Wizard: I Add Points and Hunt Monsters

The Mechanical School? Crazy?

Hearing Escobar’s voice, the other Wizards couldn’t agree more.

In all their time with the Ghost Soul School, they had never heard of the Mechanical School possessing purely Mechanical Life, only Mechanical Transformers.

Oshana stared blankly at Wei’en’s silhouette in the ethereal mist and murmured, ”I really don’t know how the Director managed it...”

Her expression was complicated, and her thoughts even more so.

Even though she had voluntarily applied to join the institute, she hadn’t held high expectations for Wei’en before arriving.

Or rather, she believed the research on the Rune Magic system—Wei’en’s specialty—would be of little help to her own work with undead modification.

However, after she witnessed Wei’en forcefully drive away Senior Benoy and then reveal Unit Zero, her opinion changed completely.

In her heart, she was already certain: her decision to join this institute might just be the best one she had ever made in her entire life!

If the research into fusing Undead Creatures with mechanical modifications succeeded—no, ’this research *will* succeed’—her future would be completely transformed.

”Yes,” Ausel said, his thoughts running deeper as he looked at Wei’en with a gaze full of admiration. ”If that really is a Mechanical Life form, it not only proves the Director’s ability, but more importantly—it’s replicable!”

”Replicable...” Adolph caught on. ”You mean any Wizard could create a Mechanical Life form? Wouldn’t that make them as essential for most Wizards as Undead Creatures?”

”It’s more than that!” Christa took a deep breath. ”If you also factor in the research topic of fusing undead with mechanical modifications, it could very well become an entirely new wizarding system if it succeeds!”

”Then we...”

Hearing their words, a hint of excitement showed on Escobar’s face. He, too, had considered that possibility.

”We, along with Director Wei’en, will be remembered by the entire Wizard World! We’ll become legendary, just like the great Liszt Wizard!”

The Black Robed Mage Ausel’s voice was slightly hoarse, his former indifference completely gone. He no longer bothered to hide the pustules and rotting flesh on his face, staring transfixed at Wei’en, his eyes filled with adoration.

’A man like that, a Wizard like that—sooner or later, the whole world will be captivated by him!’

Just then, Oshana McCarthy burst out laughing. Noticing the others’ slightly annoyed glances, she couldn’t stifle her laughter. ”I was just thinking, if we really do reach those heights in the future, do you think... do you think Senior Benoy will regret his recklessness today?”

”Regret? He’ll be dying of regret!”

At this, the others laughed as well.

Only Teresa didn’t join the other Wizards’ conversation. Full of excitement, she rushed back to her workbench, grabbed a few sheets of parchment, and scribbled down the contents of a standard confidentiality contract before running back.

”Copy this, then sign your names. I’ll send them to the Director all at once later. Be careful not to make any mistakes or create any ambiguity, otherwise I’ll assume you lack the sincerity to sign the contract!”

”Don’t worry, Senior Teresa. Even if you offered me all the gold pounds of your Silvira Clan right now, I wouldn’t be foolish enough to pass up an opportunity like this.”

Oshana and the others took the parchments and began copying the contract Teresa had written, finally signing their names at the bottom.

”I can’t wait to find out how he did it. I just hope it’s not some exclusive Wizard School... Otherwise, we Wizards who only specialize in a single system will be in trouble...”

Adolph licked his lips, a few of his tentacles waving up and down. He clearly couldn’t contain his excitement.

”The Director is right here. You could just ask him yourself,” Ausel said, glancing at him.

”You dare?”

”I don’t. That’s why I’m keeping my mouth shut...”

”Alright, the contracts are in order.”

Teresa checked and collected the contracts before turning to Wei’en, who had been standing calmly before the communicator the entire time. ”Apologies, Director, for keeping you waiting.”

A smile was also brimming on her face.

She was happy for Wei’en’s incredible research abilities and proud to be the deputy director of Research Institute No. 66!

Compared to this, not even being Master Boras’s assistant could have offered her something so astounding.

Wei’en nodded. ”Mm, thank you for your hard work, Teresa.”

Everything those Wizards had just said, every expression on their faces, had been clearly visible to him.

Yet, their shock didn’t cause the slightest ripple in his own emotions.

’Only he knew the true origin of Unit Zero. He was even more aware that without the empowerment of the Death God Origin Rune, he wouldn’t have Unit Zero, let alone such a powerful Blink or the Corpse Explosion Skill.’

’He didn’t feel their shock was due to his ”research.” Instead, he was silently marveling at the power of the unknown being who had deciphered the Death God Origin Rune.’

Because of this, he felt a sliver of gratitude and respect for the Death God Olanir.

’Well, just a tiny sliver... ’

’If that deity slumbering in the Realm of Death ever found out what he was doing, He’d probably hammer him to death!’

BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ...

Just then, the blue and white box began to vibrate.

Wei’en opened the box, took out the six contracts, and glanced over them.

”By the will of the great God of Contract, we hereby agree...”

After confirming there were no issues, he picked up a quill and signed his name on the parchments, finalizing the contracts with the six members of his institute.
