Warhammer Divine Throne

Chapter 1049: Chapter 458: Lorgar and the National Church

Laine first stayed for a day in Teresa’s Wizard Tower. The female sorcerer seized the winter season’s suitable climate to research magic. After spending a passionate night with Laine, she actively urged him to leave. On the other hand, Veronica was quite free, and the Jialan Witch simply followed Laine around, naturally enjoying the delight, her face glowing red.

A few days before the Winter Festival, Laine initiated a ”Count’s grassroots visit” campaign. As the Divine Chosen Champion of the Lake Fairy, Laine Macado personally came to Red Fish Village, visited the village’s elders, traversed the village’s streets and alleys, understanding the peasant’s income and living conditions. Since Laine arrived here, the lives of the peasants have undergone tremendous changes. Currently, hunger and poverty are gradually leaving this village, seeing every household with surplus grains, which made the Count repeatedly commend.

Afterwards, Count Laine came to the home of the elder of Red Fish Village, offering him holiday blessings, gifting him two fish as a holiday gift, warmly inquiring about the elder’s family situation: ”Is it convenient to go to the city? How is the public security? Is the medical cost high?”

Facing the Count’s warm greetings, the elder smiled and said: ”It’s all thanks to the Count’s leadership that the roads are smooth now, public security is guaranteed, medical treatment is convenient, life is improving more and more.”

After visiting the elder, the Count and his entourage went to see the elderly Yves’s house. Yves is a retired soldier with a physical disability, suffering from rheumatism and other ailments, and has no one to look after him. Facing the blessings sent by the Count, the old soldier was moved to tears: ”I am 58 years old this year, watching the transformation of the entire village, the environment is getting better, life is becoming more beautiful, this is all the Count’s grace.”

”Are you eating well? Keeping warm?” Opening the old soldier’s iron pot, Laine discovered that a meat porridge was being stewed inside, the Count was very pleased. Laine warmly expressed that if there are difficulties, they should be reported to the Master Knight. The retired soldiers have fought with their lives against evil, contributing greatly to Brittania’s stability, unity, and harmony. The Kingdom Knights of every village should pay attention to understanding the needs of retired soldiers and servicemen, so they feel the care from the Lake Fairy and Knightly Spirit, while also strengthening soldiers’ training, sweating more in peacetime, bleeding less in wartime.

After concluding the visit, the Winter Festival arrived. Surya formally gathered the entire backyard of Laine to host a turkey banquet in her capacity as a lady, discussing in-depth how to tap into Laine’s potential, rationally allocate Laine’s public time, and the sequence of who goes first, reaching consensus on many issues.

Laine himself was prohibited from attending this banquet, and he did not know what the women discussed. Later, from the more open-mouthed Ollica, he learned that Surya and the others seemed to have signed a ”agreement” after competing in many rounds, the Lake Fairy also signed the agreement.

However, Laine had no time to care about the banquet.

Because the Emperor came, bringing with him the Primarch of the Word Bearers, Lorgar.

On the day of the Winter Festival, deep in the Charon Forest, within a subterranean cave.

Four Emperor’s Guards stood alertly, watching the surroundings, ready to react to any movement with sharp retaliation. Angerong sat complexly on one side, watching the transfer of Laine’s spirit and will by the Emperor’s supreme power, purifying his former brothers, murmuring: ”Father, I thought you would first capture Petrabo, then I could use my axe to chop his ugly face.”

The Emperor first cast his gaze on the straw hat Angerong wore, then continued to focus on transforming Lorgar: ”To capture Petrabo, even if I take action myself, I must prepare to lose at least three thousand Imperial Guards, and there’s only a fifty percent chance of success.”

”But that’s Petrabo, he spent ten thousand years preparing a fortress just waiting for others to attack, unfortunately, no one would dare.” Angerong shouted: ”Even in my wildest moments, I knew Petrabo and his fortress were untouchable.”

”There’s no invincible fortress, nor judgment that won’t arrive. Lorgar will pay for his actions.” Clarkson, Primarch of the Raven Guard, with skin pale as snow and hair black like graphite, stood from afar. He was slightly less silent than usual, looking at Angerong as he spoke a few more unnecessary words, his tone contained something deeper if at all.

”If judgment always arrives late, it’s as if it never came.” Laine purifies Lorgar, whose strength as an Ascension Demon Primarch is indeed lacking, at least he feels significantly easier than before. While conducting energy, he whispers: ”At least the judgment has been delayed for ten thousand years, even for many traitors, it will be delayed longer.”

”Elimination of evil must be thorough, only when all enemies have been destroyed, their breath wiped out, their souls and bodies completely erased from the world, their past deeds and existence’s records disappeared in time, the principal malign must be executed, followers held accountable, only when all records and names of the enemies, along with scrolls written of their stories, are destroyed, will true victory arrive.” Clarkson said to Laine: ”From the Astarta Holy Scripture, written by Kiliman.”

”Lorgar did the same.” The Emperor spoke coldly, looking at the Primarch of the Word Bearers lying on the stone slab, his face bleak, devoid of further expression: ”He grew up on a planet worshipping the Evil God, learned nothing but faith, since childhood he was taught that the meaning of life is faith, not to care about what, but to care about the devotion.”
