Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 1534: Chapter 1536: Protecting His Reputation

Chiang Xiao’s face darkened.

”I certainly have not acknowledged her as my mother.”

Kuang Qingqing sneered, ”Ha, what a joke, you think you can just deny it if you say so? Are you and your mother both so shameless? Your mom freeloaded at our house for ten years and just wouldn’t leave, and now you know, you don’t want to take her with you, are you planning to cling to the Kong family like her? You don’t think my dad’s love for her will extend to you too, and you’d become his daughter, do you? You want to take the Kong family name, right?”

”Qingqing!” Xiao Fang reprimanded in a lower voice.

Kuang Qingqing glared, ”Am I wrong?”

”Do you really think the Kong family has a throne to inherit? Do I need to cling to the Kong family?” Chiang Xiao said coldly, ”With a man like Kuang Kanzhi, even if he really were my father, I’d rush to publicly announce my disownment; not to mention he isn’t. I’d avoid him at all costs, how could I possibly cling to him?”

”You! What do you mean by that?” Kuang Qingqing was furious.

”What do I mean, can’t you understand? Knowing that Chiang Qingzhu’s man isn’t Kuang Kanzhi, and knowing I’m not his child, I truly breathed a sigh of relief! Otherwise, with that kind of dad, and you as a sister, life wouldn’t be worth living!”

”Chiang Xiao!”

Such blatant scorn and contempt made Kuang Qingqing so angry she felt her eyes could pop out.

Xiao Fang, too, did not expect Chiang Xiao to have such an attitude towards the Kong family, and towards Kuang Kanzhi. Shocked as she was, she suddenly felt a bit of vindication in her heart upon hearing Chiang Xiao’s words.

Yes, what a man Kuang Kanzhi is!

”In that case, Chiang Xiao,” she calmly continued, ”you should be even more responsible for taking your mother out of the Kong family. You must understand, now that she has been acknowledged as a daughter, if she continues to stay at the Kong family, the public will speak even worse of her. Ah Zhu’s bad reputation affects you as well, and besides, you are Meng Xinian’s fiancée, you have to consider his feelings too, right?”

Indeed, what Xiao Fang said was a fact.

If Chiang Qingzhu continued to live in the Kong family house, her reputation would only worsen.

Especially if their relationship comes out later, outsiders will find it even more incredible. How could the daughter, whose parents have been found, continue to live in someone else’s home without status?

And for Meng Xinian to have such a mother-in-law, he would certainly be mocked by others.

Gao Wei, Fong Jianye, and those people, aren’t they just waiting to laugh at him?

Truly, Chiang Qingzhu should be taken out of there.

Xiao Fang added, ”Your mother’s health wasn’t good before, so to avoid upsetting her, we’ve let her stay at home, and haven’t explained much to the outside world. But if you take her home now, she’s found her family, then our two families can sit down together, think of a way, and clear up Ah Zhu’s past reputation.”

She paused, then said, ”We can totally say, it was all for treating her illness, she was sick before, couldn’t remember who she was, so we’ve been helping her look for her family, and now she has finally been found.”

Is that being found?

Chiang Qingzhu has always been lucid, was there ever a search?

Chiang Xiao scoffed with mockery.

”Also, if possible,” Xiao Fang bit her lower lip and said, ”you’ll need to cooperate with us, say a few good words about Qingqing’s father, just say that he was only kind-hearted, willing to save your mother, reluctant to disclose her condition, and that’s why he bore so many years of infamy.”

Having heard this, Chiang Xiao couldn’t help but look at her, ”Madam Xiao, do you still want to protect Kuang Kanzhi now?”
