Chapter 186: Chapter 137: Superman Zhang Beixing? Unbelievable Evolution of Martial Skills!_2

What defines an ultimate skill? It’s a martial art so profound that it’s incredibly difficult to learn even with a dedicated teacher, let alone by mere observation. Even if one possessed heaven-defying talent, allowing them to learn simply by watching, they couldn’t possibly grasp it without seeing the complete form!

Elder Chen remembered very clearly. The only time he had ever performed the Northern Sect’s Eight Pieces of Brocade in front of Zhang Beixing was during the young man’s last visit, when he sparred with Liu Yi. Furthermore, the version he’d demonstrated then was incomplete—just a move and a half.

How could he possibly have reconstructed all my moves from that one and a half forms, and so accurately too? Even if Yue Fei himself were reincarnated, he couldn’t achieve such a feat!

”Nephew Zhang, making baseless claims is not a good habit!” Watching Zhang Beixing, Elder Chen reminded him.

Chen Fenghua, who was beside him, also chimed in, ”That’s right, Brother Chen. Claiming you learned it just by watching... that’s simply too far-fetched!

”Besides, what’s wrong with admitting Rourou taught you the Northern Sect’s Eight Pieces of Brocade? Rourou learned it herself, so our family rules are already broken. Given our relationship, would we really make things difficult for you?

”The most we’d do is have you marry into the family, change how you address us, and have you call me ’Uncle’ from now on. There’s no need to make up such a clumsy lie!” Chen Fenghua said, indicating his disbelief.

Seeing their reactions, Zhang Beixing felt quite helpless. He was telling the absolute truth, so why wouldn’t anyone believe him? Was his self-taught mastery of the Northern Sect’s Eight Pieces of Brocade really that astounding?

Looking at Chen Fenghua, Zhang Beixing proposed, ”Alright then, Brother Fenghua, since no amount of explaining will convince you, why don’t we settle this the martial artists’ way?”

Hearing his words, Chen Fenghua raised an eyebrow. ”The martial artists’ way? Prospective son-in-law, are you suggesting a spar?”

Zhang Beixing pretended not to hear the ’prospective son-in-law’ title.

”Yes, a spar, using the Northern Sect’s Eight Pieces of Brocade. This way, everyone will clearly see who is stronger and who is weaker!”

Since no one believed he was self-taught, he had no choice but to prove it. A sparring match was clearly the best way.

Hearing his words, Chen Fenghua let out a surprised ”Oh!”

If it were an open spar, ten of him combined wouldn’t be a match for Zhang Beixing. After all, Zhang Beixing had mastered the devastating Yue Family Boxing. Judging from the video of him fighting seventeen people, he had clearly achieved Great Accomplishment in it. He, Chen Fenghua, on the other hand, had dabbled in other martial arts but was a jack of all trades, master of none. He couldn’t compare to Zhang Beixing and wasn’t even close to the level below a Grandmaster. However, if it was purely a contest of the Northern Sect’s Eight Pieces of Brocade, Chen Fenghua felt he might actually have a chance!

Besides, while the Eight Pieces of Brocade was primarily a health Cultivation Technique, it also had some combat applications, making it suitable for sparring. So, he looked at Zhang Beixing and said, ”Prospective son-in-law, and this isn’t your future dad just boasting, but despite being busy with work every day, my attainment in the Northern Sect’s Eight Pieces of Brocade is second only to my father’s in the Chen Family! Are you sure you want to compete with me?”

”I am sure.” Zhang Beixing nodded, then assumed the opening stance of the Northern Sect’s Eight Pieces of Brocade. ”Brother Fenghua, please enlighten me!”

Seeing Zhang Beixing like this, Chen Fenghua’s spirits also rose.

Yesterday, after watching the video of Zhang Beixing beating the human traffickers, Chen Fenghua had been stunned by Zhang Beixing’s newly revealed, formidable martial power. He had even considered finding an opportunity to discuss martial arts training insights with him.

He hadn’t expected Zhang Beixing to present himself today, even proactively suggesting a spar with the Northern Sect’s Eight Pieces of Brocade! This was simply a godsend!

He glanced at Elder Chen, who was watching them with keen interest and showed no sign of intervening. Chen Fenghua rubbed his hands together. ”Alright, since my prospective son-in-law insists, it would be impolite of me to refuse. In that case, let’s have a simple spar right here. We’ll keep it to light contact, how about that?”

Out of caution, Chen Fenghua didn’t suggest moving the spar to the spacious and well-lit martial arts training hall. Instead, he opted for this rather small sitting room. And he specifically mentioned keeping it to light contact.

He had to mention it! Mainly because this Zhang Beixing fellow was terrifyingly fierce. The young man had chased down seventeen human traffickers by himself, killing fifteen on the spot and leaving two severely injured and unconscious. With such terrifying combat prowess, if Zhang Beixing didn’t hold back properly during their spar and accidentally killed him, Chen Fenghua would go down in Chen Family history as the first father-in-law to be killed by his son-in-law!

Perceiving Chen Fenghua’s concern, Zhang Beixing nodded. ”No problem, Brother Fenghua. Rest assured, I’ll be careful!”

Hearing this, Chen Fenghua finally nodded. He then stepped forward and performed a martial salute to Zhang Beixing. After the salute, Chen Fenghua retreated a few steps, regulating his breath and circulating his energy. Zhang Beixing did likewise.

Seeing the two ready to begin their spar, Chen Rourou quickly moved to the side, fearing she might get caught in the crossfire.

As for Liu Yi, he recalled learning from Zhang Beixing just last night that he had grasped Hidden Force. Remembering the Tiger Leopard Thunder Sound video he had also seen, Liu Yi couldn’t help but look at Chen Fenghua with a flicker of pity in his eyes.
