Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 1523: Chapter 1525: Love at First Sight

Originally, finding a man without clothes in a cave should have sent her screaming and running away. However, perhaps it was because good looks equate to justice – the man looked over in slight surprise, his face illuminated warmly by the firelight, flames dancing in his pupils, making him look irresistibly handsome, almost otherworldly.

Born and raised in the village, and barely visited the town, in the seventeen years of Chiang Qingzhu’s life, she had only seen the daily dull and grim faces covered in dust and the wear of the elements, used to the coarseness of the rural villagers and had never seen a man so fair and handsome.

She had never seen such clear eyes either.

In any case, she was so spellbound that she didn’t leave.

”Are you here to take shelter from the rain?” the man asked, his voice so appealing that it made Chiang Qingzhu’s ears tingle.

Then she noticed a white shirt and a pair of long pants draped over a branch next to the fire, finally realizing the man was not dressed.

Her face turned bright red, and she immediately turned away.

”Ah, I’m sorry, I’m sorry! I forgot what my father taught me about men and women not being too familiar with each other!”

Behind her came the man’s slightly anxious voice, followed by some rustling noises.

”It’s okay, I’ve put on my clothes. You can turn around now. Your clothes are also wet, do you want to dry them?”

Chiang Qingzhu hesitantly walked over. Indeed, she was feeling a bit cold, but there was no way she could undress near a man.

The man, now dressed, looked even more handsome.

A white shirt and black pants.

She had only ever seen such attire worn by town officials when she visited the town.

But nobody wore them better than he did.

”Sister, what is your name? I’m Ah Liu.”

”I’m only seventeen years old!”

Even though he looked about the same age, Chiang Qingzhu still felt a bit displeased.

”Then, shall I call you little sister?”

”Who wants you to call me little sister, I, I am Chiang Qingzhu.”

And so, they began to talk.

He had an air of scholarship about him, clearly educated, making her seem like an unknowledgeable little girl in comparison.

Gradually, Chiang Qingzhu felt that he spoke and acted somewhat childishly at times, but when those clear eyes of his looked over, she would be dazzled, unable to think or see clearly.

Chiang Qingzhu felt that this must be what they call love at first sight in the operas.

The kind that is especially intense and profound.

Later, she found herself in a daze, realizing she had a fever.

Ah Liu came over to sit beside her, reaching out to touch her forehead, ”When I used to have a fever, my mother and sister would also touch my forehead like this. Let me do it for you, and you’ll feel better.”

Hearing this, Chiang Qingzhu nearly laughed. That was to check the temperature; how could simply touching make it better?

But she didn’t feel his hand was cold; it was rather hot.

He had a fever too.

The two feverish individuals eventually ended up embracing each other, though Chiang Qingzhu wasn’t quite sure how it happened. But she knew, in her heart, that she was the one who had crossed that final threshold.

Because she realized he knew nothing, he only reacted physically when holding her.

Although she was also inexperienced in these matters, the lewd joking among villagers like Lee Shu meant she was, at the very least, more knowledgeable than him.

As they huddled together for warmth, in her dazed and dizzy state, she beheld his handsome face and yearned to be even closer to him, more intimate.
