Extraordinary Realm from Persuasion System

Chapter 151: Chapter 128: What are you all trying to prove to me, Zhang Beixing?

A group of people were frantically running up the mountain.

Zhang Beixing’s prior visit made him familiar with the mountain path. Combined with his keen reflexes, insight, speed, and endurance, he easily shook off the human traffickers, despite his significant fatigue.

As for why he was running instead of turning back to fight?

What a joke. Is it really worth it for me?

He had pursued them in the first place only to provide their real-time location, to confirm the traffickers’ coordinates. This was so that when the police arrived, they could use his real-time position to quickly find and capture the traffickers.

Therefore, Zhang Beixing was very clear about what he needed to do at the moment. My goal is to delay! To delay until the police arrive.

Risking his life to confront them head-on was something he, as a concerned citizen, had no intention of...

Alright. Truth be told, I am somewhat tempted. I want to take this opportunity to test my own martial arts skills, imagining defeating a trafficker with each punch, just like the scenes I’ve envisioned while watching related short videos—just thinking about it is damn exhilarating. But I’m afraid that these traffickers might have guns, like homemade firearms.

In the end, Zhang Beixing suppressed this idea and decided to proceed cautiously. I should just keep them hanging and see what happens. After I understand their full details, it won’t be too late to make a move.

With that in mind, Zhang Beixing led the traffickers on a wild chase around the mountain.

During the chase, the curses from the traffickers grew weaker and weaker.

Until, at last, they realized something was wrong. How could it be that after running for so long, exhausted like dead dogs, they still can’t catch up with Zhang Beixing, who has been running all this time?

”Damn, this kid’s a bit strange! Let’s stop chasing him. Hurry back, pack up, and prepare to relocate!” the leader of the traffickers ordered. He was propped against a tree, gasping for air, realizing that if they continued chasing Zhang Beixing, they’d collapse from exhaustion long before the police could arrive.

The others, hearing this, expressed their agreement and turned back.

Seeing them do this, Zhang Beixing, who had been slowing down, stopped and started pursuing the traffickers again. Anyway, I absolutely can’t let them disappear from my sight.

”Fuck, can’t shake you off, can he!”

Seeing Zhang Beixing resume the chase, the traffickers’ leader started cursing loudly.

He got his group into the car. Glaring at Zhang Beixing, who stood watching them from not too far off, the leader grew angrier as he replayed the recent events in his mind. With a hardened heart, he barked, ”Damn it, he likes chasing, doesn’t he? Xiaowu, drive straight back to the den! You, tell the guys at the den that cops are on our tail. If this kid dares to show up, we’ll kill him on the spot! Once he’s dead, we’ll ditch this den and pull out.”

Clearly, they were prepared to make a big sacrifice, even ready to abandon the hideout they had operated for a long time.

”Yes, boss!” Xiaowu and another man replied, quickly setting to work.

Zhang Beixing was oblivious to this and merely continued following the group.

After another ten or so minutes, he saw their vehicle stopping in front of a wooden cabin.

Seeing this, Zhang Beixing instinctively felt that something was very wrong.

As if to confirm his suspicion:

CREAK.

The wooden door was pushed open, revealing a man about 1.7 meters tall, with tiger and dragon tattoos, squinty eyes, and wide-set eyes, brandishing a knife as he walked out from inside.

Xiaowu and the others had also parked the car and got out, carrying knives.

Just as I thought!

Seeing this, Zhang Beixing understood that he had arrived at the traffickers’ den.

He immediately tried to change direction and continue running, only to hear the traffickers’ leader roar, ”Kill him!”

Following that command, the man with Down Syndrome lunged at Zhang Beixing with his knife. Simultaneously, rustling sounds emanated from the nearby woods and from within the cabin.

”Fuck!”

In response, Zhang Beixing cursed, dodged the man’s slashing machete with a sidestep, and delivered a kick to the man’s face. Without looking back to check the man’s condition, he bolted.

Now, even more people were chasing Zhang Beixing.

Footsteps echoed incessantly through the mountain forest.

Even as Zhang Beixing strove to outmaneuver them, he somewhat struggled against these traffickers, who seemed right at home on the mountain.

After a period of evasion, circling the mountain, Zhang Beixing was eventually cornered and driven back by the group of traffickers to the front of the wooden cabin.

Hiding behind a massive boulder, Zhang Beixing panted heavily. He opened the System panel and immediately allocated points to boost his Power and Constitution attributes to 91.

He could feel the stamina he had drained in the chase being replenished with the System’s help.

Zhang Beixing peeked his head around the boulder cautiously, surveying his surroundings.

He noticed that apart from the man with Down Syndrome whom he had kicked in the face—now lying unconscious on the ground—there were, unexpectedly, more than ten other people standing there.

Having assessed the situation, Zhang Beixing pulled his head back behind the rock to consider his next move. More than ten people, all armed—this isn’t going to be easy. Though with my current strength, I should have a fighting chance, shouldn’t I? Lacking actual combat experience, I’m not sure of my own strength. Moreover, the key issue at hand is that I simply don’t understand these traffickers! Like drug traffickers, these human traffickers are ruthless evil-doers. And the ruthless often have one thing in common: they kill without batting an eye, and it’s very possible they have guns! Even the lowest quality homemade firearm would be more than I could handle.
