Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 2210: Chapter 2146: You Make a Choice Too

If Ge Liutao forgot, Chiang Xiao would remind her.

Looking at Ge Liutao’s somewhat reddened eyes, she continued, ”She would rather choose a married man and abandon her parents and daughter. Grandma, you want me to shamelessly beg her to come back and be my mom, to return and let me support her, spend the money I earn on her, and maybe even let it be used on another man. Watching her weep in front of me every day, and seeing her act coy with men? Let her come back and entangle my dad, so my dad can never forget how he ended up sleeping with a shameless woman in such unclear circumstances back then?”

Her words were truly merciless, but this was the reality.

”Just because she is your daughter, do I have to recognize her and treat her like a goddess? Grandma, you can recognize her, but why must you drag me into this? I know, no matter what, I can’t compare to her in your heart, even though I was abandoned by her and endured years of humiliation and bullying because of her. Even now, I have to constantly clean up the mess she left behind. Just because she is your daughter, should I accept this without complaint and treat her well?”

”Little, I didn’t mean it that way, I...”

Ge Liutao was dumbfounded, ”How could I think you are less than her...”

”You didn’t say so, but that’s exactly what you’re doing now, isn’t it? No matter what I’m like, as long as you recognize her, right?”

Ge Liutao looked at Chiang Xiao, and this time, she clearly saw the coldness in Chiang Xiao’s eyes.

It was disappointment and sorrow towards her.

Ge Liutao anxiously wanted to grab Chiang Xiao’s hand, ”Little...”

Chiang Xiao retracted her hand, and her tone grew colder.

”Fine, let’s not talk about anything else, just about your recent plan to let Chen Zhu continue with Kuang Kanzhi. Have you ever thought about when they can’t get along anymore, will they come to me again? Do you think they’ll come knocking on our door again? Have you never considered the purpose of what we’re doing?”

To ensure that Kuang Kanzhi would have no chance or reason to come back to her.

If he continued with Chen Zhu, he would never forget her relationship with Chen Zhu. It’s like planting a bomb for herself, which could explode at any time.

She wasn’t crazy; how could she do something so stupid?

”You can forgive her again and again, that’s your business, she’s your daughter, you can accept her. But as I said, I will never acknowledge any relationship with her.”

Chiang Xiao said, ”So, if you really insist on acknowledging her, it’s the same as choosing to abandon me.”

She knew that saying such things to Ge Liutao was a bit cruel, but if she didn’t, who knows what Ge Liutao would do in the future.

”Grandma, you should think it over,” Chiang Xiao added, ”Also, think about the child you’re carrying. Chen Zhu will never change; she relied on her parents before she was twenty and has been relying on men ever since. When she’s old and has no man to depend on, guess who she’ll rely on? I don’t know if the child in your belly is my uncle or aunt, but I have to say, when they grow up, think about whether you can still earn money. If not, when you’re old, either I support you, or he will. And I will definitely not give you an extra penny to support Chen Zhu, so it will fall on him.”

Ge Liutao was shaken and unconsciously placed her hand on her belly.
