Wizard: I Add Points and Hunt Monsters

”As for the Dalko Research Center... that’s the Ghost Soul School’s only publicly known research center. It’s mostly responsible for research exchanges with other schools, as well as trade and procurement with certain families here on the Northern Continent.”

Teresa laid out all the information she knew at once, then added, ”Director, if you’d like to know more about their specific research topics, I’ll go to Dean Josue later to file an application. The relevant data will be sent to you the moment it’s approved.”

”There’s no need for now,” Wei’en said, waving his hand. ”I just wanted to get a general idea of the situation. By the way, last time, Dean Josue mentioned building a research institute. I’ll have to trouble you to follow up on that as well.”

”Rest assured, Director, I will absolutely urge the Dean to build your research institute to be the biggest and the best!”

”Uh, it doesn’t really need to be that much trouble...”

”No! Since we chose to join Research Institute No. 66, we will follow all of your arrangements!”

Seeing her serious expression, Wei’en didn’t insist further.

To him, it didn’t matter what the research institute at the school was built like. After all, he wouldn’t be returning there anytime soon.

”That’s all for now. I’ll contact you once I’ve finalized my research plan.”

”Understood, Director. I’ll teleport the instruments to you right away.”

”Mm,” Wei’en nodded. ”Until next time, Researcher Teresa.”

With that, he pressed the communicator’s button, cutting off the communication channel.

”Until next time...”

Teresa watched the screen go dark, her expression relaxing slightly. Then, she flopped her head onto the workbench, her flailing hands sending the books and scrolls on the desk into a messy pile.

’That was awful, Teresa Ilina Silvira! You’re such an idiot!!’

’Thankfully, Wizard Wei’en didn’t seem to mind, or you would have lost this opportunity!’

After a long while, she finally calmed down. A shy smile appeared on her face as Wei’en’s image surfaced in her mind, and she secretly cheered herself on.

’You can do this. As the Ghost Soul School’s youngest level-three researcher, you can definitely cooperate well with Wizard Wei’en’s research project. You’ve got this!’

With this in mind, she first teleported the materials Wei’en needed through the blue-and-white box, then notified the institute’s personnel one by one, telling them that Wizard Wei’en was now aware they had joined.

”Really? Senior Teresa? Wizard Wei’en... he doesn’t mind that our Wizard ranks are low, does he?”

”Of course it’s true, Oshana. Let me tell you, the Director is a really great person...”

”That’s great! I knew Wizard Wei’en would agree to let me join!”

”Escobar, when you come, remember to organize your previous research reports. The Director might want to know about your past research topics and progress.”

”No problem, they’re already prepared!”

”And Gannis, too...”

While Teresa methodically advanced the various tasks of the research institute, Wei’en, on the other side, had received the list and a Space Ring containing the instruments. He took some time to re-familiarize himself with the researchers’ basic information before starting to rearrange his workshop.

His research institute had a total of seven researchers. Among them, only two Wizards followed the Secret Art Spell System; the rest followed the singular Undead Magic system.

However, this was in line with the difficulty of advancing in the Secret Art Spell System. After all, not everyone could endure until they were an Intermediate Wizard Apprentice to choose and inscribe the Soul-Devouring Rune, which had a lower success rate.

Furthermore, after advancing to a full-fledged Wizard, the condition that all origin sub-bodies needed to be enhanced to advance further would make some of the less talented Wizards despair.

Therefore, Wizards who chose the Secret Art Spell System were even rarer.

Before long, after doubling the area of his workshop, Wei’en finished arranging all the instruments.

The bulk of it was equipment related to the study of undead modification. For example, there was a monitoring device for recording the real-time status and data of Undead Creatures—a spherical instrument made entirely of black bone, with metal wires sticking out from all sides like antennae. In the middle was a control console and a brightly polished metal mirror.

Another piece was a workbench for modifying corpses, similar to a surgical table, that could automatically transform into different configurations to secure various types and ranks of Undead Creatures.

Besides these two large instruments, there were also various tools needed for modifying Undead Creatures, as well as a Rune Array that provided sealing, isolation, and protection.

As for research instruments for mechanical modification, there weren’t many. There was only one multi-functional modification platform, supposedly purchased from the Mechanical School, used for the precision crafting of mechanical parts. It also came equipped with auxiliary mechanical arms for disassembly and installation.

After doing all this, Wei’en looked at his transformed workshop and nodded in satisfaction.

Judging by the exquisite craftsmanship of these instruments, one could tell they were quite expensive—at least not something an ordinary Wizard could afford.

However, he hadn’t started his research project yet, so he wasn’t sure what other auxiliary instruments he would need later. He could only wait until the project was underway to supplement his collection.

’Mechanical modification, undead modification...’

Wei’en felt a headache coming on as he thought about what he had to do next.

Knowledge in these two areas could be exchanged for at the school or provided for free by the Research Center. The trouble was, this content couldn’t be improved by adding points on his panel. He would have to learn and master all the various aspects through step-by-step experimentation, just like other Wizards.

This meant he would have to spend a great deal of time on it.

To ensure the success of the modifications, he would need many experimental subjects and the modification plans would have to be as comprehensive as possible. Everything revolved around improving Miss Zombie.
