Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 1504: Chapter 1506: Tyrant Meng is Up to Something

On the other end of the phone, Chiang Xiao was taken aback upon hearing this.

Meng Xinian also had a room in the house. Of course, he always tried to shamelessly squeeze into her room to sleep with her. Sometimes he’d stay in her room when she was home; she was aware of that. However, he had never done anything like changing the sheets or duvet covers.

What’s going on today?

He’s going to wash her sheets?

She found it incredibly unbelievable. From what she knew about Tyrant Meng, when she wasn’t around, the last thing he’d want to do was wash her sheets because, as mentioned in his letters, he liked the scent of her on the bed.

She once said that she loved her freshly laundered and sun-dried sheets because they smelled like the sun. Although someone later mentioned that it wasn’t the scent of the sun, but rather the smell of mites being sun-scorched to death.

But she refused to think that way, stubbornly believing it was the scent of the sun. Afterwards, Meng Xinian told her that he didn’t mind washing his own blanket but he disliked washing her bed linen because if he didn’t wash them, they would retain her scent.

For some reason, Chiang Xiao suddenly recalled this particular conversation between them.

Now, Tyrant Meng is going to wash her blanket?

She heard Meng Xinian’s voice and, for some reason, it sounded kind of weird.

”I sweated a lot last night. I’ll wash it for her, so she doesn’t come back to the smell of sweat.”

Chiang Xiao: ”...”

It’s almost November, there’s a slight chill in the evenings. Sweating a lot?

So much that there’s a smell of sweat?

She just held the receiver and listened.

Then she heard Ge Liutao say, ”Just leave them there, I’ll wash it later. Breakfast is ready, go eat first.”

Meng Xinian, guilty as charged and not realizing Ge Liutao was on the phone, added, ”No need, Grandma, I’ll wash it!”

Ge Liutao then saw him dashing out with the sheets in his arms.

She blurted out unintentionally, ”Xinian, how come he’s sweating so much in this weather? He doesn’t need to run that fast to wash the sheets, as if I’m going to steal them from him.”

Chiang Xiao speechless: ”He took the sheets to the yard to wash them?”

”Yes, he ran quite fast. He must not know I’m talking to you. Just wait, I’ll call him to talk to you. He’s a grown man, he wouldn’t know how to wash a blanket. I’ll do the washing.”

Ge Liutao put down the phone, took a few steps, and shouted, ”Xinian! It’s Xiaoxiao’s call. Come talk to her while I go wash the sheets.”

Then Chiang Xiao faintly heard Meng Xinian’s voice again.

”Ah? No need, Grandma, tell Xiaoxiao I’ll call her back later!”

Chiang Xiao: ”...”

Has she been downgraded in his heart?

If it were before, he wouldn’t care about washing sheets at this moment and would’ve already come flying over to answer the call!

Are the sheets that important now?

Chiang Xiao couldn’t help thinking, Tyrant Meng is up to something.

”Xiaoxiao, Xinian said he’ll call you back later.”

”Oh, alright.”

After hanging up the phone, Chiang Xiao leaned on the sofa, touching her chin, wondering, What’s with Meng Xinian this time?

Really sweated too much, too embarrassed to let Grandma wash it?

Deputy Officer Meng, who was scrubbing the sheets with water: ”...”

If you looked closely, you would see that his face and ears were red.

This is really...

Extremely embarrassing.

If Chiang Xiaoxiao found out, she would definitely call him a big clumsy oaf!

But can he be blamed for this?
