Unlimited Top-ups, the Most Lavish Pay-to-win Live Streams Ever

165: Chapter 165 Hidden Item Collection Contestotherworld》 is a game with extremely high freedom, but high freedom isn’t necessarily all good—too many choices can leave many players struggling with which path to take, which is also the reason for the polarized reviews of open-world RPGs.

Some players would rather follow a paved track and play easily, like watching a movie or reading a novel, than feel anxious about what to do.

Although otherworld》 hasn’t completely solved this problem, it has barely managed to mask its shortcomings with its overwhelming image quality and gameplay. However, the combination of the MMORPG’s multiplayer nature and ultra-high freedom has spawned a new problem: hidden items are often obtained by people who are not suitable for them.

Just like the saying ”A sword for a hero, but in the wrong hands, it is no different from rusty iron,” the situation of hidden items ending up with the wrong owners is common in otherworld》.

Situations like Fu Hao taking the entire Mimic dungeon and remodeling it into a +10 reinforcement factory, allowing the hidden items to exert their maximum value, are extremely rare.

Hidden items mostly exist in the form of titles, exclusive items, and quests, and they cannot be transferred to suitable people; players can only pray that they will encounter matching items.

”Have the clues here disappeared too...” Leonhardt let out an uncharacteristically weary sigh.

Like Fu Hao, he is racking his brain to find ways to fight monsters and protect otherworld》—his method is to find and learn lost ancient weapon arts.

After completing the Weapon Master second job advancement, Leonhardt used his job skills, the hidden items he collected, and the artifacts inherited from Loki to restore the ancient weapon arts with all his might.

These techniques were born in the ancient era before the Loto Tribe were worshipped as gods, so it is impossible for complete skill books to remain. However, as a Weapon Master holding various hidden items, as long as he can collect enough clues, he is confident that he can restore the techniques earlier than other players, with a success rate of at least 50%.

But before he could even start the restoration, he encountered an unsolvable problem: he relied on Loki’s artifacts to locate the clues, only to find that they had already been taken by other players.

If it had been taken by an NPC, there might have been a way, but since it was clearly acquired by a player, even as smart as Leonhardt was, he couldn’t find a breakthrough.

”Don’t be too discouraged, there must be a way!” Seeing Leonhardt rarely show such disappointment, Yongyuan felt even more heartache and hurriedly comforted him.

Leonhardt usually doesn’t travel with other players except for mandatory trial dungeons, but this time was an exception—Yongyuan had once ascended to the throne of the Elf King and could help a lot; furthermore, with otherworld》 on the verge of destruction, he had no mood to be picky, so he accepted the request to travel together.

Facts proved that this choice was right—not because of Yongyuan’s ability, but because of her connections.

”Wait a minute! There is a whisper... Hmm, it’s Fu Hao. He says... we can return to the world at the time of launch? And he wants to take me and you with him?”

Yongyuan told Leonhardt the invitation to go to a ’test server’ that replicates the launch state.

For Leonhardt, there was no reason to refuse this proposal—all hidden items were intact at launch, so the clues for the ancient weapon arts must be there too. Although the condition was ”prioritize monster subjugation over personal growth,” this was exactly what he wanted.

”I’m in.” Leonhardt agreed immediately and even added Fu Hao as a friend, which was unprecedented.

”Um, can you add me as a friend?”

”Sure, I sent you a request.”

Thanks to Fu Hao, Yongyuan also got her wish. Looking at the name ”Leonhardt” in her friend list, she was so excited that her soul felt like it was floating.

In addition, she also accepted a task: after going to the other side, cooperate with Fu Hao to find the World Tree there. At first, she was a bit disappointed about ”having to separate from Leonhardt,” but after adding him as a friend, she willingly accepted the task.

”Leonhardt and Yongyuan are set...” After settling the two of them, Fu Hao started to think about the remaining spots. Counting himself and Chaos, there were three spots left.

”It can only be Rachel, right?”

Guild Master Jari insisted on ”giving the spots to those who need them more” and would not go himself. In the Wind Guild, besides him, only two members had outstanding game intuition, which meant at least one spot had to be left for someone outside the guild.

As Guild Master Jari said, Rachel was the most suitable candidate—although they had only met once, her credibility was on par with Leonhardt, and the game level she displayed during streams was also close to the top ten, definitely qualified.

”Ms. Rachel, I am Fu Hao. Is it convenient to chat for a while now?”

”I didn’t expect you to whisper me personally... Then can I whisper you occasionally in the future?”

The problem lay in Rachel’s attitude. Ever since Fu Hao single-handedly crushed the demon army, Rachel had not hidden her enthusiasm for him.

”Watch your mouth.” Although Chaos was wearing a bear doll hood and his expression couldn’t be seen, the sourness in his tone was about to overflow. Fu Hao quickly restrained himself, fearing that he might show a hint of a smile.

”Okay! Of course! If we are going to the other side, are we acting together?” Rachel replied instantly, her tone full of excitement.

”Mostly separate, and we will cooperate when we encounter places that require teaming up, like trial dungeons.”

”Then you must call me when that happens!”

”...Okay, I got it. See you when we depart.”

This conversation, which was more mentally exhausting than fighting a high-difficulty BOSS, finally ended. Fu Hao immediately entered the next step: planning which hidden items to get in the other world.

Although there are many guides for hidden items in the community, he was not satisfied with that—some information is fine to be public, but hiding the effects or acquisition methods of more items is more beneficial to the owner, and few people will specifically publish guides for items that have already been taken. Therefore, he intended to collect information that was not in the community.

”Let’s hold a hidden item collection contest. I didn’t expect I would host such an activity.”

Fu Hao planned to use his, Leonhardt’s, and Rachel’s super high popularity to hold a short-term collection contest.

With the righteous cause of ”saving humanity,” the participation would definitely not be low. Even if most of the information was useless, as long as he could get one or two key items, the probability of fighting monsters and restoring peace would be a little higher.

But he underestimated the players’ enthusiasm. The uniqueness of going to the launch world made almost all players pay attention to this collection contest, and the influx of hidden item information far exceeded expectations—the quantity was ten times the total public amount in the community over the past two years, and the effects were not inferior to the known items.

”Fortunately, I held the collection contest, otherwise I would have suffered a huge loss...” The seven people, including Fu Hao, stayed up for several nights before departure, prioritizing the hidden items they wanted to obtain based on the collected information.

They all wanted to postpone the departure to sort out the plan better and strive for maximum efficiency in the limited time, but the range of monster erosion in the human world was still expanding, and there was simply no time to delay.

The day of departure soon arrived.

”Then I will start creating it.” Fu Hao started the long-shelved ”other side” creation program.

As the portal appeared, all seven swallowed their saliva and looked at the scene behind the door—that was the capital of the Boer Kingdom, which was most popular with newbies when the server opened.

Nowadays, this place has been eroded by monsters beyond recognition, but behind the portal, it was the entire intact capital. The seven people present did not necessarily all start in the Boer Kingdom, but as the most famous newbie area, it still made them feel deeply emotional.

The combined viewership of Fu Hao and Rachel’s live broadcast rooms exceeded 10 million, and everyone felt that they ”looked like heroes about to save the world.”

”Alright, let’s go!”

Fu Hao, still at level 1, took the lead into the portal. He insisted on not leveling up, and the reason was simple—for the only title he hadn’t obtained, the first clear title from the ”Novice Trial” dungeon.

It was this dungeon that brought him to where he is today.
