Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 1512: Chapter 1514: Psychological Trauma

Chiang Xiao and Kuang Kanzhi unexpectedly climbed the same staircase.

A moment of awkward silence set between the two.

Upon reaching the third floor, Kuang Kanzhi stopped, looked at Chiang Xiao whose lips quivered slightly before he let out a sigh, saying, ”Chiang Xiao, I didn’t expect you to be Ah Zhu’s daughter. Your mother’s health isn’t great, nor is her mental state. May I earnestly request that, during our conversation later, you be more accommodating towards her, especially avoid shouting at her?”

Chiang Xiao was taken aback.

What does this mean?

Chiang Qingzhu’s mental state isn’t great?

Avoid shouting at her?

”It’s complicated and can’t be explained in a few words. If not for the need to remind you of this, I wouldn’t go against Ah Zhu’s wishes to discuss this with you,” Kuang Kanzhi sighed deeply again, then continued, ”I know you have a very strong personality, absolutely unlike Ah Zhu, which is why I must ask you in advance to be gentler with her.”

”Why?” Chiang Xiao asked.

Kuang Kanzhi looked a bit troubled, ”Ah Zhu... she experienced something very traumatic in the past, which was extremely horrifying. That ordeal caused her severe psychological trauma, she’s been startled easily ever since, and she’s been on medication for many years without a break.”

Chiang Xiao was stunned.

She didn’t expect to hear such an answer.

So, is this why Kuang Kanzhi has always spoken to her so gently?

But what about Kuang Qingqing?

According to Yun Xian, over the years Kuang Qingqing has played no small number of pranks on Chiang Qingzhu, and has caused her quite a bit of trouble. How come Chiang Qingzhu seemed unaffected and still appeared to be well cared for?

Chiang Xiao knew hearing about her birth mother’s terrifying experience and the resulting psychological trauma should have moved her, but her first reaction was skepticism, which made her seem very indifferent.

But then, she was indeed very indifferent.

Having already died once in her past life, does she have to be all heart and soul compassionate?

Besides, even if someone has suffered psychological trauma, does that mean they can’t contact their family?

”Chiang Xiao, promise me,” Kuang Kanzhi reiterated with a more serious tone.

Chiang Xiao really wanted to ask him on what grounds he was making this request, but in the end, she just nodded.

She wouldn’t shout at Chiang Qingzhu, indeed, she wouldn’t.

Kuang Kanzhi breathed a sigh of relief and said, ”That’s good then. After I deliver the thing to Qingqing, I’ll go down first to take Ah Zhu away. The hospital environment isn’t good for her if she stays too long; it upsets her. We’ll wait for you at the Xianyun Teahouse not far from here, you know the place, right?”

Passing the Xianyun Teahouse en route to the hospital was a given, Chiang Xiao nodded and turned to continue upstairs.

Wang Yi’s ward was on the fourth floor.

”Strange, Chiang Xiao said she’d be here soon, she should be here by now, why hasn’t she arrived?”

As Chiang Xiao reached the door to Wang Yi’s ward, she heard Jin Lei’s voice, followed by the voice of Chen Yin.

”It’s possible that she walked here.”

He remembered that if the distance wasn’t too far and she wasn’t in a hurry, Chiang Xiao preferred to walk.

Chen Yin, he is here as well?

It seems he is really keen on Wang Yi now.

Chiang Xiao stood still at the door, took a deep breath to suppress her emotions, and was just about to step in when she heard Ye Wanqing’s voice coming from down the hallway.

”Cousin, can you walk faster? You’re gasping just by climbing four floors.”

Chiang Xiao’s eyes became colder.

To think she could bump into Ye Wanqing even at the hospital?

Turning her head, she saw Ye Wanqing carrying a bag of fruits, with Lee Wenwei trailing behind her, looking utterly listless.
