Wizard: I Add Points and Hunt Monsters

”Let’s see if you can still be so disrespectful in a moment!”

The clown appeared in the cabin, still clad in his magnificent, exquisite formal wear, his face hidden behind that broken mask.

”Mr. Leonard,” Wei’en said, raising an eyebrow. ”You aren’t planning on summoning more Abyssal Creatures, are you?”

The clown didn’t answer, just glared grimly at him and casually snapped his fingers. ”Naji.”

’What does that mean?’

Wei’en recognized the word as something from the Gonzalez language, but he didn’t understand what it meant.

Before he could even try to translate it, the entire cabin suddenly dimmed. It wasn’t that the candlelight had gone out; rather, a shadow had appeared in the dilapidated room, seeming to absorb all the surrounding light.

’That...’

Wei’en turned around and saw a grotesque figure, more than twice his size, standing silently in the corner.

It was wearing a long white robe stained with blood. Long hair hung down over its head, completely obscuring its face and hiding its features.

Behind it was a pair of folded, fleshy wings. They had no scales or feathers, just a thin membrane of skin that clearly showed the black blood vessels beneath. At the tips of the wings were several long, bony fingers that rhythmically clenched and unclenched with the creature’s halting breaths, making a CRACKLE, CRACKLE sound.

Beneath the robe, there were no humanoid limbs, only countless black tentacles. They twisted and writhed slowly, pulling in the surrounding light, making the shadows grow ever deeper.

Its wings contain abyssal venom that can pollute and mutate other creatures. ’A Mutated Altho Beast?’

”Mr. Leonard, you...”

Wei’en frowned. He was about to make a snide remark about the clown’s lack of originality when the towering figure from the Realm of Death surfaced in his mind. He changed his tune. ”I wonder if you might do something for me?”

Leonard tilted his head back, his tone mocking. ”If you’re about to ask me to spare you, I’d advise you not to even bother.”

”No,” Wei’en said, shaking his head. His gaze fell upon the Mutated Altho Beast. ”Could you promise me that you’ll summon an Abyssal Creature every single day from now on?”

”Oh?” Leonard froze, asking in confusion, ”You... have you been frightened out of your mind?”

’In his mind, an Abyssal Creature of this level was perfect for bullying a young Wizard, but surely it wasn’t strong enough to scare Wei’en into spouting nonsense?’

”Not at all. I just feel my power is growing too slowly. I was hoping to use your ability to summon Abyssal Creatures to help me speed things up a little.”

Wei’en chuckled, stretching and clenching his fists as he limbered up. ”So, would you agree to such a request?”

’Improve his strength?’

Leonard fell silent. Even the clown mask on his face seemed to droop with dejection. He stared blankly at Wei’en’s back, his eyes filled with confusion and the humiliated anger of being played for a fool.

The next second, a wide grin split his face and he burst into manic laughter, as if he’d just heard the world’s funniest joke. Yet, his laughter was laced with fury. ”Of course I agree! HEE HEE HEE HA HA HA... A request like that... I... I simply must grant it!”

”Kill him! Hee hee ha ha... You damned fool, kill that bastard for me!”

[You have been locked onto by the killing intent of the Mutated Altho Beast. Evaluation: Grand Commander-level trash. Hmm, then again, maybe not. Reward: Survival Points +25.]

’What level is Grand Commander?’

’Judging by the survival points, it doesn’t seem much stronger than Director Level...’

”I’m glad you agree!”

”You’d better survive this first, and then... FUCK!”

Before he could finish his sentence, Wei’en had already used Red Heart to cast the Blood Boiling Technique.

”An Jie! Te! Jinsen!”

The Mutated Altho Beast silently shot out its tentacles. The wings on its back spread wide, enveloping the twisting appendages as they lunged for Wei’en.

BOOM!

The instant Wei’en completed the Magic, he reappeared behind the Mutated Altho Beast.

DRIP. DRIP.

Droplets of blood dripped from Wei’en’s fist. Behind him, the Mutated Altho Beast’s entire body froze in mid-air. Its tentacles, now severed from its body, flew off with their own momentum. Splatters of black blood showered the clown’s formal suit and mask, making his stunned expression all the more comical.

THUMP. THUMP.

With the sound, the Mutated Altho Beast’s head, tangled in its long hair, fell to the ground, taking the tattered wings with it.

[You have killed the Mutated Altho Beast. Evaluation: That wasn’t very Wizard-like! Special Reward: Survival Points +100, Resilience Level +5.]

”You... When did you get so strong...?”

’The clown’s eyes widened. How long had he been gone?’

’If I remember correctly, the time I spent with Tina getting her familiar with the Calamity Origin wasn’t more than three days... In such a short time, someone could go from Minister Level to Grand Commander Level?’

’No, to be more precise, he just insta-killed a Grand Commander-level opponent...’

”Thank you for the compliment, but my strength is still sorely lacking.”

Wei’en wiped the blood from his hand, turned to face the clown, and smiled. ”Mr. Leonard, I hope you’re a man of your word regarding my request!”
