197: Chapter 197 Fate’s Destiny +10[Do you wish to use a ”+10 Guaranteed Enhancement Scroll” to enhance the ”Task Assistant” skill?]

[The ”Task Assistant” skill has been successfully enhanced to Level 10.]

＜Task Assistant (+10)＞

Type: Active / Level: Unknown / Usable counts: 4 times

*Provides completion condition hints for specified tasks.

*Usable counts +1

*Usable counts +1

*Usable counts +1

*Maximizes the range of hints.

The effect of Task Assistant +10 was just as Fu Hao had expected, yet it remained abstract.

”System, I’ll trust you this once!”

He called out the name of the AI system of the ”otherworld,” activated the Task Assistant skill, and triggered the auxiliary guidance for the ”Patans Rest” task.

[Do you wish to consume 1 use count to activate the ”Patans Rest” Task Assistant system?]

[Generating ”Patans Rest” task guidance... Please wait...]

”Whew...”

Seeing the skill enter a buffering state, Fu Hao actually breathed a sigh of relief—the need for massive calculations meant the guidance would include his own attribute variables, and as long as it didn’t fail outright, there was a glimmer of hope for completing the task.

However, the longer the buffering time, the more anxious he became: ”If I have to wait for the guidance to appear, and by then I’m already dead and the world is destroyed, what’s the point?”

Players can undergo Resurrection 24 hours after death, but no one wants to continue playing in a world where all NPCs are wiped out and civilization is destroyed. Especially when he thought about how his hard work over the past two months might go to waste, he felt even more strongly that he had to prevent the destruction of the human realm.

”Will Patan arrive faster, or will the guidance load faster...”

Just as he was on the verge of losing focus, the long-awaited notification finally popped up:

[”Patans Rest” task guidance has been generated. Please complete the task according to the guidance.]

”It’s finally here!”

Fu Hao could hardly hide his excitement, but after seeing the content of the guidance, he couldn’t help but frown—the content was completely unexpected.

[Use a ”+10 Guaranteed Enhancement Scroll” to enhance the Fates Luck skill to +10.]

”...Huh?”

Fates Luck was the first skill he obtained after his account reset, and it remained one of his strongest skills to this day. Although the importance of this skill had greatly diminished after summoning the incomplete Mimic, it was still his signature skill.

The nearly infinite cash won from account lucky draws was certainly important, but the help provided by Fates Luck was actually more critical.

Ever since he gained the Skill Enhancement ability in the Inner World, he had always wanted to enhance Fates Luck to +10. However, since the skill level was unknown, it could only be enhanced using a +10 Guaranteed Enhancement Scroll. Including the one obtained through the Copy Authority, he only had two scrolls in total, so he really couldn’t bear to use them recklessly.

After all, the effect of a +10 skill is different from equipment; it depends entirely on luck, and if the effect turned out to be useless after enhancement, the loss would be huge.

Now it seems his hesitation back then was correct—if he had used the scroll on other unknown skills, he wouldn’t have been able to enhance the Task Assistant at all, let alone receive the current guidance.

Fates Luck was ultimately just a medium; the key lay in how it was used after enhancement. Without the guidance of Task Assistant +10, he might have really wasted his good luck on trivial matters.

”Although I would have enhanced it to +10 sooner or later, I didn’t expect it to be now...”

As he was reflecting on the guidance, a life-threatening notification suddenly popped up:

[The ”Patans Rest” task has a time limit. Please complete all guidance steps within the time limit. If not completed within the time limit, the task will be judged as a failure, and the consumed Task Assistant counts will not be restored.]

[Time remaining: 6 minutes 31 seconds...]

”Only 6 minutes left?”

This task concerned the fate of the world, and it only gave him this little time? Fu Hao was startled and hurriedly took out the last +10 Guaranteed Enhancement Scroll from his backpack to enhance Fates Luck according to the guidance.

[Do you wish to use a ”+10 Guaranteed Enhancement Scroll” to enhance the Fates Luck skill?]

[The Fates Luck skill has been successfully enhanced to Level 10.]

＜Fates Luck (+10)＞

Type: Active / Cooldown: 7 days

*Fixes a specified one-time probability to 100%.

*Cooldown reset probability +5%

*Cooldown reset probability +5%

*Cooldown reset probability +5%

*Obtain ”Blessing of the Goddess of Luck”: Fixes all one-time probabilities to 100% without limits for 10 minutes. (After activating this effect, the cooldown becomes 4 times longer and cannot be shortened or reset; if using the basic effect, the cooldown remains 7 days.)

”Blessing of the Goddess of Luck...”

Although the skill level was still unknown, the name ”Blessing of the Goddess” was enough to prove that the effect had reached the Creation level.

Just the 10 minutes of unlimited Fates Luck was absurd—although he had achieved nearly infinite good luck through the incomplete Mimic, it was limited to equipment enhancement; now, it could cover all other areas as well.

Speaking of invincibility skills alone, he had several in his skill bar that triggered with low probability and had no cooldown. As long as he activated ”Blessing of the Goddess of Luck,” he would be absolutely invincible for at least 10 minutes. Although the cooldown for this effect was as long as 28 days and could not be reset, the cost-performance ratio was still off the charts.

”I’ve hit the jackpot...”

Fu Hao stared at the +10 effect and muttered to himself, just as the Task Assistant guidance updated:

[”Patans Rest” task guidance updated.]

[Use the ”Authority of Transfer” skill to go to the marked location on the map.]

”Authority of Transfer?”

He had thought the next step would be to use the +10 Fates Luck, so he was stunned when he saw the guidance, but time was pressing, so he immediately followed it. After opening the map, the marked location made his pupils shrink—it was a place he had never recorded but was incomparably familiar with: the Gold Dragon Tomb within the natural storm, or more accurately, Atia’s tomb.

He instantly understood why the guidance specified ”Authority of Transfer” instead of a teleportation gem: this skill could go anywhere in the Primordial Domain, the downside being the consumption of massive amounts of magic power.

Fortunately, after collecting 101 Demon King Authorities, he had obtained a 100x bonus, and his current magic crystal reserves were enough to support the trip to the Gold Dragon Tomb.

Although using a teleportation gem to move a distance first and then using ”Authority of Transfer” would save more magic power, in the face of the world’s fate, this bit of consumption was not worth mentioning.

Fu Hao no longer hesitated; he injected all his magic crystals into ”Authority of Transfer” and teleported toward Atia’s tomb.
