now and put it in her name, then we’d believe you.”

Chen Yin actually wanted to buy.

But he had considered this before, and the properties available now were mostly old, being sold only when people had complications, leading to fewer listings and mediocre environments, so buying them wasn’t very useful.

Since he planned to run a real estate business in the future, why not invest this money into the business? Once his own buildings are up, they can choose the best, killing two birds with one stone.

However, he hadn’t discussed this matter with Wang Yi yet, mainly because they had a house to live in already, and he hadn’t expected Wang Yi’s family to single out the issue of housing.

Nowadays, getting married with the ”three big items” means the family’s conditions are quite good.

What are the three big items?

A bicycle, a cassette player, and a sewing machine.

If someone was even more capable, they’d add a black-and-white TV and a wristwatch.

Chen Yin had already mentally prepared, thinking the Wang Family might want all five items, so he was ready.

He was willing and happy to give all five items.

But now they mentioned the house...

”What’s the matter? Is it really difficult? Seems like what you said before was just nice-sounding talk,” Jin Mang said.

Jiang Xiao noticed that Father Wang and Mother Wang hadn’t said a word, letting Jin Mang and Lee Li keep talking, and realized this might be their intention.

Perhaps they felt a bit embarrassed to discuss such matters, knowing that Jin Mang and Lee Li didn’t hold back when they spoke. It was most fitting for them to bring up these issues.

If it hadn’t been their intention, how could they allow Jin Mang and Lee Li to keep going on like this?
