Extraordinary Realm from Persuasion System

Chapter 87: Chapter 83: Success in the Living World, Failure in the Netherworld

It’s starting, it’s starting.

Zhang Beixing is beginning to show his true colors!

Seeing that sentence he posted in the comment section, those melon-eating netizens were instantly energized.

”Holy shit, he’s saying we’re full of crap!”

”He’s so arrogant? Can’t stand it anymore!”

So they all chimed in, starting to @mention that person.

It only took a few minutes.

That original comment count of 600+ was astonishingly pumped up to 700+ by these netizens who loved to watch the world burn—and the number was still climbing.

The person who initially suggested ideas to Zhang Beixing was also blasted out.

After fully understanding the situation and realizing Zhang Beixing not only took his advice but actually went ahead and did the nonsense he blurted out, he was utterly dumbfounded!

”Bro, I was just playing around, joking, how could you take it seriously?” he asked, puzzled and astonished.

It was just like the day you whimsically sent some gibberish code into the cosmos, only to actually receive a signal back from extraterrestrial life. While Zhang Beixing’s act wasn’t as preposterous as that, the sentiment was pretty much the same.

Seeing his reply, Zhang Beixing raised an eyebrow and let out an ’Oh-ho.’

Nice try, buddy, what’s this supposed to mean? All done playing and ready to pull up your pants and disassociate? What kind of person do you take Zhang for?

With this in mind, Zhang Beixing didn’t coddle him and responded directly, ”Friend, your words are rather demanding. Suggestions that are too difficult, I cannot complete. But this kind of ’if you can do it, anyone can’ stuff—can’t I manage that? Why all the fuss? Friend, you can’t possibly be surprised by such a trivial challenge that anyone could undertake, right?”

”I’ll be damned!”

Seeing this message, in some corner of Great Xia, a young man couldn’t help but utter a colorful phrase, sensing the tremendous malice from Zhang Beixing.

And it wasn’t just him. Others who saw this comment felt the same way.

This rascal Zhang Beixing is indirectly saying their suggestions are outrageous!

Indeed, on reflection, none of the opinions they offered this time seemed achievable by mere mortals. If walking a tightrope for martial arts training was still within the realm of ordinary people, then the Oizaki’s Eight Challenges they proposed today, doing sit-ups on a cliff edge, Lightness Technique hovering over water... All of these, without exception, transcended human capability and verged on challenging human limits, even breaking physical laws! Succeed in this world, fail in the netherworld, a ’try it and die’ kind of deal. Even the simplest of these, running with weights on a tightrope while boxing, was far beyond what an ordinary person could do.

But...

”We’re just melon-eating netizens, we love to see a bloodbath! Blogger, can you really do it or not? If not, just say so honestly!”

”Still the old saying: If this were real life and I saw someone as badass as you, I’d slide right over and beg to be your disciple. But this is Douyin, so my take is, sorry, but I could totally do it myself!”

”No way, no way! There can’t be someone who can’t even complete the simple Oizaki’s Eight Challenges, right? If you can’t do that, surely climbing the Five Great Mountains within five days isn’t a problem? If you can’t even manage that, I suggest you go dine with dogs!”

No Love for Cilantro: ”Wow, you guys are all talk and no action!”

Sophia Zhou (Working Out Hard): ”Beixing, stay calm, don’t fall for their provocations! You’re already doing great, don’t let them stir you up and act rashly!”

South River Splitting Fist: ”Well said. Although I have no idea how you, young friend, have developed such a solid foundation at such a young age, please remember this: haste makes waste. Eat bite by bite, train in martial arts bit by bit. Don’t rush into mistakes for the sake of speed, losing much for little gain. I hope you will consider this carefully!”

The comment section was abuzz with discussion.

Those netizens, though as stubborn-mouthed as ever, showed through their now less outrageous suggestions that they weren’t as obstinate as they made themselves out to be. They were kind of cute, in a limited way.

Browsing through the comments, Zhang Beixing also came across a few familiar IDs.

’No Love for Cilantro’ went without saying—it was Chen Rourou.

And ’South River Splitting Fist’ belonged to the master of Chop Hanging Fist whom Zhang Beixing had commented on a month ago.

As for the last one, ’Sophia Zhou (Working Out Hard)’... Zhang Beixing thought about it and realized he had no recollection of her at all. But oddly enough, she could call out his name, which was strange.

Out of curiosity, Zhang Beixing clicked on her profile. After looking through the videos she had posted, it dawned on him that ’Sophia Zhou (Working Out Hard)’ was actually Sophia Zhou’s Douyin account.

Then he followed her back and continued browsing through the comments on his phone.

「Meanwhile, in the faculty housing of Shi University.」

Liu Yi, who had just finished his shower, was now sitting on the sofa with a beer in one hand and his mobile phone in the other, deep in thought.

After Zhang Beixing dropped him off at the gates of Shi University, Liu Yi, feeling downtrodden, had gone home to shower, play on his phone, eat some snacks, and soothe his bruised ego.

Now, the shower was over. He had checked his phone, and the snacks had been eaten. But why couldn’t he just cheer up?

”Is this frickin’ Zhang Beixing?”

”I shouldn’t have asked for this kid’s Douyin handle!”

Watching the video of the young man on the tightrope, throwing Yue Family punches as steady as Mount Tai, Liu Yi rubbed his eyes. After triple-checking, he let out an exclamation.

He had learned the day before yesterday that Zhang Beixing had posted a martial arts training video online. As his teacher, Liu Yi felt he should... no, he *needed* to critique it. However, he had been quite busy and hadn’t gotten around to watching it. It wasn’t until today, after Zhang Beixing had thoroughly demoralized him, that Liu Yi remembered the video. He decided to watch it, hoping to lift his spirits.

Well... his mood certainly changed. Unfortunately, it wasn’t for the better; in fact, it made him feel even worse!

Because he found out that Zhang Beixing’s video wasn’t embarrassing at all! It was pure showing off!

Performing continuous punches on a tightrope. This...

”How does this kid always come up with such eye-popping stunts?”

Looking at the video, at the young man throwing punches on the swaying tightrope, Liu Yi muttered to himself. He couldn’t help but recall what Zhang Beixing had said to him at the Chen family home that afternoon: ”Me, Zhang Beixing, I only started practicing my lower stance half a month ago, and now I move like a dragon!”

So you’re telling me you spent just half a month, and you’ve already mastered tightrope walking and throwing punches on it? Do you wish to ascend with the winds and soar straight up to ninety thousand miles?

He took a sharp, shaky breath. ”Calm down, calm down. It’s just a solid lower stance. For Zhang Beixing, isn’t that normal?”

The kid did train bitterly for an entire half month—half a month! It’s normal for his stance to be solid!

Liu Yi took deep breaths, desperately comforting himself. Yet, for some reason, the more he comforted himself, the heavier his breathing grew, until, in the end, he was virtually grinding his teeth!

Mainly because this incident was just too hard to accept! Imagine you’ve toiled hard for a decade, maybe even decades, for a goal. And finally, when you’re about to achieve it, you watch someone else come along and reach that goal in just half a month. And they even say that this half a month was quite tiring. Such a disparity—who could accept that?

The fact that Liu Yi hadn’t had his warrior’s spirit utterly shattered by Zhang Beixing was already quite something. If it had been someone with a hotter temper, they’d probably be spitting blood by now and wouldn’t last long before succumbing to their frustrations!

Liu Yi took quite a while to collect himself. Only then did he recover from the shock brought on by Zhang Beixing. He slowly exhaled a turbid breath.

He stopped eating his snacks, lit a cigarette straight away, and continued watching the video on his phone.

After all, he was already numb to the blows dealt by Zhang Beixing. Since that was the case, he wanted to see what other surprises, or rather... shocks, this little brat could give him next!

Holding onto that thought, Liu Yi kept watching. And because he was watching so closely, he indeed noticed something else besides Zhang Beixing’s lower stance.

Specifically, there was something unusual about Zhang Beixing’s fist technique! It wasn’t that he was practicing incorrectly; rather, his Yue Family punches had, unbeknownst to him, already shown considerable proficiency!

One had to remember, when he watched the surveillance footage of Zhang Beixing fighting five opponents in the classroom some time ago, Zhang Beixing’s Yue Family punches were still at a beginner’s level. But now, watching Zhang Beixing step forward and effortlessly execute the Black Tiger Heart Extraction punch with such vigor—those standard movements, that fierce momentum—it was a different story.

”Ordinary people couldn’t achieve that without practicing for two to three years!”

Did this kid happen to achieve a breakthrough in the Yue Family punches while training his lower stance?

Impossible! Liu Yi shook his head. I must be going mad from the shock of Zhang Beixing’s terrifying talent! No matter how gifted someone is, to bring their lower stance to such a frightening level in just half a month is already incredible. If he also managed a breakthrough in the Yue Family punches... This...

What if? For some reason, this question suddenly popped into Liu Yi’s mind.

Stunned by this thought, Liu Yi paused. He said nothing more, merely lowering his head to watch the video. His viewing posture, however, changed from a comfortable recline to an upright sitting position.

Liu Yi was now entirely focused. His eyes, like those of an eagle, were fixed on Zhang Beixing in the video, capturing every single one of his movements on the tightrope.
