Chapter 199: Chapter 139: The Martial Saint Among Men, an Outstanding Youth Representative, Douyin Followers Skyrocket!_3

Hearing such self-absorbed words, Liu Yi’s mouth twitched, but he didn’t continue to argue with Zhang Beixing on this matter.

He just pulled out a cigarette, his eyes asking Chen Rourou for permission.

Once he saw that Chen Rourou didn’t object, he opened the window, lit the cigarette, and looked at Zhang Beixing. ”You’ve seen the Chen Family’s library, what do you think?”

”Awesome!”

Zhang Beixing recalled what he had seen in the Chen Family’s library and spoke succinctly.

Hearing this, Liu Yi was startled, then said, ”I know that, but I’m asking about other things, like the insights you gained from it.”

”Still awesome!”

Zhang Beixing replied, as brief as before.

Whether it was the notes left behind by Bruce Lee or the martial arts insights of the Chen Family ancestors, all of it had given Zhang Beixing a lot of enlightenment. It brought his understanding of Vital Energy projection and the Northern Sect Eight Pieces of Brocade up a level, making him incomparable to before.

Seeing Zhang Beixing like this, Liu Yi then nodded.

He had been worried that Zhang Beixing, on his rare visit to the Chen Family’s library, might focus only on the tales of Grandmasters and Great Grandmasters, ignoring the martial arts insights left there. If that were the case, it would have been better not to enter at all!

”So, are you now aiming to train towards becoming a Grandmaster?” Liu Yi asked, feeling somewhat wistful.

Life is so unpredictable! Who could have imagined that the person who, three months ago, was seeking his guidance in practicing the Yue Family Fist, would now stand at the same level as him, and perhaps even be stronger? He’s the very definition of a living martial saint!

Upon reflection, Zhang Beixing said, ”More or less, but becoming a Great Grandmaster is still too early for me, so I’ll aim for Grandmaster first. Right now, I have something more important to settle.”

”Teacher Liu, do you know how to use weapons?”

Thinking about the suggestion in his task list for ”Piercing Gale, Sword Intent and Blade Qi,” Zhang Beixing felt that his current priority was to tackle this task. He might have grasped the concept of Vital Energy projection, but he still had no clue about how to train it specifically. But for weapon training, no clue was needed; he could simply ask Liu Yi!

After all, Liu Yi was from a martial arts family in Yanjing, and they even had a martial arts school at home.

A martial arts school surely couldn’t only teach Yue Family Fist. It would need some accompanying weapons training as well. He could learn directly from Liu Yi and get it done!

Hearing this, Liu Yi let out a slight exclamation, ”Weapons? Well, I do know some... Are you planning to train with them next?”

”Yes,” Zhang Beixing nodded. ”Mainly because I’ve been thinking, the fight yesterday wasn’t perfect; I even got slightly injured. If I knew how to wield a weapon, yesterday against those traffickers, I could have been using Tiger Leopard Thunder Sound like a DJ spinning records with one hand and giving them buzz cuts with the other. If I got into it, I might even have broken out into a social shuffle dance.”

Of course, the main reason was still the task suggestion he had for weapon training. Secondly, the netizens these days did have a point. His methods of attack were too one-dimensional. In combat, all he had to rely on were his fists. This time Zhang Beixing was lucky; he faced traffickers who knew nothing but to blindly charge and slash. Even with his superior combat instincts, he only won after sustaining light injuries. But what about next time? If he faced someone adept with weapons, even if Zhang Beixing had the Power to kill a man with a single punch, it would be useless if he got turned into a human pogo stick or riddled like a hornet’s nest before he could even get close! Learning a weapon skill was essential! Preferably one that would complement the Yue Family Fist.

Hearing Zhang Beixing’s words, Liu Yi was somewhat speechless.

Why did these words sound so familiar? He remembered that when he first brought up ”Tiger Leopard Thunder Sound” to Zhang Beixing a month after visiting the Chen Family, this brat had said something very similar. You really can’t forget about that DJing gig, can you?

Thinking this, Liu Yi took a drag from his cigarette. Then, after pondering Zhang Beixing’s request for a while, he said, ”I actually do know how to use weapons, but I’m not an expert!”

”If you want to learn... I can take you to see my brother. My brother has a high mastery of the Yue Family Spear; teaching you shouldn’t be a problem,” Liu Yi offered.

There were two ultimate skills in the Liu Family. One was the Yue Family Fist, and the other was the Yue Family Spear. Both he and his brother had, quite creditably, trained their respective skills to the highest standard across all of Great Xia. No one could match them. Of course, that was all before they met Zhang Beixing. After meeting Zhang Beixing... well, Liu Yi now felt that this kid, Zhang Beixing, was quickly catching up to him in the Yue Family Fist, perhaps even surpassing him. But it didn’t matter. As long as he introduced his brother, Liu Pan, to Zhang Beixing, Liu Pan’s top status with the Yue Family Spear would soon be in jeopardy too! We’re family, after all; we should all be in the same boat! If one of us is going to be second best, then we all should be. No one gets to hog the top spot! Besides, Zhang Beixing was his, Liu Yi’s, only Direct Disciple. He was family. Letting one of their own family replace their current positions was far better than waiting until they were old and couldn’t fight anymore, only to be replaced by some unknown junior from who-knows-where! Brother, I hope you understand my painstaking efforts!
