Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 1407: Chapter 1409: The Classmate Who Committed Suicide

There are also slippers placed under her own bed.

After doing these, Chiang Xiao took a book out and sat on her bed, waiting for her roommates from her previous life to arrive.

This was a rather strange feeling.

Because she knew who was coming and what their personalities were like, she wasn’t really curious, but she was still very much looking forward to it.

This feeling, perhaps no one else could understand.

Although she had been waiting to meet Ye Wanqing for four years, she was no longer in a hurry now.

Soon, someone arrived.

”Is this room 301?”

Hearing this somewhat timid question, Chiang Xiao immediately looked up towards the door.

Standing at the door was a girl wearing dark blue cloth trousers, white plastic sandals, a floral top, with her hair in two braids, and a somewhat round face.

Her skin was a bit dark, and on one side of her face were uneven skin tones, with small white patches mixed into the slightly dark skin. It wasn’t very noticeable unless looked at closely, but for a girl, the face is the most cared for part, how could it not be noticed?

This girl, was the classmate who later committed suicide, Xie Landi.

Xie Landi came from the countryside, and her village was even poorer and more remote than Siyang Village. She was also the first person from her village to be admitted to a university.

Moreover, she was admitted to the Academy of Fine Arts.

Many people found it unbelievable and only later did they find out how she learned to paint, but her experience was always made into a joke by others.

”This is room 301.”

Chiang Xiao did not mock her for asking such a question.

The label for room 301 was posted just below, and although one could sort of figure out it was room 301 by looking at the neighboring room 302, it was normal to be uncertain.

Xie Landi breathed a sigh of relief, picked up her luggage from the ground and walked in.

She had quite a few belongings. After setting them down, she said to Chiang Xiao: ”Um, classmate, I still have more stuff downstairs, I’ll just leave these here first, and I’ll go down to bring up more, is that okay?”

These things originally did not need Chiang Xiao’s consent, but knowing that Xie Landi was unfamiliar with everything in the city and very nervous, Chiang Xiao smiled at her and said, ”Of course, shall I go down and help you bring them up?”

Xie Landi hurriedly waved her hand, ”No, no need, I’ll go bring them up in one more trip.”

Chiang Xiao did not insist.

She was naturally a warm person and felt that treating Xie Landi with a normal attitude was enough. Otherwise, an impulse of enthusiasm now might make her unable to maintain it later, which would only make the sensitive Xie Landi feel a gap.

However, she still reminded Xie Landi first, ”The beds are chosen on a first-come-first-serve basis, you can pick a spot first.”

”Ah? Oh, okay okay.” Xie Landi looked around and then chose the lower bunk opposite her.

She quickly went down and brought up more items, a lot of miscellaneous things.

”What is your name? I am Chiang Xiao.”

”I, I am Xie Landi.”

”Then from now on, we are roommates.”

”Yes, yes. Hello.” Xie Landi seemed very pleased by Chiang Xiao’s attitude, took out some bags from a plastic bucket, placed them on the table, and opened them one by one, saying to Chiang Xiao, ”These are all specialties from our countryside, very delicious. Do you want to try?”

The items were just placed in colored plastic bags, and it wasn’t known how long she had spent on the journey here with them. Two of the bags were already sticky and black, it was unclear what the items were.
