Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 2217: Chapter 2153: Show the Evidence

Moreover, it was taking an outsider’s work!

This is ruining the reputation of the Academy of Fine Arts!

Can’t the Academy of Fine Arts produce good painters? To the point of having to steal someone else’s painting?

After learning about this, the principal, the directors, and several teachers were furious.

”That painting really was done by me,” Ye Wanqing gritted her teeth and said, looking at Liu Guoying, ”Teacher Liu, I know you are Chiang Xiao’s teacher. I have some misunderstandings with Chiang Xiao, so you’ve always had a problem with me, but you can’t just accuse me like this lightly. Didn’t you ask me to redraw that painting on that day, and I did it? You believed it was my work back then. How can you go back on your word now?”

”Are you saying I am accusing you because of Chiang Xiao?” Liu Guoying was enraged, ”I, Liu Guoying, would not stoop so low! When I say there is evidence, there is indeed evidence!”

He stood up, walked over to fetch a painting, brought it to the table, and asked Ye Wanqing, ”Come, look at this. Is this not the painting you submitted that day? Look at it carefully!”

Ye Wanqing didn’t understand what he was trying to do, but at this point, she had no retreat, so she immediately stepped forward and examined the painting closely.

”Yes, it is this painting.”

”Good, you said it yourself. Now, let me ask you, you claimed to use the signature ’Qing,’ the ’Qing’ with three dots of water, right?”

Because that painting indeed had a signature, it was the character ’Qing.’

At that time, Ye Wanqing said she specifically chose that character and even signed it once accordingly.

Back then, Liu Guoying was deceived by her.

But later on, he kept examining the painting and discovered there was more to it than met the eye.

”Yes.” Ye Wanqing nodded.

Liu Guoying asked again, ”Besides that, was there any other signature?”

”No.”

Ye Wanqing had naturally studied the painting and found nothing else.

Hearing her denial, Liu Guoying’s gaze turned cold, and he said, ”Then good, let me show you.”

He took a small bottle of liquid out of his pocket.

”This is iodine.”

He opened the cap, and sure enough, everyone nearby smelled the iodine.

Then he took a cotton swab, dipped it in the iodine, and began applying it to a corner on the back of the painting.

Soon, a line of text appeared on what was originally a blank sheet of paper.

—— Qingshuang, June 3, 1982, Luofeng Institute, afternoon.

As soon as this line of text appeared, everyone was shocked.

Ye Wanqing was shocked too.

What is this!

Who could tell her why there was another line of text at the back of the painting?

And on June 3, 1982!

”Do you see? The facts are right in front of you. The creator of this painting is someone named Qingshuang! The creation time is 1982!” Liu Guoying said angrily, ”What else is there to argue about? I’ve truly never seen such a depraved student like you! Stealing another’s painting, exhibiting under a false name, and then refusing to repent!”

”I...” Ye Wanqing was so stunned by this line of text that her mind went blank, and she replied instinctively, ”This must be something you deliberately did to frame me!”

Liu Guoying was so angry his beard trembled as he pointed at himself, ”You think I would go to such lengths to frame you? Look carefully, this line of text matches the painting’s original signature!”

The principal, with a stern face, said, ”Moreover, I know of Luofeng Institute; Teacher Liu never mentioned knowing this place. Despite its nice name, it’s just an orphanage.”
