179: Chapter 179 Retracing the Demon RealmFu Hao had assumed that after using Enhanced Item Synthesis on the sword of sealing, he would obtain a new sword containing the souls of the two Emperor Endels, but reality deviated completely from his expectations.

The two swords of sealing had completely dissipated during the Enhanced Item Synthesis, leaving behind only a +10 Guaranteed Enhancement Scroll. So, where did the two souls originally sealed within the swords go?

Although these two souls came from different timelines, they were essentially the same existence. The Enhanced Item Synthesis skill was originally only meant to work on items, but due to the unique nature of the sword of sealing, the souls had also been swept up in the synthesis.

However, the result this time was completely different from the +10 Guaranteed Enhancement Scroll:

[ ”Soul of Emperor Luo Ender” fusion successful. ]

[ ”Soul of Emperor Luo Ender” generated. ]

[ ”Soul of Emperor Luo Ender” has been bound to ”Soul Stone (+10)”. ]

”It’s still a soul after soul fusion?”

Fu Hao looked at the notification, frowned slightly, and opened the details of the Emperor’s soul that had been transferred from the sword of sealing into the Soul Stone:

Rank: Super Rank+

Description: The last emperor of the Ender Empire, which perished three thousand years ago, harboring a long-cherished desire to restore the nation. Originally a Mythical Rank existence, due to the overlapping of homologous soul fluctuations, it has been promoted to an existence beyond Super Rank.

”Super Rank?”

And not just an ordinary Super Rank, but a Super Rank with a ”+” — a rank between Super Rank and Creation Rank.

”The previous enhancement level has been reset, though.”

Although the enhancement level wasn’t inherited, Fu Hao’s eyes remained bright. A Super Rank+ existence should at least be more useful than Xiao Jin, right?

”Your Majesty? Your Majesty, are you there?”

He took the Soul Stone out of his backpack and tapped it gently, wanting to confirm the Emperor’s status.

The increase in rank was a fact, but what specific changes occurred still needed to be verified. Previously, he could directly learn the Emperor’s magic through the Teaching of the Strong skill, or have the Emperor demonstrate magic, then copy it using the +10 magic storage accessory.

Unfortunately, limited by insufficient mana, the Emperor could not demonstrate large-scale magic like Meteor or Blizzard, and Fu Hao had hoped that reinforcing the soul to +10 would solve this problem. Now that the soul had been upgraded to Super Rank+, perhaps it could cast high-spec magic without needing enhancement.

”Your Majesty?”

But no matter how he called out, the Emperor Endel inside the Soul Stone gave no response. The Soul Summoning skill originally bound to the sword of sealing had also disappeared, and Fu Hao didn’t even have a way to force a summon. He wasn’t even sure if the Emperor was unwilling to respond or if an accident had occurred during the fusion.

”Surely he won’t be asleep forever, right?”

After nearly ten minutes of calling out with no result, Fu Hao had to give up. The desire for Blizzard and Meteor magic still burned in his heart, but every minute and every second in the Inner World was precious; he couldn’t keep wasting time here.

”Maybe it will be fine once it’s enhanced to +10.”

He thought optimistically, then turned to check the +10 Guaranteed Enhancement Scroll he had set aside earlier due to his focus on the soul fusion:

Rank: Unknown

Usage Condition: Enhancement Master class

Effect: The enhancement level of the designated target is guaranteed to increase to level 10.

The effect was as simple as he expected; what was unexpected was that the description didn’t say ”items only.”

”Could it be used to enhance skills or other things?”

Usually, only equipment could be enhanced, but Fu Hao’s enhancement targets had long since broken through convention—accessories, Summoned Beast, skills, stats, talents, souls... everything could be enhanced.

Judging by the usage condition specifying ”Enhancement Master class,” his guess was likely correct. Moreover, this was an item obtained by spending 4 charges of Fates Luck; he couldn’t just use it to enhance some equipment to +10 that a clone could easily handle, right?

”Where should I use it...”

Being able to enhance anything to +10 actually made his decision paralysis worse. He could directly push the Super Rank+ Emperor Endel soul to +10, or he could upgrade an Unknown or Creation Rank skill that couldn’t be enhanced no matter how much money he spent...

”The problem is that I can’t predict the +10 effect.”

The higher the rank of the target, the greater the probability of getting a powerful effect, but it might not suit Fu Hao. Perhaps the effect would be useful to others but useless to him, or it might overlap with existing hidden items. In that case, the +10 Guaranteed Enhancement Scroll would be wasted; he had to be cautious.

”If I had known, I wouldn’t have smashed all the unique items, and I wouldn’t be so conflicted now.”

Back then, to increase the probability of drawing Margo’s Protection, Fu Hao had destroyed all bound items, including unique ones. Now, lacking synthesis materials, this +10 Guaranteed Enhancement Scroll was likely the only one he would get during his trip to the Inner World.

In the end, he decided to save it for now, just in case. Although using it immediately to accelerate the collection of hidden items or improve the World Tree’s growth environment would be nice, the sudden disappearance of the Transfer Demon King still weighed on his mind. The unease of things not going as expected lingered:

”I have to keep a trump card that can reverse the situation.”

Although he didn’t see any stat increase for now, the newly acquired +10 Guaranteed Enhancement Scroll and the Super Rank+ Emperor Endel soul were already a reliable last line of defense. Fu Hao put the items away with satisfaction and threw himself back into the work of collecting hidden items.

The Demon World.

Several days had passed since the synthesis of the sword of sealing, and by collecting hidden items in the Human World, Fu Hao had finally restored his base stats to what they were before creating the Inner World.

Although his stats had only returned to their original state, in terms of skills, thanks to the synergy between the +10 Vampirism skill and Skill Enhancement, he had mastered skills even stronger than before, even without combat class skills.

Coupled with the top-tier holy skills learned from the legendary saint Aria through Teaching of the Strong, Fu Hao was full of confidence—even without Xiao Jin’s help, he could defeat a High-Rank Demon King on his own.

Of course, he didn’t intend to challenge a High-Rank Demon King right away; he planned to clear them one by one, starting from the lowest-ranked Demon King.

Setting aside authority, the stat boost obtained from killing a Demon King was always 20%, regardless of whether it was high-rank or low-rank. Even if he couldn’t solo a High-Rank Demon King now, as long as he accumulated stats by killing low-rank Demon Kings step by step, he would eventually be able to take down the strongest Demon King.

This time was different from the last; there were no other players interfering in the Demon World, and Fu Hao could focus entirely on killing Demon Kings, just as he did when collecting hidden items in the Human World.

[ ”Great Explorer” title effect activated. ]

He opened the map, and the familiar notification popped up; the names of Demon NPC were immediately marked on the map.

If all the Demon names were displayed, the map would only be filled with text; fortunately, the system defaulted to displaying only the names of high-level NPC, so as long as he didn’t zoom in too much, it wouldn’t be chaotic.

After zooming the map out to the minimum, there were about 100 names displayed on it—Fu Hao had memorized the names of all the Demon Kings long before traveling to the Inner World, and he recognized at a glance that these were almost all Demon Kings.

”Killing 100 Demon Kings will add a total of 2000% to my stats.”

Although there was already a stat boost from titles like Beginners Trial, meaning it wouldn’t be a simple 20-fold increase in the end, his stats would definitely be infinitely close to the level of the Dragon Legion.

In fact, even if it weren’t for the stats, Fu Hao intended to clear out all the Demon Kings.

In The Original World, the monsters that dragged the Human World into the abyss of destruction, although born from the fruits of the World Tree, still had their roots in the creatures of the Demon World.

The Hell Layer deep within the Demon World must hide secrets related to the monsters. He felt that after clearing all the Demon Kings, he might be able to open the path to the Hell Layer, or at least gain some clues about the Hell Layer or the monsters.

After all, even if he succeeded in cultivating the World Tree in the future and summoned the Dragon Legion using the Mythical Rank spirits born from the fruits, whether he could fight the monsters with force alone remained an unknown. It was always good to have more clues.

”Patem... not a Demon King, so who exactly is he?”

On the map, a name was marked in the center of the Hell Layer—Patem.

This name also existed in The Original World, but Fu Hao couldn’t figure out why a non-Demon King existence would appear here. He intuitively felt that Patem was the mastermind threatening the Human World, and that he might be the ”Lord” Philip spoke of.

But since Patem was neither a Demon King nor moving from his spot, Fu Hao couldn’t guess what kind of existence this was at all.
