Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 1424: Chapter 1426: Capable of Yielding and Asserting

”About yesterday’s incident, I am sorry to everyone, and here, I want to formally apologize to everyone, especially to Chiang Xiao!”

Ye Wanqing said, her lips slightly parting as she gently bit her lower lip. Her hands were fidgeting with the hem of her clothes, her head lowered, expressing her sincerity, ”At first, I misunderstood Chiang Xiao, and later my attitude was unclear, leading other students to misunderstand Chiang Xiao as well. It was all my fault. I apologize to Chiang Xiao with the most sincere regrets. Back in high school during PE, I had an accident while vaulting and hit my head. Since that incident, my memory has not been very good. The doctor said it might be a sequelae from hitting my head.”

For a girl to apologize like this, in Qin Xiaojun and the others’ view, the attitude was indeed very sincere.

The few exchanged glances, and although no one spoke, their expressions noticeably softened.

Xie Landi was already somewhat reluctant, and upon hearing this, she asked with some concern, ”Was it a severe fall at that time? I was also quite scared of vaulting at first, but growing up in the countryside, I often ran through the fields, so my legs are quite nimble, and I learned how to do it.”

Countryside?

Running through the fields?

This confirmed what Ye Wanqing had suspected: Xie Landi indeed came from the countryside.

The reason she didn’t want to swap beds with Xie Landi yesterday was because she disliked having such a rustic person who also didn’t seem very clean living on the bunk above her.

Who knows if dirt would always be falling down?

But of course, she wouldn’t show this disdain.

On the contrary, since Xie Landi was the only one who picked up the conversation, allowing her a way out, she showed her a grateful smile.

”You’re really amazing. When I fell, it was quite serious and I was sent to the hospital. The doctor said it was a concussion. Since then, I’ve been psychologically scarred and didn’t dare to vault again.”

Lee Mei couldn’t help joining in at this point, ”So you really have sequelae?”

Ye Wanqing nodded, ”Yes, it’s my memory that has gotten very bad. I really remembered putting the money in the top pocket of my jacket yesterday, but then I remembered I had actually put the money under the insole of my shoe.”

Saying this, she showed an extremely embarrassed expression, ”This habit, I picked it up from my grandmother. I was too proud to let my classmates see, so I didn’t want to take off my shoes in front of Chiang Xiao. Here, I apologize to Chiang Xiao again.”

In the view of Qin Xiaojun and the others, she had been sufficiently sincere and acknowledged the truth.

Especially in admitting her habit of putting money under her shoe insole.

”Let’s put it behind us. We’re destined to share a dorm, so in the future, it’s best to discuss any issues privately first. Don’t just start making a fuss; after all, we’re a small community.”

Wang Lili spoke and looked towards Chiang Xiao, ”Chiang Xiao, what do you think?”

Chiang Xiao had to admire Ye Wanqing’s ability to bend and stretch.

Chiang Xiao didn’t speak up while Ye Wanqing was talking, but when Wang Lili spoke, Chiang Xiao gave her a smile.

”It doesn’t matter to me, but please ask Student Ye to be careful not to bump into me randomly.” After finishing, she meaningfully raised her eyebrow at Ye Wanqing.

The composure that Ye Wanqing had worked so hard to build was nearly shattered by this small expression.

At this moment, Chiang Xiao didn’t need to say much; she knew that she and Ye Wanqing didn’t need to do anything more, as fate would still push them together.
