Extraordinary Realm from Persuasion System

Chapter 55: Chapter 55: What kind of genius is this?

He managed to execute the Yue Family Combination Punches on a shaky, worn table. Although it was very difficult, Zhang Beixing had undeniably achieved a passing level of stability.

However, he had only just passed. He still had much room for refinement and improvement in his stability.

Only when he could stand on the table and smoothly execute the Yue Family Combination Punches as if on solid ground would he be considered to have truly mastered it.

So for now, he couldn’t stop training his lower body on that worn table to enhance his stability.

You see, in ancient times, martial artists trained for a lifetime with such methods, whether punching on tables or training with a Wooden Dummy.

He patted the dust off his clothes.

Zhang Beixing took out his phone and saw it was already 6:10 in the evening.

He then pushed the door and walked out.

He saw Lin Siqi, who had been waiting at the door for a long time.

Next to her stood a tall, voluptuous young girl. It was Chen Rourou.

Before Zhang Beixing had come out, she had been holding her head high, proudly talking to Lin Siqi about something. But upon seeing Zhang Beixing emerge, she involuntarily shivered. The pride she exuded instantly vanished without a trace.

Chen Rourou lowered her head and timidly stood aside, not daring to move much, cautiously watching Zhang Beixing without uttering a word.

Seeing her like this, Lin Siqi was already used to it and didn’t say much, just looked at Zhang Beixing and asked, ”Lao Zhang, have you finished training? How was it today?”

Zhang Beixing glanced at Chen Rourou, then turned to Lin Siqi, and said, ”It’s alright. After these few days of training, I can stand on the table and execute the Yue Family Combination Punches smoothly. But I feel there’s still room for improvement, so I need to train more.”

”Really? That fast? If I remember correctly, from the start of your training until now, it’s only been five days, right?” Lin Siqi raised her eyebrows, quite amazed.

Even though she didn’t train much herself, she knew the difficulty involved. It was already quite an accomplishment for ordinary people just to stand on a wobbly table without falling off, let alone practicing martial arts with large movements on it.

Hiding behind Lin Siqi and listening to Zhang Beixing’s words, Chen Rourou’s expression turned to one of amazement. ”Monster, he’s simply a monster!” she muttered softly.

To an outsider like Lin Siqi, what Zhang Beixing did was impressive, but that was about it. Because they didn’t understand, they only had a vague concept of what it entailed.

But in the eyes of an expert—someone familiar with traditional martial arts—Zhang Beixing’s feat was far more significant!

Firstly, practicing punches on a wobbly table, in a sense, was already a form of stance training. Stance training is one of the most crucial aspects of traditional martial arts. It addresses a key question relevant in many situations: whether striking, kicking, or throwing; being hit or thrown; defending against strikes and throws; or grappling and controlling in a clinch. That question is: are you stable? Can you advance and retreat smoothly, and defend and counterattack effortlessly? Stance training is designed to address this issue.

Mastering a stance typically requires diligent practice for at least two or three months. But now, Zhang Beixing had done it in just five days.

For someone who had never practiced stance training before to master it in just five days was astounding! This feat wouldn’t just astound Chen Rourou; even Teacher Liu would be deeply shocked upon learning of it.

Perhaps only Zhang Beixing himself was unaware of the significance of his achievement...

Is this some peerless genius? Who does he think he is, Zhang Wuji, mastering everything at the first try? With his speed in martial arts training, if he had lived in ancient times, he would surely have earned the title of a divine warrior! Chen Rourou complained inwardly.

At this moment, a wave of hopelessness washed over her. She had initially thought of emulating King Goujian, enduring hardships to eventually astonish everyone and wash away her past humiliations.

But looking at it now... forget it! With Zhang Beixing’s rate of improvement, even if I had forty-eight hours in a day and spent every minute training and getting stronger, I might still not catch up to him! We’re all human, with two arms and two legs, so why is the gap between us so huge?

Zhang Beixing turned his head towards Chen Rourou, his eyebrows slightly furrowed. He asked, ”What are you saying? Muttering under your breath like that, you’re not saying anything good, are you?”

This girl was getting more and more presumptuous. She was quite docile a few days ago, but now, as she interacted with him more, she even dared to hide behind Lin Siqi and whisper in his presence. If she dared to whisper now, later she might dare to point at his nose and curse him.

Zhang Beixing quietly rolled up his sleeves, revealing his powerful forearms.

Chen Rourou was startled. Seeing Zhang Beixing’s action, she cowered even more. She hurriedly said, ”I didn’t, I’m not, I’ve been wronged! I just came to deliver some milk tea; I wasn’t muttering anything!”

Chen Rourou explained, lifting the milk tea in her hand to prove her innocence.

To this, Zhang Beixing’s frown deepened. He looked at Lin Siqi, then said to Chen Rourou, ”So, you’re saying it’s my fault? That I’ve misunderstood you?”

Isn’t that obvious! Chen Rourou screamed inwardly.

But her fear of Zhang Beixing kept her from voicing those words; instead, she mumbled something hesitantly.

Seeing her like this, Zhang Beixing snorted coldly. He then stepped forward, took the milk tea from her hand, said, ”Don’t let it happen again,” and waved his hand, signaling Chen Rourou to leave.

Chen Rourou turned and ran without looking back.

After she left, Lin Siqi, who had been watching the drama unfold between them, stepped forward and asked Zhang Beixing, ”Lao Zhang, why do you always have to scare her like that? I think she’s quite nice to you, bringing you milk tea every day.”

A few days ago, when Zhang Beixing started doing lower-body exercises on the table, Lin Siqi noticed that Chen Rourou would come and visit Zhang Beixing twice a day with milk tea: once in the morning and once in the evening.

At first, Lin Siqi thought they were dating. She even started to bless them in her heart.

But as time went by, Lin Siqi suddenly realized that things might not be as she thought. It was that every time Chen Rourou came to deliver the milk tea to Zhang Beixing, she would flee from the place as if she were escaping.

If it was just once or twice, it could be understood as shyness. But this happening so many times seemed a bit off!

Three days ago, unable to contain her curiosity, Lin Siqi approached and listened as Chen Rourou ran to deliver the milk tea to Zhang Beixing.

What she heard was shocking! Lin Siqi realized she had completely misunderstood their relationship. Chen Rourou and Zhang Beixing were not lovers at all. They were a classic bully and victim!

The milk tea was protection money—to keep Zhang Beixing from laying a hand on her.

Wow. Lin Siqi really didn’t expect that even in college, Zhang Beixing could still pull off such a thing.

Not having gotten rid of you when we had the chance has really left a scourge on society! Watching Zhang Beixing drinking the tea, Lin Siqi thought so in her heart.

Zhang Beixing, oblivious to all this, just inserted a straw and took a sip. He then boldly declared, ”Because I feel like it!”

”Damn!” Lin Siqi did not know what to say to that response. After all, Zhang Beixing’s bad character wasn’t built in a day or two.

Then, Lin Siqi asked, ”Speaking of which, Lao Zhang, are you going to the artificial lake for martial arts training now?”

”Yeah, why?” Zhang Beixing replied.

”What’s this new idea? A new stunt?”

”It’s also a form of stance training, but more challenging. You wouldn’t understand.”

”Alright then. Just a reminder to be careful; don’t fall in!”

”Heh, don’t worry about that. I can swim. And even if I couldn’t, I have a life jacket. No big deal!”
