Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 1425: Chapter 1427: I Want to be the Class President

Their fate was truly destined.

In this dormitory, only Ye Wanqing and Chiang Xiao were in the same class.

Upon realizing this, Ye Wanqing was nearly infuriated to death.

She didn’t want to be in the same class with Chiang Xiao at all!

If she could stay far away from Chiang Xiao, she would definitely be happy!

However, now she had no way to separate herself from Chiang Xiao, nor could she apply for a dorm change.

If she applied for a dorm change at this time, it would only make people think she was cowardly, that she feared Chiang Xiao, and that she was showing weakness. This would leave her no chance to turn the situation around.

This was something Ye Wanqing was absolutely unwilling to accept.

She gritted her teeth and embraced a principle: where you fall, there you must rise.

Thus, with her reputation now in tatters because of Chiang Xiao, she must find a way to make everyone see her rise from Chiang Xiao’s shadow, and moreover, to trample Chiang Xiao down!

If she did not avenge this, she would no longer carry the Ye surname!

Chiang Xiao naturally ended up in Liu Guoying’s class, although, aside from a few who knew of her relationship with Liu Guoying, not many in the class knew she was Liu Guoying’s proud student, the beautiful young genius Painter, Xiao Chiang.

Although the name Xiao Chiang already had some fame, ordinary people wouldn’t connect Chiang Xiao with Xiao Chiang upon first hearing it, after all, there were so many people with the surname Chiang, Xiao Chiang might not necessarily be a Chiang.

But being recognized was only a matter of time.

Liu Guoying’s fame was growing ever greater.

He initially wanted Chiang Xiao to be the class president, but she immediately refused.

”You don’t want to be class president?” Liu Guoying flared up, his eyes bulging.

Being class president meant helping him manage class affairs, helping him out, and she dared to say she was unwilling?

”I’m lazy,” said Chiang Xiao.

Liu Guoying was taken aback, momentarily at a loss for words.

”Then let the classmates decide through an election,” he grunted. How did he end up with such a student?

To boldly declare laziness like that!

It was truly infuriating.

”Whatever.”

The moment the decision for a class president election was announced, Ye Wanqing signed up.

Chiang Xiao couldn’t help but laugh when she heard about it.

She knew Ye Wanqing liked such superficial fame, and moreover, becoming class president could at least partially salvage her previous reputation.

But, there were also quite a few people in the class who had heard about the incident in the cafeteria, and Chiang Xiao indeed wanted to see how Ye Wanqing would resolve the matter of the cafeteria.

Two days later, Ye Wanqing took the opportunity during a break between classes to make a deeply profound self-criticism on the stage.

She stood there, graceful and with a pitiable charm.

Her attitude was sincere, and her tone earnest.

She spoke of her past accident during a vaulting horse exercise, mentioned her poor memory due to that concussion, and then presented a very detailed work plan.

If she became class president, what she would accomplish—clearly listed in points one, two, three, four, five.

One of the points was to collect class fees.

Studying art, especially oil painting, required more materials than typical university majors, hence the class fees were substantially higher.

Although some universities had tuition subsidized by the G Family, their arts institute did not.

Of course, the school would provide some free painting tools and pigments, but those were only for regular classes; practice time outside of class and the consumption of stationery and paints varied for each student, and these they had to handle on their own.
