Wizard: I Add Points and Hunt Monsters

Great Dawn, please forgive me, *sob sob*!

Just then, Shawa emerged from the other workshop. After seeing the two people at the dining table, she instinctively glanced toward the workshop belonging to Wei’en. She waited a few seconds, and upon realizing there was no sound, she silently sat down beside Tina.

”Shawa, you’re different.”

”Mm.”

Miss Zombie nodded stiffly, understanding that the white-haired girl was saying she had undergone some changes.

In reality, after devouring those Undead Creatures, her power had successfully reached the Director level. Every part of her, except for the mechanically modified sections, had been strengthened from the inside out. She was now several times stronger than before.

”Sorry, about yesterday...”

Pavla brought two balanced plates of breakfast to the table. She looked at Shawa apologetically and said, ”I didn’t mean to hurt you.”

”It’s... okay.”

Miss Zombie looked at the breakfast before her. After a moment’s thought, she picked up her knife and fork, cut off a piece of egg white, and put it in her mouth. She chewed a few times before forcing it down with a stiff swallow.

’Still no taste...’

”As long as you’re not angry, that’s good...”

Pavla sat down opposite the two of them, observing the pair of girls—one big, one small—who looked so different from ordinary people. Shawa’s mechanical eye especially drew her gaze.

’A combination of an Undead Creature and mechanical modification?’

’I’ve never seen anything like it.’

’Did Wei’en, that Evil Mage, do this to her?’

’How cruel of him!’

”Oh? You’ve already started eating?”

Just then, Clelia opened the door to the training area. Seeing the scene outside, she quickly beckoned for the Queen’s Guard behind her to come out as well.

”Time to eat!”

Meanwhile, Wei’en was oblivious to the harmonious scene unfolding outside. He was even less aware that, in a distant land, the upper echelons of the Eternal Life Association had already begun preparing to deal with the Dusk Sect.

He was in his workshop, busy working with Zero.

[You have safely survived another day. Evaluation: Congratulations... Reward: Survival Points +3.]

’Congratulations?’

’How half-assed.’

Wei’en pursed his lips. He set down the mechanical part he was making and glanced at Zero, who was still hollering with excitement as he made the newly finished Mechanical Puppet perform various synchronized movements. Wei’en couldn’t help but speak up, ”Zero, you should be making more Iron Heart Furies.”

”Father, this is so much fun! It can perform all sorts of movements just as I imagine them...”

”Of course, but if you could control more of them, you’d be even more powerful, wouldn’t you?”

Zero stopped in his tracks. He brought the Mechanical Puppet back with him and leaned over the drill press. ”I get it, Father. I’ll make the parts for a few more puppets.”

”Good. As soon as you can. I might be busy with other things for a while, so if you’re too slow, you’ll have to try engraving the runes yourself.”

Wei’en looked at their identical mechanical bodies. If it weren’t for the red glow in Zero’s gear-like eyes, he would have trouble telling which one was the Mechanical Life.

”Understood!”

Seeing how serious he was, Zero didn’t dare to fool around anymore. He obediently began manufacturing various components in tandem with the Mechanical Puppet.

’Hm?’

When Wei’en saw this, he thought, ’They can do it like that?’

’Compared to the learning ability of a Mechanical Life, is the innate ability to control Mechanical Puppets even more powerful?’

’If that’s the case... then the free labor I’ve been longing for might actually be possible...’

Wei’en glanced at the newly completed Burst Sniper Rifles nearby. Whether or not they could be mass-produced would depend on how many Mechanical Puppets Zero could control!

At this thought, he picked up the parts again and resumed engraving runes.

Wei’en knew these Mechanical Puppets weren’t particularly powerful, but his current knowledge of puppet mechanics was insufficient to properly modify them.

His only option was to equip them with Burst Sniper Rifles to boost their offensive capabilities.

He believed that with Zero’s powerful puppet-controlling ability, he should be able to form those Mechanical Puppets into a decent fighting force.

As for the rest... that would have to wait until he learned more about mechanical and undead modification through his current research project.
