Wizard: I Add Points and Hunt Monsters

”We’re discussing his strength, not his research potential, Josue.”

”So? What does that have to do with you?”

”You...”

”Enough!” Boras, seated at the head of the table, raised a hand to cut off their argument. ”Quatmoc Stevenson,” he said, his tone cold, ”just as Josue said, this meeting is to discuss how to deal with the Dawn Church, not to focus our attention on Wei’en.”

”...”

Josue was inwardly delighted. ”Teacher is right,” he said. ”The issue isn’t Wei’en himself, but the fact that he’s provoked the Dawn Church. We need to come up with a strategy to protect him.”

”Protect him?” The Zombie Mage Quatmoc sneered. ”With what? That’s the Judgement Saintess, a Legendary-level Holy Professional. Even if we sent a Legendary Mage, there’s no guarantee they could protect him. You can’t possibly want to bring out the Forbidden Items just for him, can you?”

”Why not? I...”

”Silence!”

Boras lightly tapped the table. The sound wasn’t loud, but the entire hall fell silent instantly.

Aside from the few who had contact with Wei’en, the other Wizards all had their arms crossed, looking as if it had nothing to do with them.

As for the Zombie Mage Quatmoc, although he was inwardly cursing this teacher-student pair for putting on an act, he also shut his mouth tightly, not daring to speak again.

”Amiditch, you report on Wei’en’s situation.”

The Werewolf Mage sat in a lower-ranking seat, a clear sign that his status was not high compared to the others present.

”Wizard Boras, I just made contact with Wei ’en Mage and received his report on yesterday’s battle. Please, take a look.”

Speaking, Amiditch respectfully rose, placed a sheet of parchment before Boras, and only continued after returning to his seat. ”According to his report, he was able to kill the Judgment Knight mainly by relying on a Forbidden Item—Forbidden Item 2-77, Karel’s Whisper...”

”Therefore, I speculate that he has just reached the level of a Great Mage, comparable to consul-level...”

”Just consul-level?”

Boras glanced at the parchment, pondered for a few seconds, and made his decision: ”If that’s the case, then according to the Phantoms’ rules, we’ll raise his rating by one level. Our response to the Dawn Church will be based on this new rating!”

”Yes, Lord Boras!”

Josue felt a sense of relief. Although the rating was only raised by one level, which wasn’t enough to assign a Legendary Mage to protect Wei’en, it meant more resources would be allocated to him, indirectly increasing his strength.

However, he was also keenly aware that these resources were still not enough to deal with that Judgement Saintess!

’Wei’en Loft... The rest is up to you!’

...

...

Inside the theater space, Wei’en had already finished drawing three complete Magic Runes, and was now proceeding with the research of fusing them with the Death God Origin Rune.

[You have successfully drawn the Puppet Frenzy Technique rune. Special Reward: Survival Points +3, Spirit Level +1.]

[...]

[You have successfully drawn the Water Elemental Spirit (Death God) rune. Special Reward: Survival Points +3, Spirit Level +1.]

[Congratulations! You have obtained one piece of max-level rune knowledge. Your Rune Studies proficiency progress: 17/100. Special Reward: Spirit Level +1.]

”This time feels great!”

Wei’en looked at the three brand-new runes, fused with the Death God Origin Rune, and now waited to see what kind of enhancement effects he would get after imprinting them.

In fact, every time he imprinted a Death God fusion rune, he felt like he was playing the lottery.

He wondered if a being like Lady Luck actually existed. ’I hope Her relationship with the Death God Olanier is a good one...’

After leveling up by allocating his points, Wei’en wasted no time imprinting the new Magic Rune patterns on the back of the driver’s and the others’ heads.

[You have successfully imprinted the Shadow Step Rune (Death God) and learned Shadow Step (Death God), Level 1. Evaluation: Oh, I must now amend my evaluation of you—a sturdy little chick. Special Reward: Survival Points +10, Resilience Level +3, Spirit Level +3.]

[Note 1: Shadow Step (Death God) Level 1, Resilience Cost 10/second. Effect: When the magic is activated, consume 10 Resilience per second to increase movement speed by ten percent and allow yourself to remain under the shelter of the Realm of Death for 10 seconds.]

[Note 2: For each level up of Shadow Step (Death God), movement speed increases by an additional ten percent, and duration increases by five seconds.]

[Note 3: The shelter of the Realm of Death will not cause you to enter deep into the Realm of Death. Your vision will remain in the main world.]

[...]

[You have successfully imprinted Water Elemental Spirit (Death God), learned Water Elemental Spirit (Death God), Level 1... Special Reward: Survival Points +10, Resilience Level +3, Spirit Level +3.]

[Note 1: Water Elemental Spirit (Death God) Level 1, Spirit Cost 200. Effect: In the name of the Death God Olanier, imbue the Water Elemental Spirit’s attacks with the death attribute for 1 minute.]

[Note 2: A Level 1 Water Elemental Spirit (Death God) will possess ten percent of the user’s Spirit Level, Resilience Level, and Origin Power.]

[Note 3: For each level up of Water Elemental Spirit (Death God), the Spirit cost is reduced by ten percent, the duration increases by one minute, it gains an additional ten percent of the user’s attributes, and the number of spirits increases by one.]

Wei’en looked at the descriptions of these three spells on his panel, as well as the survival points needed to upgrade them, and a satisfied smile couldn’t help but appear on his face.

’My luck is pretty good! Aside from the Puppet Frenzy Spell, whose effect was disappointing and only costs 20 survival points to upgrade, both Shadow Step and Water Elemental Spirit require 50 survival points. That puts their enhancement effect in the same tier as the Undead Claw Boiling Blood Skill!’

’I wonder when I’ll get another spell like Heart of Flesh and Blood. For an effect that powerful, I’d be willing to spend even more survival points.’

With this in mind, Wei’en continued to allocate his points, spending survival points to raise all three spells to level three.

Shadow Step (Death God) Lvl 1 (1/50)... (50/50).

[Shadow Step (Death God) Lvl 1 (50/50). Upgrade?]

[Upgrade.]

[Congratulations, your skill: Shadow Step (Death God) has been upgraded from Lvl 1 to Lvl 2. Effect: When the magic is activated, consume 10 Resilience per second to increase movement speed by twenty percent and allow yourself to remain under the shelter of the Realm of Death for 15 seconds.]

[...]

[Water Elemental Spirit (Death God) Lvl 3 (5000/5000). Upgrade?]

[Upgrade.]

[Congratulations, your skill: Water Elemental Spirit (Death God) has been upgraded from Lvl 3 to Lvl 4. Effect: In the name of the Death God Olanier, summon four Water Elemental Spirits. Their attacks possess the death attribute, and they have forty percent of the user’s Spirit Level, Resilience Level, and Origin Power. Duration: 4 minutes.]

[Your Wizard level meets the promotion requirements. Do you wish to advance?]

[Yes.]

[Congratulations, your class: Wizard, has been promoted to Advanced Mage! Special Reward: Survival Points +400, Resilience Level +100, Spirit Level +400.]

’Finally, an Advanced Mage!’

Wei’en upgraded the newly imprinted spells to level four in one go before choosing to advance to Advanced Mage. The process wiped out half of his survival points, leaving him with just 13,500.

’For now, this is as much as I can upgrade. Aside from Heart of Flesh and Blood, all the spells on my panel are now level four or five. The survival points required are too high, so I’ll have to save up more before I can continue.’

Still, the result was good. He was one step closer to becoming a Great Mage.

Thinking of this, Wei’en took out another sheet of parchment and, using the Gonzalez language, chose to exchange for a Wizard’s notes on advancing to Great Mage...

PS: Although this Chapter is quite long, it doesn’t count as an extra Chapter. Think of it as compensation for not having an extra one yesterday. I forgot to change the title, though, so don’t worry about the details.
